  1. Maybe Budda saw the uniforms.
  2. In that scenario, I'd hope the Jags would be in the AFC Central and the Colts in the East, as those were our respective divisions before the most recent round of divisional realignment. I know a lot of Jaguars fans still consider some of the current AFC North teams as rivals, but am aware that feeling is probably not mutual considering our limited history. I miss playing the Steelers and the Ravens though -- I haven't learned to hate the Colts or Texans.
  3. Was thinking something like this, where the bronco would turn blue when it’s cold.
  4. Ravens should go with purple flake helmets.
  5. We now have -- I-S P-R-I-M-A-R-Y Definitely seems like there's more coming. Now we wait.
  6. Some teams shouldn't have black alternates. Iowa State is probably one of them due to their color scheme and rival's colors. Wearing black with red/yellow would make them look like Iowa from a distance, especially with the way yellow is more visible against black than red.
  7. Uniform reveals have gotten so stale over the years, so it was nice to actually feel some excitement about one again. Only wish they would've saved the look for a night game. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come from them!
  8. I've loved their uniforms but they officially jumped the shark for me in 2015. In the past, mixing and matching with so many of their looks tied the colors and finishes all together. With the black jersey for example -- the black, silver, and yellow allowed you to wear a black helmet, yellow helmet, gray helmet, chrome helmet, or even the carbon helmet with that jersey. You could also wear black pants, yellow pants, or gray pants with that jersey. It gave them legitimate options for mixing and matching without looking like they are slapping random pieces together (M&MFM&MS ) or needing to go straight monochrome every week. Each combination looked intentional and I think that separated them from most the pretenders who have tried to emulate them since. Their look now is good in its own way, as it was probably time to tone down how busy their previous sets were. While I think Oregon should still be mixing and matching, I don't think all of the new combinations work being mixed and matched all that much due to the simplicity of colors used. Here, the green is the only color on the jersey, but is not visible anywhere else. Yellow is prominent on the helmet and pants, but not on the jersey. Silver is featured on the helmet but is not used elsewhere on any of their uniforms. Why even have a helmet with silver wings in this set when silver/gray is no longer used on their jerseys or pants? The wings on the yellow lid should be nightmare green and only worn with the nightmare green, yellow, and those alternate white jerseys. Nightmare green wings (and maybe a matching facemask) would've looked so much better here. I know chrome has been overplayed but I miss the flash of chrome from Oregon. But even when they wear chrome lids now, it doesn't really match any of the combinations due to the lack of gray/silver on all of the uniforms. The helmet worn against Washington is probably my favorite helmet of theirs currently but they don't really have a set to properly wear with it. Wearing it with either white set is their best bet. The Rose Bowl lid almost works with the nightmare green wings but it still looks a bit out of place to me against the dull shade of green. (Nothing flashy about their nightmare green set.) When they piece the uniform together as intended below, it looks great for the most part. The extent of their mixing and matching should be to find their best kelly sets, their best nightmare sets, their best yellow sets, etc. and roll with it.
  9. I guess underwater reveals are a thing now. Are the Gators next?
  10. I agree -- wish they'd go with a black mask and stripe for the black alternates. This was an old mock-up of mine. Overall, these alternates are pretty nice. I'm liking the block font. The dog collar gets lost under the helmet and isn't all that noticeable to me. I like the idea of red pants for the away set but why does Georgia always find a way to make a stripe so damn thick?
  11. I noted ESPN was using an alternate version of the Jayhawk for their box score yesterday. I like it and the simplified color palette, as I've never been a fan of all 3 primary colors together. That said, it looks unfinished and gets a bit lost when its over a white background. This is from their branding page.
  12. They've also come out with these alternates.
  13. It's been a while since posting. The Washington design contest got me to pull out a new concept. Might jump back into this series a bit more as we get into what should be football season. This is what I submitted for the contest. After a lot of back and forth on names, I ultimately went with the Washington Wolves as the team name. Felt it was a way to show respect to the Native American community, as Wolves are revered in their culture, without needing to use any specific Native imagery. Other names I'd strongly considered -- Admirals, Sharks, Mammoths, Warriors, Dragons, Astronauts, and Warthogs. I wanted to keep their colors so that they don't feel completely like an expansion team. I also wanted the uniforms to maintain the overall aesthetic of their look in Washington with the combinations. I started with the DC flag design as the inspiration, and wanted to incorporate those double stripes on the helmet, shoulders, pants, and socks for continuity. Then the 3 stars from the flag are found on the sleeves to bring it all together. The W logo on the helmet represents both Washington and Wolves, with the same 3 stars on the top as another nod to DC. I experimented with a stacked WW logo for 'Washington Wolves,' but no matter what I did to it, all I could think of was 'Wonder Woman.' Primary Home Alternate Home Primary Away Alternate Away
  14. When you have such a unique (and beautiful) color scheme, less is more. Let the colors speak for themselves. Texas is a prime example of that. While the Titans had room for improvement, they absolutely went the wrong direction in their latest rebrand.
  15. That's a good way to put it. I suppose it's more of a refinement than an actual change. I'd call it a slight upgrade for removing the chest stripes, but overall feels rather uninspired. Those sleeve stripes are boring and look like something ordered out of a catalogue. It's kind of funny how it is flipped but both sides are actually identical if you ripped the sleeves off and viewed them side by side. I don't know how that works, but maybe that's a way to cut production costs?
  16. I'm expecting these, without the faux mesh.
  17. As a fellow southerner, plural "y'all" around here would be -- "all of y'all" ...
  18. This feels like a clever play on the Yankees, as many southerners (who say y'all) would refer to northerners as those "damn yankees." Was that his intent? The Y'alls remind me of the Yinzers.
  19. I'd posted the text below in the locked NFL megathread regarding Oakley's COVID-19 visors for the NFL. Now it looks like we are getting the first glimpse of what some of these solutions might actually look like. Schutt has released this. While their solution is cheap, it also looks cheap. But I get it -- it's tough to mass produce something like this on short notice, (especially in our current reality), with the multitude of helmet and facemask options that these need to be able to connect to. I just hope Oakley's will be one continuous piece -- preferably without the velcro straps. 3
  20. Seeing Morten Andersen in this uniform was kind of funny. Speaks to both the longevity of his career, and the longevity of these uniforms.
  21. Watching Tom Brady golf yesterday reminded me of how bad his logo is. My wife thought it was supposed to be 'T3L.' He should embrace the GOAT label people have given him and roll with a goat logo like @Conrad.
