  1. Interesting -- I wonder if this is what they were going to go with and then MLB said it was too much of a departure
  2. I thought it was something to do with the old phrase "first in war, first in peace, last in the American League"
  3. As much as I hate to see any of the A's main elements change (aside from bringing back the kelly, that's a must for me), I think there's a very real opportunity for the A's. Neither the Knights nor the Raiders really own the "Vegas" of their brand. So having an LV cap logo and a road jersey are a must. They really need to steer hard into the LV of the branding. The Raiders just kept their same design with Vegas slapped onto it, and the knights uniform is so generic and lacks any reference to the city. The A's can own this.
  4. I'll say this -- the mesh BP jerseys are super trendy right now (possibly a big factor is that the Mitchell and Ness mesh BP jerseys are cheaper and lack the swoosh, but I don't want to speculate) - so it's possible, much like the original BFBS, the Mets are trying to sieze on what's trendy at this point.
  5. Woof, that Giants jersey is...something else. I don't hate the sleeves, honestly if they just put the wordmark on the front without a gradient, I don't have it. Ad for the Dodgers, I wouldn't be stunned to see a Hollywood Stars reference. Tons to work with there....which happens to include shorts.
  6. Dude an Alcatraz jersey would be sweet. Pitripes with "The Rock" on the front??
  7. That's the old Brooklyn mascot. Funny, I can't recall ever seeing it used for LA. Little salty about LA stealing it to be honest.
  8. https://mobile.twitter.com/MLB/status/1394296516295204868?s=19 Well....these are bad.
  9. That collar is awful -- Also, how come the minor league teams get to shove the swoosh on the sleeve but the MLB teams need it front and center? Much less offensive on the sleeve.
  10. Wait is there a new Anaheim stadium being built?
  11. God I hope it's anywhere but Portland. They can't even hold onto a minor league team. Plus the city has seemed...volatile of late
  12. Makes sense, but interesting that the film actually features a faux back that never existed: It's an amalgum of the 1909-1911 jersey with the Yankees pinstripes added and the classic hat. I can't believe I've never noticed that before. I wonder why they wouldn't do a gray version of ththis, since it's fictional anyway?
  13. Lack of an outline, but mostly that generally speaking the Yankees script logo is what appears on the back of non-on field caps.
  14. Sorry, not assuming anything, but the new era ones labelled as field of dreams feature the same arched new york
  15. Hmm, you're right. I did some digging and found that '47 has the same hat. I remember seeing it last summer as well: https://www.47brand.com/collections/new-york-yankees/products/new-york-yankees-cooperstown-47-franchise Worth noting, the NEW YORK script on the back appears on all the hats that aren't the on-field model. Wonder if that's a clue as to the front of the jersey
  16. Where at? I hadn't seen it. They just put the FoD in the title. I wonder if they had the stock last year...
  17. We got our first look at the Yankees Field of Dreams game cap - seems like we're getting throwbacks:
  18. If they're a part of the Air Force, then the Marines are part of the Navy
  19. Here's what I'll say - Fenway and the Sox represent Boston in a way few other sports represent their city. If there is a movie set in Boston, it will inevitably include a scene at Fenway - the only exception I can think of is The Departed, but Sox hats are all over that movie. But Fenway is Boston. The only other sports team I think even comes close is Chicago and Wrigley, but chances are you'll just get a passing shot of the marquee, whereas entire plots are centered around Fenway.
  20. Speaking of camo -- Caught a few minutes of the Pirates game last night and noticed something. Remember how a few years ago they inexplicably added the 2018 Memorial Day uniforms to the rotation? Well they're still wearing them. Only one catch - The five stars were supposed to represent the five branches of the US military - however, since the end of 2019, there are now six branches of the military with the addition of the space force. So an already lazy alternate got even lazier.
  21. They were -- they're now NWU, which is technically a MARPAT variant. And there's no issue using MARPAT, CADPAT (the Canadian pattern that MARPAT is based off of) is not available to the public, so whenever MLB has used it, they've used a facsimile. Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) is a modified version of Multicam, which is actually its own company and owns a trademark on the pattern, so MLB/New Era would have to pay a licensing fee. Multicam is in current use by the Army/Air Force/Space Force and I believe Coast Guard. Australian Multicam and Multi-Terrain Pattern are also similar, used by the Aussies and Brits, respectively.
  22. God, now MLB can't even spring for a real camo pattern? This is like the Gap's generic camo shorts pattern.... For the record, here are the currently used patterns by the US Military: Multicam Family MARPAT Family That pattern isn't even the M81 Woodland camo from the 80s and 90s! Guess MLB/New Era couldn't be bothered to spend the money to license a pattern, or at least even try and fake it....
  23. Ah maybe --- the raglan sleeves in your photo are different from the ones in mine. Of course worth noting that a blank authentic is a whopping $435 while the replicas are "only" $135
