  1. I worked a lot of days doing background on that television show, did a couple of days on Playmakers, and likewise a few days on another series called MVP... ...and lets not forget Hamilton's other famous fictional team, and yet another Mustang team...
  2. Whoops, forgot to add this one... This would make a great home sweater, and make a white version for the away...
  3. After all these years, I'm still not used to it being called "a road jersey". But anyhoo, a road jersey does not have to be white, Boston, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles and Vancouver have all at certain points in their history have used yellow jerseys instead of the traditional white. But there is also a reason why none of those teams still use those sweaters, because, unless you are Team Sweden, it looks really stupid...
  4. Actually Kanata is in Ottawa....
  5. I've always wished the Rangers would have switched to the lady liberty logo as their primary. The Rangers name diagonally has looked too minor league for my tastes, and has led to too many copycats who are too lazy to come up with a real decent uniform design..
  6. I'm partial to this look, mainly because I have a Hamilton Bulldogs away (blue) jersey with this colour and stripe scheme and it was the best looking jersey, outside of their St. Patricks Day special, they've had in franchise history.
  7. Hamilton has the Hall of Fame and the older franchise....
  8. While I get your point, the Panthers do have a past. It's not a long past, but... It was a red jersey and they went to the Stanley Cup Finals in it. I'd be all for them bringing that back as a "retro" alt. This "invention," as you put it, really has no place in my mind. It's not "retro" for the Panthers, it's new. I had to correct my typo in the above quote, I hate poor grammer, spelling and typos especially when they are my own... I probably should have also added to my point in saying that the city has no real heritage either when it comes to hockey for that matter. Ottawa, Minnesota, Colorado (and even San Jose if you consider the Oakland/California Seals) had teams before that they can draw from as well as deep histories with minor/amateur hockey that go back many decades (or in Ottawa's case over a century.) Miami has what? The Miami Screaming Eagles, a team that never got past the concept stage in the WHA? But even so, if they insist on going this route, there are so many retro styles they could go for, such as a stylized 'F' or interlocking 'FP' or scripted 'Panthers' that can at least suggest they are their own team instead of imitating everyone else...
  9. *smack* D'oh! but in my defence it was an ugly logo on an ugly uniform....
  10. Funny a team with no real past trying to invent one. And with the current economic conditions, probably has no real future either.... What is really funny, apart from the expansion Pittsburgh Penguins, no team in NHL history ever used the logo in the circle concept. Many used simply their name on the jersey, or even a letter representation, so I don't see how this is even remotely retro when it wasn't even tro to begin with...
  11. First time post. The one logo that has really grown on me is the update Hamilton Tiger-Cats logo. While I still love and prefer the classic one, it's what I use on my licence plate, but the updated one actually looks better on the football helmets. The classic logo on the helmets tend to get muddied and undefined from a distance (no doubt due to it's busyness) but the new ones really pop, showing great clarity and even gives the illusion that tiger is leaping from the helmet.
