  1. oh Probably why they didn't bat an eye at Jamison being called Garry Jamieson.. Glendale and the Phoenix Coyotes: The gift that keeps on giving...
  2. He's actually a resident of Kelowna, B.C. (or at least his business is located there), his partner in this is a guy named Pluchinske who is from Winnipeg. I'm pretty sure that Glendale thought it was San Jose Jamison this whole time.... As I said on HF...Best...Christmas...Ever....
  3. Just when it appears things could not get any weirder with the sale of the Phoenix Coyotes.... Yep, Jamison got taken in a scam....
  4. Funny how Glendale's concept for 'progess' looks so much like standing still. I will say the same thing that I said two years ago when it was said that Jerry Reinsdorf was seeking to buy the franchise... ...if there was a deal to be made, it would have been made already... The reality is that this franchise is already mentally packing up the moving vans and picking out floral patterns for the new place...
  5. Licks has the best burgers on the planet. Even burping sometime afterwards causes one to relive the joy of eating that burger...
  6. The only thing we go to Buffalo for is the Walden Galleria, though we did go see Canada/Russia play at the World Jrs. last year...
  7. You know, I was going to come in here write a big long dissertation here. But some reason I forget what I was going to write...or even what thread this is....
  8. For those of us that don't worship at the alter of the NFL, this would be...? (Unless you were commenting on the colours of New Orleans Saints being black, white and pewter while the Cleveland Browns being Charcoal and Slate, I apologize...) (Just noticed the photobucket name: norb_Taylor.jpg. Who the fail is Norb Taylor?)
  9. Just to add to what AnythingChicago said, the signatures need to be on another photo sharing site first like Photobucket. You can use the URL from this site if you wish, but if for some reason the originator of the image deletes it, then your signature goes poof. As for the mini-championship banners, you can request a custom made one from here... All-Sports Championship Signature Images In fact, the entire Concept section has multiple thread devoted to avatar and signature custom creation by some of the talented members of this forum.
  10. 1893 Stanley Cup http://www.greatesthockeylegends.com/2010/04/1893-stanley-cup-ring.html Does this mean that championship rings started in Canada and then migrated to the U.S.? Are there even older rings for any sport out there? And only $60,000 for that ring?
  11. Most, I think, would have mixed feelings about that....
  12. Jackpot! That's what I was looking for, especially the accompanying article... So it would seem that at that time it was an option for purchase, much like graduation rings today, which means there might be even older rings out there. It also explains why the practice seemed to have spread so quickly to other leagues and other sports. Now I'm curious about what is the oldest Grey Cup ring (which might in fact be 1928) or the oldest Stanley Cup ring?
  13. Seeing the 1928 Grey Cup ring (above) surprised me, I would not have thought they would have given out Grey Cup rings that far back. I looked back through this thread, and the only one that is older was a 1927 New York Yankees ring (sadly the picture no long posts. I should also note that a 1932 Yankees ring was mislabeled as 1923). This got me thinking, when were championship rings first given out? What is the oldest Championship ring out there?
  14. I got these from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Alumni Association website... 1928 Hamilton Tigers Grey Cup 1965 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Grey Cup 1972 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Grey Cup 1999 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Grey Cup
  15. Our junior-A team, the Red Wings, wore those jerseys a while ago for a game. I did not know that, probably not the first time a real team wore the jersey/sweater of a fictional team. I think the Johnstown Chiefs has been worn by a team or teams in the past... I wonder if the Bulldogs will ever wear a Steelheads jersey?
  16. I worked a lot of days doing background on that television show, did a couple of days on Playmakers, and likewise a few days on another series called MVP... ...and lets not forget Hamilton's other famous fictional team, and yet another Mustang team...
