  1. I often (semi-jokingly) think to myself that the officials calling a game involving the Steelers have Terrible Towels in their pockets instead of the standard yellow flags. Maybe it’s low-hanging fruit, maybe it’s not, but I can’t help but wonder if a sports columnist cartoon has addressed said issue.
  2. Steelers/Bengals looking pretty good, if you ask me. Pittsburgh is usually a given and it’s always nice to see Cincinnati break out their Orange alternates against a team that also doesn’t wear any trace of orange.
  3. I don’t get it, either. You’d think that Nike and/or whatever socks/leggings manufacturer would figure out how to make colored/striped leggings, but then again, we’ve all thought they would’ve figured out how to make metallic pants again.
  4. Week 12 Thursday Green Bay at Detroit Washington at Dallas San Francisco at Seattle Friday Miami at NY Jets Sunday Tampa Bay at Indianapolis New England at NY Giants Pittsburgh at Cincinnati Carolina at Tennessee New Orleans at Atlanta Jacksonville at Houston Cleveland at Denver LA Rams at Arizona Buffalo at Philadelphia Kansas City at Las Vegas Baltimore "at" LA Chargers Monday Chicago at Minnesota
  5. Some observations/thoughts from today: —Monochrome jerseys/pants aren’t my favorite, but they look 100x better when the socks contrast. Good move on the Panthers’ part here. —Steelers/Browns looked great, as it always should. IMO Cleveland should use the white facemasks full time. The only thing that would make this better are block numbers for Pittsburgh and striped socks for Cleveland. —Lions in monochrome spoiled what should’ve been a good uni matchup between Chicago and Detroit. —Jets/Bills looks like Jets/Bills. —Houston’s mix-n-match doesn’t look as bad as it should, though red socks would help this look a bit. Arizona should’ve based their entire set around the road uniform, and they should mix-n-match their red and white elements every now and again. —Other than the green socks, I liked Green Bay’s throwbacks. Did those Packer uniforms use green sock with the green jerseys and pants, or were yellow socks used?
  6. The Washington Commanders/Football Team/[Redacted] uniforms should never have changed, as has been said above. Goes to show that, even when he’s out of the picture, Dan Snyder’s stench is still found on the organization. (BTW, has there been any more news about the new franchise ownership group looking to move away from the Commanders name?)
  7. Those jerseys are great; I’d be fine with the Jazz in purple and black; I’d love to see Utah base a new set around that. The court, on the other hand, just like most if not all the in-season tournament courts, not so much.
  8. Week 11 Thursday Cincinnati at Baltimore Sunday Pittsburgh at Cleveland Las Vegas at Miami LA Chargers at Green Bay Tennessee at Jacksonville Arizona at Houston Chicago at Detroit Dallas at Carolina NY Giants at Washington NY Jets at Buffalo Tampa Bay at San Francisco Seattle at LA Rams Minnesota at Denver Monday Philadelphia at Kansas City
  9. 10. Also a Panthers fan. While I can’t say that I’ve had the opportunity to see all of Bryce Young’s play, I lay the blame at the feet of one person—team owner David Tepper. Releasing the string of QBs as Carolina did to get to this point reeks of knee-jerk reaction after knee-jerk reaction. Are we sure Tepper’s not trying to pull some kind of Major League situation here? I wouldn’t entirely be surprised if we found out he’s been on the phone with San Antonio, San Diego, or St. Louis groups for a while now.
  11. I knew San Jose was bad, but I didn’t know they were this bad. My SO and I saw them play the Kings at the Salt Lake preseason game, where they tied the game and took it into overtime, only to lose 17 seconds in. I even recall a spectator shout “The Sharks are an AHL team!” When the Sharks scored the tying goal—little did I know how on-the-nose he was.
  12. Week 9 Thursday Tennessee at Pittsburgh Sunday Miami “at” Kansas City Minnesota at Atlanta Chicago at New Orleans LA Rams at Green Bay Washington at New England Seattle at Baltimore Tampa Bay at Houston Arizona at Cleveland Indianapolis at Carolina NY Giants at Las Vegas Dallas at Philadelphia Buffalo at Cincinnati Monday LA Chargers at NY Jets
  13. Ultimately, I agree. That doesn’t sound like a bad idea for the Texans, to be honest. In that case, however, the Titans should wear the Light Blue and Red. (Of course, we know they wouldn’t.)
  14. Some thoughts so far… NE/MIA looked wonderful. The Dolphins could go back to these throwbacks and I wouldn’t bat an eye. It was good to see Seattle’s and Houston’s Tennessee’s throwbacks. I don’t care as much who, but the sooner that either the Titans or Texans lay claim to the Luv Ya Blue and Red look, the better. Eagles in green pants and white socks! Commanders look awful, as usual. They should scrap these uniforms and go back to the Washington Football Team look, yellow pants and all. Saints should torch their plain white (and black) pants and wear their gold pants full-time, then perhaps go with striped black and white pants as alternate options.
  15. Week 8 Thursday Tampa Bay at Buffalo Sunday NY Jets at NY Giants Jacksonville at Pittsburgh Minnesota at Green Bay Philadelphia at Washington LA Rams at Dallas Atlanta at Tennessee New England at Miami New Orleans at Indianapolis Houston at Carolina Cleveland at Seattle Cincinnati at San Francisco Baltimore at Arizona Kansas City at Denver Chicago at LA Chargers Monday Las Vegas at Detroit
  16. Speaking of the Seahawks: While their current set is far from perfect, it’s refreshing to see them not wear monochrome at home. If/when they move away from this set, I’d love to see something based on the general pre-2002 look but with the current Navy/Lime Green/Gray (Silver) color palette; I think @Sport made a concept like this.
  17. The Eagles look fan-freaking-tastic in their throwbacks tonight. I agree that either porting the current set over (with some cleaning up of the numerals) or going double green would be refreshing for Philly’s brand.
  18. I’m looking really silly switching my pick for DET/BAL to Detroit right now…
  19. Regarding the Bucs’ shades or Red and Orange—how would the darker red and the creamsicle orange look together? Similarly, how would the current darker orange look with pewter as the base for an alternate jersey?
  20. Week 7 Thursday Jacksonville at New Orleans Sunday Atlanta at Tampa Bay Las Vegas at Chicago Detroit at Baltimore Cleveland at Indianapolis Washington at NY Giants Buffalo at New England Arizona at Seattle Green Bay at Denver Pittsburgh at LA Rams LA Chargers at Kansas City Miami at Philadelphia Monday San Francisco at Minnesota
  21. Titans, yes. Ravens, not so much—they’re a set of non-black socks and pants stripes away from looking good in my book.
  22. Week 6 Thursday Denver at Kansas City Sunday Baltimore at Tennessee Washington at Atlanta Seattle at Cincinnati Minnesota at Chicago San Francisco at Cleveland Carolina at Miami New Orleans at Houston Indianapolis at Jacksonville New England at Las Vegas Philadelphia at NY Jets Arizona at LA Rams Detroit at Tampa Bay NY Giants at Buffalo Monday Dallas "at" LA Chargers
  23. Week 5 Thursday Chicago at Washington (the moment Dick Butkus died I should've known that the Hogs were cooked) Sunday Jacksonville "at" Buffalo New Orleans at New England Houston at Atlanta Tennessee at Indianapolis Carolina at Detroit Baltimore at Pittsburgh NY Giants at Miami Philadelphia at LA Rams Cincinnati at Arizona Kansas City at Minnesota NY Jets at Denver Dallas at San Francisco Monday Green Bay at Las Vegas
  24. Chiefs/NYJ looking superb tonight.. The Jets should just make a set based on the 1980s-early 1990s look and stick with it, possibly with a Namath-era throwback as an alternate. (Heck, they could swing between the two sets every decade or so and I wouldn’t mind.) I tried giving the new set a chance, but it hasn’t aged well, given how averse to green the Jets have gotten since the switch.
