  1. Kansas City Royals Not counting their early-2000's experiement with black hats, black vests, and drop shadow numbers - KC has always had pretty good uniforms. If I have one complaint, it's that at times they've looked a bit too much like a dollar store version of the Dodgers. I tried to remedy that here. Sleeve logos (which feature the gold crown) are enlarged a bit on all sets. Home, road, and royal blue alternate jerseys get headspoon stripes, while the powder blue alternate uniforms get a matching powder blue hat. Road grey uniforms go back to using a cursive font, while the road blue uniforms use the more traditional block number style. Finally, a Kansas City Monarchs throwback jersey - in honor of the legendary KC teams from the Negro Leagues - is brought back into the mix.
  2. Houston Astros v2 A full set inspired by their City Connect uniforms - NASA font, gradient stripes, and the alternate logo used full time. Moreover, the orange alternate uses the rainbow gradient pattern throughout the whole jersey.
  3. Houston Astros Houston has a perfectly respectable look, they did well by switching from their 2000's red & black uniforms to their current set back in 2012. The colors and old-school number font really fit their brand well IMO. If I have one nitpick, it's that their current set seems just a bit generic. I changed these up to include a 5-point star on the front of the jerseys, in place of the player numbers, reminiscent of their uniforms from the 1980's. I also used a bit more orange throughout, which includes bringing back orange hats & socks which can be mixed and matched with any set. Orange and navy blue alternate uniforms are also changed up a bit, while rainbow throwback jerseys (which might be the most ridiculous, and also the most fun baseball uniforms ever created) are reintroduced. Second alternate uniform includes a navy blue base, with NASA-inspired font and hats inspired by their excellent City Connect uniforms.
  4. Nice work with Philly, that would easily be an upgrade from their current set. My only nitpick is, the home uniform and throwback look awfully similar. Maybe change up the the pants combination (green jersey w/ white pants, white jersey w/ green pants) to add a little more contrast?
  5. Detroit Tigers Quite possibly my favorite primary uniform in the game, this one was a breeze. Home and Road uniforms stay as is, with a few minor changes. I dropped the white outlining from the road uniform, leaving a cleaner navy blue & orange number style. Home uniforms go back to using the classic style Old English "D" that the Tigers have used historically (normally I'm OCD about symmetry, but this is one where I actually enjoy the juxtaposition between the hats and jerseys). Navy blue alternate jersey uses the newer style "D" instead. I also added a white alternate jersey which utilizes a cursive "Tigers" wordmark in the same style as the road uniforms. Throwback uniforms pay homage to the 1968 and 1984 World Series-winning teams.
  6. Thanks, I appreciate it! And nice catch, I totally missed that mixup on the purple jersey. Honestly, I had never considered dropping black from the Rockies completely. But looking at it again, it actually works fine without black. Here's an updated version where purple become the primary color:
  7. Colorado Rockies I'm probably in the minority in saying this, but I actually don't hate the Colorado Rockies uniforms. They have a unique color scheme and a good primary logo; if anything, they're just overly conservative with their designs. My changes are summarized below: I took the font style from their wordmarks, and used this style for the numbers as well Dropped the full primary logo from the sleeves, and used their simplified mountain logo in its place Added a second white uniform, with a simpler design mirroring the road uniform and more prominent use of purple Batting helmets use a two-tone design, with a blend of indigo purple and black I updated the shade of the road grey uniforms to have a slight green-ish tint Purple alternate jersey gets stripes on the sleeves/headspoon, to match the style of the road uniforms. This jersey is also paired with purple hat & socks Added a new alternate jersey, using the same dark green color as their beautiful City Connect jerseys The beloved black vest uniforms make a comeback
  8. That makes sense. I made a couple other versions of the blue jersey, couldn't really decide which one I liked better. Here's those others:
  9. Cleveland Guardians Although the Guardians are MLB's youngest current brand, the franchise themselves is one of MLB's oldest. As such, I think it's a good idea to stick with a traditional design for this team (which for the most part, they have). Some of the tweaks I made to these include: Added player numbers to the front of the jerseys Added red outlines to the sleeves stripes Using a classic striping style on the socks Changed up the navy alternate jersey to include white headspoon stripes Additionally, I included two "faux back" alternate uniforms, as the Guardians themselves aren't really old enough to have a throwback but the Indians certainly are. First one is in the style of Cleveland's excellent 1980's Home uniforms, with tri-color shoulder stripes and navy blue numbers. The nostalgia is strong with this set. Second set is in the style of the 1950's Cleveland home uniforms, with a cream base and red hats with a traditional block "C" logo.
  10. Cincinnati Reds For this version, the Reds retain their current number font but go back to more of a traditional color pattern. No more black drop shadowing on the home & road uniforms, while the red alternate uniforms get a more subtle shadow pattern that mirrors their primary logo. A white uniform with a cursive "Reds" script and stipes in the style of of their 1990 uniforms is added as a second alternate. Thowback option is based on their 1956 uniforms, but with headspoon stripes added and their super old-school "C" logo on the hats.
  11. Thanks, these turned out nicer than I thought they would. And I appreciate your suggestion, green was indeed a good idea!
  12. Chicago White Sox The ChiSox have a pretty sleak (if not a bit boring) look. Unquestionably, the stylized "Sox" logo along with the classic colors and pinstripes is their best uniform combination. So no changes on that front. However, I wondered if an update in some other areas might really set these apart, so they don't just look like a Sam's Club version of the Yankees? With that goal in mind, I took some design cues from last season's excellent City Connect jerseys and used a Gothic number font for all the uniforms. I also re-incorporated the old secondary diamond logo as a sleeve patch on the jerseys. Road grey pants go back to using a two-stripe pattern to match the road gray jerseys. Black alternate jersey no longer uses a double-outline stroke on the names and numbers, as I think it looks cleaner with just a single outline. Finally, I created an alternate white jersey with a cursive "White Sox" logo in the same style as the road uniforms. There are two throwback uniforms. First one is a variation of the 80's throwback look, this time in a road uniform configuration. 2nd throwback jersey is a variation of their incredible Field of Dreams Game jerseys, which are the style that the famous 1919 "Black Sox" wore. If you build it, he will freaking come, bruh.
  13. Chicago Cubs As someone who was born & raised in Wisconsin, it's my duty to preface this post with an obligatory "F*** THE CUBS." (Just kidding. Sort of). All jokes aside - as a fan of the game and someone who appreciates the aeshetics of the game, I gotta tip my cap. The Cubs have always had great uniforms. Their current set, especially, is really good. So with that being said, the home and road uniforms stay as is. The blue alternates are also pretty great, though I was a bit disappointed they dropped the National League logo from the right sleeve. It was totally unnecessary and random, but it somehow worked. So I added it back. Second alternate uniform is a brand new creation, a cream jersey in the style of the Cubbies 90's road uniforms. I know some people hated these, thought the cursive "Cubs" looked too much like "Cuba", etc etc. Whatever. I like 'em, they're an interesting departure from the standard look. This set includes red numbers, a red-brimmed cap, and a cap logo based on their City Connect uniforms. The cream pants from the alternate uniform are also used for their home throwback jerseys, which is a slight variation I made based on their Field of Dreams Game uniforms. The other throwback uniform is a baby blue jersey with white pinstripes, which mirrors their 80's road uniforms. Thanks to everyone who's given this series a look so far, and thanks especially to the everyone who's given feedback. I really appreciate it. The ChiSox will be up next!
  14. Awesome idea! IDK though, it looks a little washed out to me... maybe someone who is good with Photoshop could replicate the actual pattern from the Monster and it would look better. Thoughts?
  15. Boston Red Sox v1.5 The Red Sox replace navy blue with green across the board. I also added a couple throwback looks, one from the 1975 pennant-winning team and the other a slightly modified version from their 1986 squad.
  16. Good call on the stirrups, I totally forgot about those. Those work good with the throwback jerseys, I updated them on the original post. Not crazy about the idea of the BoSox going green full time, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot.
  17. What about the San Antonio Monarchs? There's this massive migration of monarch butterflies every year near there, which is pretty famous evidently. It would also be a nod to the the Kansas City Monarchs, who were a famous team from the Negro Leagues.
  18. Boston Red Sox Next to the Yankees and Dodgers, these might be the most iconic uniforms in baseball. Once you turn on the TV, you just instantly know who's playing. The font, the colors, the stylized red B on the dark blue hat - these just work. With that said, the main change I made was to keep the design consistent across all sets. Single headspoon stripe is now standard across all 4 main sets. I also stuck with the tradition of not using player names on the Home jerseys (white and red), while the Road jerseys (gray and blue) keep the player names. There are two new uniforms for this set. First one is a red jersey that pays tribute to Boston's large Irish population. Hats + batting helmet are green, jersey text is green w/ white outline, and MLB logo on the back is colored green, white, and orange like the Irish flag. I also added a shamrock logo on the left sleeve, which was inspired by their old St. Patrick's Day jerseys. Throwback look is a toned down version of their 80's road uniforms, only with the proprietary Red Sox font used instead of plain block numbers.
  19. Baltimore Orioles Overall, I'd say the Orioles are at their peak aesthetic with the current uniforms. Perfect example of a "faux back" done right. As such, my changes were mostly subtle. Stripe pattern on the sleeves + pants is tweaked, and black alternate jersey uses a cursive "Baltimore" wordmark instead of "Orioles". There are two throwback looks, first one is my personal favorite Orioles look, the 90's / early 2000's era home uniforms. Second one is a true 80's style uniform, with an orange pullover jersey and old school Orioles wordmark. The current primary hat is used along with this set, as their throwback logo is so similar it would just be redundant to create another.
  20. Love these! Really well done, all 3 are upgrades over their current uniforms IMO. Just curious, is that Captain's "badge" (literally a badge) on the green jersey something something the Stars do currently? Or did you come up with that yourself?
  21. Awesome work, this is really well done.
  22. Right on, I've always been partial to the Milwaukee Braves -style jerseys myself. I remember a while back I did a Braves franchise on MLB The Show, and inevitably I would end up equipping the throwback jerseys every game
  23. Atlanta Braves v2 For the sake of brevity, I'm starting a new post for the Braves. Here's what they would look like with cream becoming the full-time home color, and contrasting navy-blue Tomahawks. 70's throwbacks are grouped in here to have some variation.
  24. Thank you, I actually just modified this wordmark I found on Wikipedia. As far as I know they don't use this officially, but it seemed to work well for what I was going for: I never really intended on keeping the "D-Backs" alternate, I just kept it in for comparison sake. I removed it for now, might as well keep the original thread tidy. As for the Braves, here's what they would look like with just single stripes. This is pretty much what they wear currently, I mainly wanted to keep the double stripes to match the pants but it definitely works this way:
