  1. Every layer of that post re: Broncos is not credible. I wouldn't read into it at all.
  2. Don't underestimate the sway of some marketing person either internally with Detroit or at Nike being like, "yo, that all-black slaps" and everyone being like yeah the Cardinals did it! The Falcons did it! We need to do it!
  3. "Gentleman, bear witness. While I've been mourning the Falc-jackings that never were, one of them has been unfolding here before me. This is no 2023 NFL changes thread, this is a party."
  4. 1) "The Falcons have never had a great uniform" 2) "We're here because demographically we have to be" I'm sorry, but what?
  5. This reads like I've been mistaken for a Saints fan. I'm... I am going to need the rest of the year to recover from this...
  6. I don't mind that change for the Mets. I have always had appreciation that they iterate the cap logos to match the jerseys -- like the road caps from a few years ago that had the silver monogram outlined in orange to match the shirt -- but in both the silver and this case, the cap logo is a bit too busy. Doesn't need to be, and it's okay for cap logos to not entirely follow the style of a jersey script. This will probably help with cap sales too, which wouldn't surprise me if that is why they changed it.
  7. Not entirely against adidas bringing back these tapered, swooshy stripes. Will need to see it on a full kit. Feels so mid 2000s to me. Nike utilizing single side panels is not my favorite, especially if it continues down the shorts (Tottenham's third kit, for example)
  8. The NBA is going to look better today than it has in years.
  9. The Raiders regular road uniforms are perfect. I don't get the motivation to switch to something where the numbers are harder to see. Personally would love to see a glossy black helmet and 1960 throwback uniform. Would probably confuse the hell out of people though.
  10. Only once. Cowboys-Dolphins just looks incredible. It's a shame professional football didn't take the same liking to traditional styles as MLB has. I enjoy a good modern uniform plenty, but if i am honest with myself none of them ever look as good as the classics. Just sitting here daydreaming about how a 1980s Falcons road uniform vs this Dolphins set in 4K ... sheesh
  11. Can we give a shout out to the USF equipment team and their first-year HC for clearly bringing them back to Earth with their uniforms this season?
  12. Resident Chattanooga soccer thought leader here: When Red Wolves came into the picture, they actually snatched up one of the key front office members from CFC and did their best to literally just absorb CFC's front office/operations people as whole. As well, they attempted to secure Finley Stadium for home games which threatened CFC's existence. As an NPSL club, CFC truly relies on playing at Finley as a reason for why the club has seen so much success -- match days in town are pretty great, surrounded by breweries and other things to do. It's a huge boon for them to be there. USL L1 ignorantly thought that just declaring a professional soccer club would mean the end of CFC. It totally backfired. They failed to absorb all of CFC's people, and the brash attempt at a takeover got folks so riled up that CFC used the tension in the room to spark a fundraising campaign so that they too could be a professional club if they found a fit (soon after joining NISA). CFC are essentially now the Green Bay Packers of soccer, and this campaign even cultivated a relationship from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in Germany (both clubs have been sponsored by VW which has obviously a massive presence in Wolfsburg and, as well, in Chattanooga). Or in short, Red Wolves absolutely played themselves. Instead they had to settle for building a small but decent venue off of I-75 over in East Ridge. It's not a nice area, but it does have a considerable hispanic population that theoretically makes it a place to plop down a soccer team. But there's not really anything Chattanooga about it. Just about everyone I know says they would support CFC over the USL L1 team even if they dropped back into being a semi-pro team or even completely amateur (and that they hate the USL as a whole). The best thing that the Red Wolves franchise has going for it is actually its relationship with the town of Dalton, GA, which is a soccer hotbed and has become a foundation with their academy and USL L2 team, Dalton Red Wolves. They probably could have built the same stadium there and actually see the same numbers at the gates as they do being in East Ridge. But in terms of being a "Chattanooga" team, nobody in Chattanooga gives a s---- they exist. I type all of this to say, it might be best if the club completely rebrands...maybe adopt a generic name that doesn't declaratively say they're a Chattanooga team, but instead something more geographic to north Georgia/Tennessee line. There's already a similarly branded team in that league with South Georgia Tormenta, who most people simply refer to as Tormenta.
  13. It's a child replica. That's why the logos look big.
  14. I appreciate the Rams current uniforms. The helmet color/finish looks wonderful Yeah, the number application is different, but it's not bad. The numbers are legible, the swooshes in the trim are subtle but tasteful. Yesterday was a good example of how the blue pants should be worn ... it's a gradient doing what it's supposed to do and isn't distracting. My only issue is that the "bone" jerseys are in a different category. The sleeve cap area is a hodgepodge of sloppiness...looks like a broken AI program spit it out. The use of white on bone in both the jersey and pants don't make sense. If the Rams just ditched the bone uniform, they're fine. Contemporary, colorful, but still unquestionably the Rams at first glance. I would still personally wish for the 2018-19 Super Bowl year uniforms for home and then a white-and-navy "clash" to wear on the road and for select home games -- really disappointed they didn't go that route when it kind of felt like they were leaning that way with the white horned helmets before the rebrand. Their biggest problem is the logo set, if anything
  15. This was the same logic for the Falcons adding some shine to the helmet logo key line and silver/chrome/whatever you want to call it facemasks. Which, I really like their new helmet and the tie-in to the stadium aesthetic. I understand these boards are very split on them though.
  16. No kidding. I get excited about watching TNF now because it's the only time when I am watching the NFL that my 65" 4K TV gets to strut its stuff. The quality of FOX and CBS broadcasts (unless you're getting their flagship game) is horrendous.
  17. I have to say, Arizona's road uniform as looked much better than I anticipated. The one thing I feared was that the shiny material would make the silver sometimes appear as white depending on lighting, but that hasn't been the case in most times I have seen highlights. It's a really nice modern iteration of a classic look -- almost how soccer teams like to re-imagine (well, kind of have to out of necessity) their iconic kit conventions, Arizona did a nice job, in hindsight, of giving us a re-imagined version of their classic look, instead of simply reverting. The choice to keep the grey facemask to bring the combo together was contrarian, but thoughtful. Can't say as many nice words about the home.
  18. Heat at home is unwatchable. Gracious, what was the NBA thinking?
  19. Not entirely against Georgia Tech's helmet decision for tonight. Those uniforms have grown on me a lot (mainly because so many players wear cut-off pants that the issue with the truncated pant stripe isn't as noticeable). The material Adidas used for the numbers and center stripe on the pants does a nice job of finally giving us dazzle gold instead of a flat mustardy look -- ditto with the nice finish on the decals. I know it's a bit unbalanced of a uniform with the gold pants, but they're going to look great.
  20. So, if the Saints hadn't introduced that terrible high school team helmet, we would have a really good throwback vs throwback matchup on Sunday against Atlanta. Just mind-numbingly dumb uniform decisions made by half this league on a weekly basis.
  21. So, I am interested in the quotes we got in The Athletic player poll related to uniform rules. I have assumed this entire time the trend in the "leggings" look in the NFL was a result of the league not having a mandate to wear team socks. Yet, now we are learning it's because the league has a mandate that the player's legs have to be covered? First off...why? College teams with short socks look fine, in fact the only team I can think of that has socks as part of the uniform is Michigan. If the league is that interested in the player's legs being covered, for reasons I don't understand, why aren't we wearing team colored or even team detailed socks that look pro style? Again, this is all the damn Saints fault. They started this junk. FTS.
  22. Vote for worst of the day: Titans-Jaguars. 1) A black helmet/black jersey + white pants/white socks looks like somebody was filling out a concept on a template and didn't get to anything below the belt (especially because JAX doesn't have any details on the pants). It looks SO BAD, I am genuinely amazed that a professional sports franchise would wear it without multiple people being like, "Hey, this looks goofy af." 2) What makes it look even weirder is Tennessee has blue socks, as the road team. So the road team has colored socks with white pants, but the home team has white socks with the white pants. Man, if one of us could go back 10 years in a time machine and post on these boards what would happen with the NFL and pants/socks, people would have believed it to be an April Fool's joke. *gulp* it is very real, and between this trend and the NBA in-season tournament courts, I am kind of convinced humans are devolving as a species right now. Like, we are getting dumber.
  23. These are my favorite NFL uniforms of all time. They were a modern update of a previous look that made it better -- the tiger stripes were cleaned up and more defined compared to the previous version. But, at least with this change, Cincinnati didn't try to remake the wheel like so many other teams in that era were starting to do. I really respect that. During the Reebok piping craze that came during this modernization wave, the Bengals "update" in 2004 (?) was welcomed by some because every one else was doing it. Keeping up with the Joneses. But they never ever should have changed from these. The full body tiger logo was the cherry on top.
