Hi all, looking for the serif font that many NBA teams use for NOB of jerseys (top one in the image below). Quite possibly a custom font, but does anyone know of something similar?
You'll need to download the NBA section of These: http://eriqjaffe.50webs.com

i'm looking for these fonts:
Slant http://www.dafont.com/slant.font is close but this is likely a custom font.
ITC Avant Garde Gothic, probably Bold or Black if available.... Also includes the special characters from "ITC Avant Garde Gothic Alternates"

Talk about a lame one. Found this ages ago and have been meaning to post it.
I think the Timberwovles broke that record the next year (playing in the Metrodome) and had (still have?) a banner. I don't know whether the Wolves' record still stands. I kinda wanna say the Raports broke it.
Minnesota broke the league attendance record in 88-89, with 1,072,572. After a moderate seach of google, I believe the record still stands for a season.
Pretty amazing to think they played a game that first year in front of 49,000+ fans at the Metrodome, and it was only the third largest attendance for a game in NBA history. The largest was 62,000 in the Georgia Dome to see the Hawks vs. Bulls in 1998.
...that concludes your NBA attendance lesson for the day.

I consider a brand new franchise, in it's second year, leading the league in attendance, a much higher honor than simply making the playoffs. The Hornets lead the league in attendance from 1990-1997, I believe.

The Super Bowl font is called Endzone Tech, and is a proprietary font, and they're aren't really any freeware fonts similar.
However, if you do some digging around NFL publications, in .pdf form, you should be able to find it.

The fonts were created in conjunction with Eriq Jaffe, and our own LMU helping out. Berthold City Bold is a commercial font, however, you can download freeware versions of it. It's a slippery slope, and a personal judgement call...

What is the font the Suns use on their numbers (below)? Looks very much like Berthold City/Square Slabserif 711 Bold, but it's not identical. The 1, for example, is different.
Eriq Jaffe's NBA fonts contains the SUNS file that should work for you.

Does anyone know what the font is called on the Dolphins jersey (name on back) from making 1966 to 1986?
I know it's a type of block style lettering but I'm not sure which kind. The 'S' is slightly slanted on CSONKA.
http://catalog.greyflannelauctions.com/LotDetail.aspx?lotid=28165
Thanks!
It's still NFL Block lettering, although you can alter the "S".
Honestly, I think it may just be a wrinkle in the jersey causing a strange perspective...

Anyone know the font used for the scripts on this fantasy set?
If you can't find Home Run as mentioned before, theres a freeware, called Lobster
-
Okay guys, need your help with this one, i've racked my brain for two hours, through countless pages. I feel like i've seen the "S" a million times before, any help?
Thanks!

Ugh. Myriad? I know it's fine and dandy, but it's slowly becoming my "Comic Sans"

Any of my fellow font gurus about to identify the font used for Davidson's image below?

Specifically the "California" font, but I really enjoy both. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know of good substitutes for either NFL official font (Endzone and Orbit)?
Link to NFL Style Guide. Page 22 and 23.
I can send you the Endzone fonts...
Wouldn't mind having the working fonts instead of plundering the .pdf everytime I need to use it... thanks!: cdixondesign@carolina.rr.com

Sometimes I dont think you guys even try.
Apples font is Myriad Pro Semibold.

Oaklahomas Big 12 ring
Awesome ring! But why are the logo and letters inverted?
The ring is upside down. Hard to tell but with intricate detail, but the OSU is facing outward.

Anyone know of a free font similar to Aviano Future Heavy Fast?
Not exactly the same, but you could build upon the "Spiderman" font:

the main text... i feel like I've seen it before but can't remember
I believe this was designed IIRC by our very own Matt Walker, aka Walk Design. Shoot him a PM and he can point you in the right direction...

Where can I download Jets Bold?
You most likely can't download is as a typical font, but can piece it together using Media guides in .pdf format...

Wow, great post ridenlow, the Laser etching is fascinating, quite a process......

Hey guys, normally I can spot Fonts, but this one has me stumped, and i've seen it before. This past week the High School I PA for played Byrnes HS, a national powerhouse, and they have beautiful Uniforms. I can't however find the numerset they have, and it's driving me nuts. I've looked through eriqjaffe's stuff, and can't find anything remotely close there or online. Any help would be appreciated! The closest i've come is the outer numbers being similar to what Colorado uses for football...
...and just for giggles, to let you know that a huge program goes hand in hand with great uniforms, THIS was there scoreboard, and yes, it's a HIGH SCHOOL

I won't go too overboard, but add me to the list of the ones who loved the Devil Rays multicolor gradient-era logos/uniforms.
Name That Font!

Actually, it's Tungsten Bold. But yeah, Compacta is freeware and will get you close enough.
