  1. I am looking for a Vector Softball uniform template and a vector Lacrosse uniform template. Anyone have one?
  2. One thing I would really love for you to do is change the way the forums are titled and monitored. It makes NO sense to have a 222 page thread on ANYTHING. If someone makes a post first that has a very specific comment about one aspect pertaining to Nike NFL uniforms, every single Nike NFL post that comes next shouldn't live under that original post name because it won't make sense in most cases. There could be tons of sub contexts or events that fall under that category is way too confining and if the original name of the post is too descriptive, you could overlook it. The thread name should change to something generic like "Nike NFL 2012". Also, can you just delete any smarmy user you makes a big deal that something was covered in a previous thread? That is the antithesis of social behavior. If you could use tags for major topics like NIKE NFL that catches it all and let the individual make posts that are more context based that live on their own, you could serve both groups rather than having these over judicious people trying to control the spontaneous conversation that you need to generate more and more conversation.
  3. Perfect! Don't change a thing! (Maybe add a ponytail, but that's it!)
  4. I love them a lot too. Rutgers never had a brand. The last uniforms were supposed to create a generic tradition that never existed there. I think these are great and makes Rutgers feel like a more national brand ala Utah State.
  5. Is it me? Or does that Cardinals jersey approach seem to be less of red shoulders that it is just having a white torso cut out like the Nike BYU jersey they got in trouble for a few years back Looking good. Got any other visuals of team's away jerseys? Beyond the ones we've already seen, of course. I tried looking through FansEdge (the image source), but no luck. Overall I love the Nike stuff, but my only beef is that the Jets shoulder patch goes over the seems and it REALLY bugs me. It looks like an after thought.
  6. It is absolutely not redundant. It reinforces the meaning of the guy which most of the world is not familiar with.
  7. This to me seems like the obvious solution if they were even interested in making another change. It's not more cartoon-y than the whale
  8. The worst part about the uniform word mark, is the emphasis for some reason is on the "S" which of all three letters in USA might be the least important. For that fact alone it makes for a bad design.
  9. Yes. Riddell, Rawlings and Schutt will still provide helmets to the players. Nike has unis and apparel, and New Era has sideline caps. on change that will happen in next season is that riddell loses the "official helmet" designation as that contract expires and the nfl has opted not to sell those rights anymore...I also believe that the rawlings helmet will be nike branded next year...with that change I'm not sure if all manufacturer marks will be allowed or if they will all be covered over like the non ridell brands now. Wow, Rawlings still makes helmets? That takes me back to like Marino rookie year times. Just off the top of my head, I would say the Ravens would look the best in a Matte helmet. Steelers too because of the fact that they have a black side to the helmet and a textured finish would make sense.
  10. I'd rather them add a stripe to the pants. I think adding a single blue stripe to the pants and returning the collar/sleeve trim would be just enough to signify a new change. Also, your signature design is awesome. See, very few people will notice little jersey and pant changes in the long run. But the helmet, the helmet is untouchable. Besides, Penn State takes such pride in their tradition, I think the removal of the helmet stripe would represent almost a "state of mourning/remembrance", almost like Ash Wednesday.... i dont get your analogy Ash Wednesday (via Wikipedia) Sounds like an action that would be appropriate for a school like Penn State, no? I think by removing really the only "decoration" they have (the helmet stripe), it would send a message of regret/protest (depending upon what side of the JoePa fence you sit on). I'm fairly certain that if they removed the stripe, you'd be the only one who would interpret it as a message of regret/protest. The real world would just think that they removed a stripe. Come on BBTV, you really think that we'd be the only ones who would pick up on that? Alumni, students, TV broadcasters, no one else would realize that "Hey, something is different about these Penn State uniforms now that Joe Paterno is gone..." and put 2 and 2 together? Especially with the extreme microscope that Saturday's game will be under? I don't think just taking the stripe away is enough of a change, it would probably just look like an error. What if they stayed in the same wheel house as your thought and added an extra stripe so they had 2 stripes on the helmet and maybe carry it on to the pants. That way it could be a reflection of the 2nd stage of Penn State football (I would also add bad the collars because I thought that change was just plain dumb anyways). To appease people who love the logo, what about just adding the oval logo to the pants on either side on top of the stripes as a symbol of change and moving forward, but all of these changes are small enough to stay inside of their brand.
  11. Counting the block numbers, is that 5 or 6 different fonts now in all?
  12. No offense, but having some fans wanting modern uniforms or changes doesn't really matter. Penn State needs to make a branding decision that leads to their long term success. The Boise State's, Maryland's, Oregon's, etc all do radical things with their jersey because they don't have an iconic brand. People kill for that. To throw it away would be very short sided and extremely costly.
  13. I don't understand when people clamor for Traditional brands to conform. The very fact that they never conformed IS their brand. If they change ANYTHING significant and go against their brand, they will cease to matter. I would argue that without those uniforms or coach, they would have ceased being nationally relevant a long time ago. If the next coach decides to make changes to put his stamp on the program, I would understand, but unless it keeps within the simple and traditional nature of the brand, it will be a failure. People are either Penn State fans because they are from the area/attended there OR most importantly revenue wise, they chose it because things like their classic uniforms and old school tradition (present events excluded of course).
  14. The Packers G is absolutely perfect. Is it simple? Yes, but that is what makes it so great. It is timeless, works in every possible setting, AND most importantly the most important thing is does is take a back seat to the yellow on the helmet which is probably it's most amazing achievement. Anyone who looks at a logo and confuses simple with easy has probably never designed a great logo them self. Perfect. PS. I love the Georgia helmet, but everyone outside of GA think they just stole the Packers logo. PPS. No one counts Grambling
  15. This is a rumor board, isn't that why we are all here?
  16. My old stomping grounds! Get a slice at Jasper's Pizza for me
  17. What's sad is I always thought what made Penn State special was because they used the white on the jersey so well. I thought the huge white collar was a clever and well thought out way of not just being plain, but being retrained, but now I know it was just a mistake, which is disappointing to hear. Here is a video that shows how they came to the decision, sad that so little goes into these huge design choices:
  18. You're nuts, this is the best thing Florida has ever worn!
  19. Here is the Uniforms from my alma mater. I was bummed when they took the logo I did off the helmet, but the current uniforms are really slick looking up close, so I ended up really digging them.
  20. My first ever jersey was a Brian Bosworth Seahawks home Jersey. I still have it.
  21. I still think this Islander logo was a great logo. I know the Fishsticks thing, but a few tweeks would have made this an outstanding logo
  22. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I LOVE this jersey, & I also love the black one. The Kings now have one of my favorite sets in all of sports, much less the NHL. I've always loved seeing the Kings in black & silver (mainly because that's what I grew up with.). Speaking of minority opinions...I actually like the red Panthers jersey, mainly because they dropped the piping. That was a good idea: Switch to the superior color, then take off the piping. It's not the best jersey in the world, but it's certainly an okay one. Not gonna make the Panthers any more relevant, but eh. And finally...thank God the Oilers finally decided on one identity, and they went back to the old ones which translated very well to the edge cut. I absolutely Agree. These are now one of my top jerseys in sports. It's perfect.
