  1. When was this? Yeah, what the hell is that? Does Shaq just show up for random photo shots to see how he?d look in everyone?s uniforms? That was in mid-2008 based from my research in Google. By the way, that really looks terrible. Remember that one time Hakeem Olajuwon tried on a Raptors jersey? At least Hakeem didn?t have man-boobs!

  3. I think the color is actually a charcoal gray, but it still looks good irregardless. Ive been hoarding construction photos of the place, I got to say, inside its a helluva building. Im not a fan of the exterior, but given the option of moving to Kansas City, I can live with it. Cool! You outta post 'em!
  4. That Consol Energy Center look pretty awesome!
  5. Magic looks fine in green with #33. While Larry looks horrible in yellow!!!
  6. I'm sorry if that's how you took my original comment about the MWC, that's not exactly what I mean. Oh I totally agree. It'll be interesting to see how they rise to the call, but only time will tell. And thanks by the way, I know all my Utah friends are going fanatical about this too!
  7. Other than an automatic bid, NOTHING! Ask any university, they'd rather have an automatic bid versus being over looked anyday!
  8. Oh come on, don?t move this thread, this is a huge deal where justice is finally being served!
  9. Finally, the day has come where my Utes are moving to a conference of legitimacy, a conference where they finally have a shot of competing for the National Title! This is the biggest day in history for the University of Utah Football program! Hallelujah!!! Pac-10 invites Utah as 12th member
  10. What ever happened to Manute Bol since his little hockey stint?
  11. Wow, that's crazy. The floor would have to be some type of transparent glass though! It would be nice if the picture enlarged but, based on what I see, that isn't hanging over the ice. You?re right, it does look like it?s hanging over the crowd versus the ice, but now that I mentioned the idea, wouldn?t it be cool to have a bridge that?s right over the ice/playing floor? They could feature some type of glass floor like what the CN Tower in Toronto has.

  13. It's actually a little depressing to go in there and realize that through the early '80s the Bucks were a dominate team in the NBA, but could never get over that hump to get back to the championship and now are cellar dwellers. They won the Midwest Division title every year between 1980-86 and made it to the Conference finals 3 times in that frame. Between the time that the Bucks were born ('68-'69) and Kohl bought the team ('85-'86) the Bucks missed the playoffs only 4 times, won 2 Conference and 1 NBA title. Since Sen. Kohl bought the team they have missed the playoffs 12 times. It's still shocking to me that the franchise as a whole is still 100 games over .500, despite their awfulness of late. Back on topic, I really like how the Bucks and Marquette handled their retired numbers. The Bucks with an image of the uniform worn, and Marquette with a picture, coloring and lettering of the uniform worn. Precisely my point, the Bucks franchise has slipped into the deep sea, and when a team like who?s won a championship, and doesn't come up for air every 5-10 years, that championship memory seems to dwindle away! It's sad, but it's reality.
  14. Yes again, everyone knows the pairing of the Big O and Lew Alcindor was a big deal but despite what you think, it?s never brought up, it?s lost in the pages of time. So again, it?s cool to see a banner with nice big bold lettering, reminding everyone that comes to town, IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, and the Bucks were legit at one time!
  15. Yes, everyone including myself knows this, but who in their right mind thinks of the Bucks as one of those lucky team to grab a title? $100 you?ll say you do just to despite me.
  16. I don?t know why but I think it?s so cool that the Bucks have a Championship banner hanging in the Bradley Center!
  17. I think the team just does it if they feel like it? I know the Red Wings do the same, but the Sabres do not do this (They were the "Eastern Conference Regular Season Champions" in 2007, but there is no such banner mentioning it) What about the other 28 teams...anybody got info on what they do? stars have "wester conference regular season champions" banners too... i'm not a fan, but it really really makes us look even more successful than the 3-4 mavs banners, as if we didn't already. I guess that?s what it?s all about, trying to amplify just how much success you?ve actually had!
  18. That?s right, there?s better place to watch an NBA game!
  19. I worked at MSG for 4 years... The Theater is within the arena. The basketball court/ hockey ice is on the fifth floor, and then the seats expand up from that all the way to the top floor which is the sky boxes. The Theater is beneath all that, I believe the stage level is on the first floor and the top row of seats is on the 2nd floor. When you say "floor", you mean seating tier, right? Not like the arena is on it's own floor, like it's an office building and it has stuff above and below it, right? So from what it sounds like, the theater seems to be nestled in behind the first and second levels of seats, where you would normally expect something like a locker room to be? Something like * * * * * <------200 level seats * * <----- 100 level seats theater * theater * theater * court / ice theater *********************************** No, he means like an office building. The floor/ice is not at ground level. MSG is 10 stories tall, the floor is on the 5th floor and the seating is on floors 5-10. I've never been to the theatre portion but from the way he describes it I think the theater is below the arena. Now that I re-read his post, it makes more sense now. Still, it certainly didn't look like a 10-story building. I was staring at it as we walked up to it, and it didn't appear to be much taller than the Wachovia Center or any other arena. Of course, it may have been an illusion, since there's a big tower right next to it. To get to the theater, we had to go up at least one escalator. Can't remember if more than one. We then walked through the lobby where the bars are to get to the seating, and walked down to our seats. It would make sense that we entered on the second floor, and walked down near the first where the stage is. It seemed so small though... like it couldn't have taken up the entire floor (unless there's a huge area behind the stage.) MSG has diagrams on its website. As you can see here it takes up about a quarter to a half of what would be the arena floor. http://www.thegarden...verview-map.pdf Here is the general overview of MSG diagram. As you can see the Theater is floors 2-3, and the arena is floors 5+. I think floor 1 is the lobby. I don't rally know the only part of MSG I've been in was Penn Station. http://www.thegarden...verview-map.pdf Has for its height it is probably a little of both. The bigger buildings around probably do create an optical illusion but Wachovia Center might not be that far behind in size. Remember MSG was built in the late 60's about the same time as the Spectrum in Philly. Layouts were different where it goes out more instead of stacked like arenas today. Thus the arena portion isn't as tall. As a comparison look at the height of the Spectrum compared to the Wachovia Center. Cool, thanks for the info! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1135433/index.htm This old Sports Illustrated articles was written when they first built the Garden IV... if you click "view this issue" under the title and go to page 39, there is an interesting diagram. What was originally intended to be a bowling ally is now the club restaurants and also the becomes the theater "studio" area where they do post-draft press conferences interviews. That's a horrible diagram that's hard to make out.
  20. I agree, I had no idea they would put something like that in place just for one game!
  21. On the bright side, it wound up being a 1-for-1 swap! Hillary in any kind of baseball cap just looks awkward!
  22. Completely. I had no idea. I guess it was overshadowed by the Halladay / Lee deals. I'm with ya, I had no idea as well.
  23. Is it just me or do the World Series Championship rings seem many grades lower than other sports like the NBA, NHL, and NFL?
