  1. Not that it makes the least bit of difference, but that pic is from 2001 or 2002. Note the updated font, and the Reebok logos on the Proehl's sleeve and Faulk's leg. The authentic jersey from those years looked amazing in person. TV never did them justice. BTW, loving those 49ers uni's in the background too. The T.O. era for the Niners had great uniforms.
  2. I miss those gold side panels too.
  3. Yup. I'm an "old school fool", but only when the old school look is better than the current look. And in the case of the Rams, the current look is much better than the old school look. The throwbacks are fine for once in a while but in my opinion, the Rams current look is better in every aspect; including the colors. I don't think the Rams need to change anything but if they do, they need to go back to these beauties... (Yes, I will use any excuse to post a picture of that uniform. ) As much as I love their current set, I would be perfectly ok with this one. That blue/white look is timeless that whole look has a classic old school style football feel to it. Even Andy Reid wore it as a teenager I'm sold!!!

  5. You do realize that the royal blue/athletic gold color scheme was designed in Cleveland, right? Colors, I suppose. And that was waaaay back in the day. Plus, it was more of a function thing. Those colors were that way so the QB could easily locate is WRs. I'd say the game is played much differently now. Agree to disagree. I love the current Rams uniforms.
  6. No. Always dangerous to try to read people's minds. I have that power. The cheesy colors and design worked perfect for the era they existed, but in 2011 and beyond, it just doesn't fit. It's an absolutely perfect 3rd uniform option. The same applies to the Bucs and Patriots throwbacks as well. None of the 3 should ever come back as that team's primary uniforms.
  7. Watching the Chiefs perfect uniforms tonight against the Chargers is really REALLY making me miss the old 85-95 Browns uni's. Gotta love MNF games when it's one of the greatest uni's of all-time against one of the worst. The Chargers current set is flat out hideous.
  8. Nah... it'll still be drab and bland. Huh? How is this "drab and bland". Colors look rich and upper class IMO. Take that same photo with the throwback right next to it? Drab and bland. But the throwback is a perfect retro look that belongs in the past or as a 3rd uni. The richer deeper colors are more midwest/blue collar than the Hollywood bright colors. Regardless if they won their SuperBowl in StL with the retro look, it just doesn't fit St Louis. Deeper I'll give you, but richer? Eh. And I'm from the mid-west... that means I gotta wear drab dark colors? Not buying. You don't "gotta wear", but the Hollywood bright colors don't work, again IMO. Plus, people ONLY love that uniform because it is retro/iconic. The LA/StL Rams couldn't sell those jerseys when they were their primary uni's to save their life. The current set is seen all over the that area.
  9. Can't wait to see the sales during the 2013 season. Nov 2011 thru 2012's sales will be mostly just hype of a new product.

  11. I think there was a quote earlier saying that the neutral black "canvas" really makes the rainbow colors pop, and I agree. But as was also mentioned, this will not be the only cap they will use. I personally am hoping for an all-orange cap, or at the very least a black one with an orange bill. I don't think the blue would be a good idea for one of the main cap colors because it seems to me that it will be just like the Rays' yellow--nothing more than a trim color. I mocked this up awhile ago... That looks terrible. Well, it would make a great corporate softball team cap though.

  13. I'm also in the minority when it comes to the Rams current uniforms. I think their millennium blue, century gold and their current uniform design is perfect. As for their throwback uniform, it reminds me of the old basketball ABA uniforms. I'm one of the biggest fans of the ABA uniforms, but I would never want a team wearing them in this era. Same applies to the LA Rams look. I think keeping that uniform as a 3rd alternate is the way it should stay.
