  1. And we now have Ron Artest wearing 37..."Bad Guy" coinkidink? Though I think he gave some reason for it. Oh well, his being a Laker gives me another reason to not like the guy. As I remember it, Artest's 37 has something to do with Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album. He had discussed that on The Dan Patrick show.
  2. Puck could tie it up by pointing out how much of that homegrown talent would be lost by teams in other markets. Why would I want to tie it up? I made a commentary about the Yankees we all now to be true ( ) and someone came armed with facts. If anything, I say kudos to them. And it also wasn't a big commentary on free agency either, so there's no need to go there as well.
  3. Wouldn't it be easier or quicker if you just posted a NY Yankees team photo and put arrows on everyone that was "home grown?"
  4. Not that there's a still image, but here's a video of Frank Caliendo taking batting practice with the Diamondbacks. http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/entertainment/yetta/frank_caliendo_batting_09_21_2009
  5. At this point in time, maybe we should just say the only "right" uniform is Georgetown? Can I get a second?
  6. All these years later, is TATC such a big secret? Apparently to those who can't use the search feature...or Google. You're a cool guy. I really mean that. It was just brought up during the telecast yesterday, so I posted a pic. No need to get all high and mighty on a damn internet message board. Even though responding to this is a deviation from the topic, there's no high and mighty here. There's a search feature, you could have used it. Also, a judgment call as well since most people would recognize Larry Walker as a Rockies star.

  8. Those arms In David's defense, he really only has to carry or throw around the following: man purse, soccer ball, kids and Victoria Beckham. With the weight of these things in decending order.
  9. Can someone post basically every Edmonton Oilers' championship picture then?
  10. Nothing 'wrong' with those photos. Some coaches still believe that you need to work your way up in order to select a jersey number, otherwise you are just assigned one out of training camp. Pssst. This is our crossover/spinoff: Legends in the Wrong Numbers thread.
  11. +1. I know the title says "legends", but it's amusing to see others in the "wrong" uniforms. Chuck Knoblauch is not a legend, but he still looks weird in a Royals uniform. And just because he may still be active (perhaps) does not mean Favre's Falcons uniform does not serve the same purpose as Namath's Rams uniform. People would know Knoblauch...the Madsen post though, really?
  12. Wrong position too. I will give you that, but with the understanding he probably had as much of an impact with the 'Backs as he did with the Cubs, unlike the majority if not ALL the other entrants in this thread. I disagree. He was at the tail end of his career when he left Chicago, and if Arizona doesn't win it all in 2001, Gracey is only remembered as a Cub. Well your statement hinges on the word, "if," doesn't it? They DID and it's cemented as such.

  14. Wait, he actually played? I thought he had a minor-league contract for a few days or something. .202 with 3 HR, 51 RBI, 30 SB, and 11 errors Well, he did actually play the game unlike the few other celebrities who showed up for a day of Spring Training that are in this thread. I'm also going to add: Michael Jordon playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Fall League.
  15. I'm going to have to call shenanigans on this one.
  16. He fit in so well and quickly as a Celtics, it seems like he was destined to be in green. KG in a Timberwolves uniform looks like a legend in the wrong uniform to me now. Its odd isn't it, because I would sort of agree with you. But I think its interesting that Garnett seems like a man living out his destiny with a ring in Boston, whereas say Ray Bourque has to go to Colorado to win the Stanley Cup, but he will be forever a Bruin to a lot of people, I think. I've actually always been curious about this. Does anyone in Boston hate Ray for leaving for a chance at the Cup? The guy bled black and gold, stayed when others left. Carried the team when it needed it. So, who hates the guy for wanting to get his and call it a career? And let's be honest, it ended his career when he got what he wanted. He didn't stick around and continue to stick it in the back for Bruins fans.
  17. I think we need to redefine what "legend" means once again. And damn that Time Wakefield and his knuckleball!
  18. Tavares will leave his mark on Long Island, you'll see. Just as long as it's not the same way Eric Lindros left his on Quebec.
  19. Doesn't count until you find Wild Thing in another uniform. I'm still amazed by the ways I can be corrected on this forum. Thank you for that!

  21. I'm probably wrong, but isn't that his stint with Cleveland? Well that is what I get for trusting captions on pictures. Havent' we all done that once or twice?
