  1. To me this is one of those "So bad it's good" uniforms. I know there's too much red, but I still like it.

EDIT: Looking back, I realized I have a ton of unpopular opinions.

I feel like they've gotten obliterated on national television every time they've worn these. They just remind me of the darkest parts of the Jim Zorn era (as opposed to the oh-so-magical times we're experiencing now). Hopefully this combo never sees the light of day again.

    Yeah, the Steelers obliterated them.

When they wore them against Dallas in 2009, the Cowboys beat the Skins 7-6 on a last-minute TD pass...Skins were shutting Dallas out 6-0 for the whole game and lost at the end. Was a crazy game actually.

    Story behind the uniforms:

  2. I hate when guys like Iginla and Jagr become rent-a-players at the end of their careers. Sort of tarnishes they're main career team "feel" when they wear 17 other sweaters in the league.

I don't mind all of them. Jagr remains more productive than most because of his size, patience, stickhandling, & able to create space without speed.

Guys like Iginla & Recchi, those are players I get tired of... chasing rings instead of playing for fun.

Does anyone really play just for fun or the love of the game? Most if not all play for rings and make the most money they can make for themselves.
The thing I love about Chip Kelly is that he got rid of players that did it for the money, and acquired players that love football

Don't be naive...they're all playing for the money. The only one that really, actually might be doing it for the "love of the game" could be Tim Tebow.

  3. With the news of Glendale possibly ending the lease with the Coyotes and the arena, and the Coyotes set to show off new uni's at the draft, could we possibly see an instance similar to when the Nordiques updated their look, only to move to Colorado?

What's wrong with the Coyotes' uniforms?

  4. Did somebody already say this?

I know Vince Lombardi isn't a player really but even as a part time (as in when the season starts) Redskins fan this just seems wrong.

If he had not died of cancer after coaching one year...and had gone on to win several Super Bowls with the Redskins, we may view it differently. Lombardi had full control of the team and stock in the team.

George Allen took over the team and went to the Super Bowl the year after, so it's quite possible that he would have built a legacy in D.C. also.

I'm starting to think the Redskins are cursed...

    Definitely cursed

Unlike all the other Redskins problems I can't pin this on Dan Snyder. I don't think he was even alive when Lombardi died. And yes it has been 24 years since the Redskins last won a super bowl.

As bad as it's been, the Redskins STILL have as many playoff wins in the last 18 years than "America's Team" the Cowboys! (2 since 1997) Up until last season, the Redskins had the upper hand.

  6. Michael Sam...any NFL uniform is the wrong one.

CFL is better suited for his abilities.

Really? Hopefully your statement isn't connected with his sexuality.

Really? All this guy did was make a true statement: Michael Sam did not succeed in the NFL.

You might be reading a little too much into it.

You are correct. After he flames out in the CFL, it will prove my opinion that any pro or semi-pro football uniform is the wrong one.

No 7th-round draft pick should ever get as much attention as him...unless it's because he turned into a draft steal and superstar. Same with backup QBs and little league baseball pitchers. It's all drama all the time over there.

  7. Wait, do we have a link about Dan Uggla getting a custom-made children's size authentic jersey? I know he's always worn his jerseys tight, but that seems beyond belief. I mean, he's 5'10" and 210, which is pretty built. I can't imagine he'd fit into a boys' size without the buttons popping open.

Yeah, they're tight but no way those arms are fitting into a youth jersey. I am a few inches and several pounds lighter than Uggla and a youth XL barely fits me and it's snug on me.
