  1. With Cleveland bringing back an old logo to put at midfield, I really wish the Bengals got rid of the Tiger B altogether during their uniform redesign, and brought back an actual Tiger logo to be everywhere. The 97-03 set of logos were great and would still be around if the team wasn't complete ass at that time.

  2. My interest in each sport somewhat waffles over time. As of right now, I can't watch any Cincinnati Reds games, and while I can listen to them on the radio I haven't found the need to do so this year. I had sworn off the NFL but Joe Burrow is just cool as hell and he somewhat reeled me back in. My interest in NASCAR/F1/Indycar is as high as it's ever been. Similar to what someone else said, Cincinnati's arrival to the soccer scene forced that into my overall interest. Having my childhood hockey team be good again sucked me right back into watching hockey every night.

I'll also echo what someone else said about the NBA. My team, Memphis, is finally really good, but the game's just seem so tedious. I'd be much more inclined to maintain interest if these was literally an old-time ESPN sportscenter, that just showed the NBA highlights form the previous day. Not a 12-minute condensed game on YouTube, not just one dunk on Twitter I scroll past, just a full-on show dedicated to just that. I'd watch that all day. I did it as a kid and I'd do it again.

COVID cancellations kind of threw my whole sports world for a loop and forced me to re-evaluate. I feel like I'm "full" at the moment and don't need anything else in there. I could get into lacrosse, UFC, or cricket but I just don't feel the need. I like watching the Premier League, but I feel like it'd take a back seat if it was on at any other time of day, or it would at least compete with the NFL/NBA/NASCAR for my attention when it's on.

I'll watch the majors for golf, and keep an eye on other tournaments as it's the sports league my dad plays the closest attention to, and now my mom will watch it with him on Sundays which I just think is absolutely adorable.

With horse racing I'll watch the Triple Crown because those are such an event and the overall history of the whole thing.

As much as I love to play, my interest/knowledge of what's happening in tennis has waned to the point that I'll maybe catch the Wimbledon final, but I'll likely be tuning into all of Serena's upcoming matches.

College basketball is probably the sport I've attended the most, and it's my favorite overall, but it's on the verge of just being completely ruined at any moment which is such a shame.

  3. Am I the only person who doesn't know what the Crawsover is? When did all these NBA players start playing in a bunch of Pro-Am tournaments? Shouldn't unnecessary non-team basketball be outlawed in their contracts?

I know the internet is full of a bunch of people who have no idea who they are, so they just start calling things "mid" out of nowhere, but this reminds me so many internet basketball people started talking about whatever the Drew League is despite not knowing what the hell it was the day before.

I mean, if I was King of Soccer this ref would be looking for a new job today. After the game Pat Noonan said something to one of them about blowing a call and the assistant referee's response was something like "you blew it when you blew a 3-0 lead", which is just not acceptable behavior from a sports official. The score or the game's events should never influence your decision making on a specific call nor should you voice an opinion on the coach's and/or team's performance.

Noonan rules. He pulled one of my favorite moves in a dispute like that with "you :censored:ing know", a variation of my "You know I'm right".

This is why I'd never make it as a ref (saying this as someone who 100% agrees all the points you made).

If I was refereeing basketball, every time a player complained to me about a call I'd be mentioning all the mistakes they made during the game as well. Which I would find hilarious but would obviously distract from the the game more than all the complaining already does.

  5. As someone who likes college basketball 100 times more than college football. I hate all of this. I never really thought I'd say this but I think I have less than ten years of giving a :censored: about either of these sports.

Obviously money is THE factor here, but how does this pay off if the best team from the Big Ten/SEC ends up at like 9-3?

  6. I wear my Avs shirt today and they score 5 goals in the first period.

Living in a city that didn't have an NHL team growing up (Columbus is a 2 hour drive away, but they didn't exist until I was 10), like most kids in the 90s I gravitated towards the team that was good (Cowboys/Yankees/Bulls fans) and I settled on Colorado (and a small thing for the Mighty Ducks largely because of the movies/Paul Kariya/Teemu).

I didn't quite understand it all at the time, but I cried when they won the Cup in 2001 when I saw Ray Bourque crying. It was one of three times in my life that sports made me cry. It was the first time someone I truly rooted for won anything (the only other times this happened since have mostly been non-team sports, or liking a singular athlete on a team, so it's it doesn't quite feel the same).

I've been waiting for 20 years for the Avalanche to make the trip back to the final, and this is the best I've felt about it since I was a kid.

Also, I think Colorado's uniforms make more overall sense now and have been cleaned up somewhat, but I really miss the black pants. I actually only wear my Avs shirt with black shorts. It just feels right.

Because Duke-UNC is insufferable enough as is. Having them face off in the tournament in Coach K's last season just so the media can fall all over themselves praising him is sickening.

Rutgers-Notre Dame was the great first four game ever.

Teddy Allen was fun in the first round.

    Gonzaga/Memphis was a good game.

    UNC-Baylor was wild.

Everything St. Peter's did  was great.

    Creighton/San Diego State was great.

    Miami/USC was good.

    lllinois/Chattanooga was fun.

These were just off the top of my head, there were more solid moments.

I don't think one matchup ruins it all. College basketball is my favorite thing. No other sport comes close for me. Duke is playing good basketball, and North Carolina is playing good basketball. The game should be good. Does it feature two teams who have won championships before? Yes. Are they playing some of the best basketball of any team at the moment? Also yes.

Duke/North Carolina is the biggest rivalry in college basketball. If there's a bigger one, let me know. I'm not sure why it's a crime for the media to talk about it. Rivalries are great for college basketball, especially as teams move conferences and rivalries die off.

actually, I changed my mind. this is a bottom-5 tourney anyway. I guess I'll pull for Villanova because of Big East sentiment? I don't know, this blows.

What's so bad about this tournament? I get that it's not an all-time great, but I'm not sure what's so bad about it.

  9. I'm hoping for a Duke-Villanova final. It's wild to me that those two schools have only played 10 times, and not since '09.

Childhood me would have never rooted for Duke (though I really like Luol Deng), but now that I'm an adult, I kinda hope Duke wins it all.

  10. So Joe Buck obviously had Sunday afternoon football, the occasional Thursday night game, then the playoffs, in addition to all his baseball work.

Do we see him doing anything else at ESPN? Sunday Night Baseball (eventually)? Any college stuff? Basketball?

  11. I haven't watched Monday Night Football in years, partly because I'm in bed before the game is over, but it also just doesn't feel like a big deal anymore. I think Buck and Aikman together can elevate the broadcast.

The issue is obviously the baseball part of it for Buck. He's a very good  baseball announcer, and I'm not sure who is next in line at Fox. Is it Joe Davis? Kevin Burkhardt? If it wasn't clear already that Thom Brenneman goofed it, it certainly is now. he could have been the next man up for both the Football & baseball spots. (Thom is obviously a dweeb, but I never got he hate for him as an announcer. The only thing I can find on him - and Buck or Romo or Collinsworth or anyone else - is that he says nice things about the other team sometimes which is treated like the biggest crime of all time.)

On the football side of things, if Buck leaves, I really hope Adam Amin gets a look. He's great.

It's weird that Fox just doesn't seem to have the stable of announcers that CBS & ESPN have. I really hope we find a way to get Kevin Harlan on a TV Super Bowl call before he retires.

  12. This is somewhat beyond NBA-only, but I'm very confused as to the events names for All Star Weekend.

Last night's events was just called "The Clorox Rising Stars". The dunk contest is just called "The AT&T Slam Dunk" (which it has been for a while, with different sponsors). Why is it not called the Slam Dunk Contest? It's still called the Three Point Shootout, I'm not sure why we're leaving off some of the nouns here.

Outside of basketball, NBC has the Toyota Halftime, instead of the halftime report. of halftime show. it just sounds weird as hell.

  13. As with most sane Bengals fans I know. I have no idea how I'm supposed to feel (already blared Bengals TD song "Bang on the Drum All Day" once, sorry neighbors). I'm still happy to be here, and would not be upset in any way if they lose in two weeks. I smiled for a bit, but still don't really feel a lot about it, which is kinda sad?

It's weird that a team in the city I've lived my entire life is playing for a championship, but just so happens to be the one I care the least about. In terms of teams I root for winning a championship, they'd be fifth on the list, so maybe I'll get to find out two weeks from now how much it would mean to me.

  14. It's weird that in the past four AFC Championship games, we had 9-7 Tennessee (two years ago) and 10-6 Jacksonville (four years ago) that seemingly had no business being there. The Titans lost by 11 and the Jaguars somehow only lost by 4.

This matchup reminds me of the ECF in the NBA this part year. The Hawks got hot in the playoffs, beating the number 1 seed in a seven-game series and then lost in 6 to the best player in the league.

I'm also just happy to be here, and I think they'll lose by like 20.

  15. They just announced on the 49ers/Packers game (on Fox) that Tony Stewart will be joining Bowyer & Mike Joy in the booth. I know Jeff Gordon took essentially the heir apparent role at HMS, but have we heard Stewart announce before?
