  1. I do not like the Diamondbacks original uniform. I think the design is terrible and the colors are '90s tacky. I thought everyone knew that, but the "what sports identities do you miss" thread now leads me to believe otherwise.
  2. I disagree. Over-sized logos as the centerpiece are never good. Never!
  3. Pics of Ortiz's WS ring and MVP ring. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/2014/04/04/red-sox-presented-with-world-series-rings/cIKkdW8EoSfWUG2INZn3sN/pictures.html?pg=6
  4. It may already have been posted, but all these hockey pics got me thinking....
  5. There are a lot or really lame accomplishments highlighted on this ring--division champs, ranked #14 in the BCS, beat Arizona two years in a row, 10 win season, and played in the Holiday Bowl. They just could have given each player a trophy that read "NCAA Football 2013 - Participant."
  6. You brought back a 2-year old thread so you could type "Vancouver Canucks"?
  7. The Phoenix Coyotes' original logo was terrible--a boxy dog wearing a "Phantom of the Opera" mask. I thought everyone knew that, but the comments in the NHL 2014 thread lead me to believe that people love it.
  8. The Boston Bruins used to clog the rafters of the old Boston Garden with Adams Division and Wales Conference Championship banners (they were envious of all the banners the Celtics had). Now, only the Stanley Cups get their own banner and everything else is consolidated. In 2011, they re-did the Stanley Cup banners with period correct logos.
  9. Not a straight one-for-one, but the 2006 Colts only had one Lombardi trophy on their Super Bowl ring, because it was their first in Indy.
  10. A number of people have mentioned IP in their argument, but aren't counterfit jerseys more about trademark protection than intellectual property? Nike paid for the manufacturing rights to NFL merchandise, most of which were not designed by anyone at Nike. Both are certainly illegal, but I am just trying to clarify terminology.
  11. Agreed. I also liked the Pat Patriot helmet with the white face mask instead of red.
  12. Actually, they don't NEED to do that at all. If you like the alternate jersey universe, that is okay, but let's not pretend they are an essential aesthetic aspect of the game. For my entire childhood, NFL teams had one jersey for home and one for the road and the league was still able to have successful seasons.
  13. Not only is that ring hideous, but it is unwieldly. I spoke to a Braves scout who said his friends in the Marlins scouting department do not wear their rings beasue they are so enourmous and heavy.
  14. Have they replaced the old white/blue/bronze 1999-00 and 2000-01 banners with red/white/blue or just added new red/white/blue banners for 2009-10?
  15. What are the Clippers sporting for banners these days?
  16. Besides being aesthetically unpleasing, it seems odd that you would not group banners based on their subject matter.
  17. I oppose adding a 12th school on the grounds it would ruin the NCAA's best conference logos.
  18. Are the blue and the orange banners in the back Division and Conference championships?
  19. The Liberty Bell on the tower (to the right of the brick wall in straightaway CF), is that the same one from the Vet?
  20. Why does Charles Barkley's retired number banner have the "new" logo on it? It looks ridiculously out of place.
