  1. Just for fun: if the dawg collar made its way to the full set including home and road unis. I don't hate it!
  2. Hard pass on the black mask and helmet stripe. As to the thick stripes, these really harken back to the 1980 team so it's just a case where they were true to the original. Also, I found a 40th anniversary logo for the 1980 team: Which is different than the one worn on the throwbacks. Much prefer this one:
  3. UGA to wear the throwbacks in the opener on the road against Arkansas on Sept 26. Black jerseys to debut in a yet to be announced game. https://www.ajc.com/sports/georgia-bulldogs/georgia-bulldogs-to-honor-80-team-by-wearing-red-britches-vs-arkansas/7A6GYOCNHNFIFICERRK4BUCROU/ The article also mentions that the original plan was for the team to surprise the fans by running out in the red britches for the Chick Fil A kickoff game against UVA before that was cancelled. Not sure how that would have worked because fans would have noticed the throwback jerseys. Unless they warmed up in the regular white jerseys and silver britches and then did a full swap all together.
  4. As a Dawg, this is like Christmas to me. Alternates hardly ever happen in Athens. Hoping this is a sign of things to come. I’d love to see red pants in the regular rotation on the road for once or twice a season. Same with the regular black jersey. Here are a few additional looks (if you swipe right, there are some not yet posted photos). Home run for me.
  5. I knew there was a situation like this before. Maybe they’ve changed the wording of the rule? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/ncaa-rule-forces-arizona-small-change-uniforms-2014-183638276--ncaaf.html
  6. Regarding the BC alternate, I thought the NCAA outlawed multi colored numbers (such as gradients, patterns, etc)?
  7. Is this a fashion jersey or to be worn on field? The product description goes on to say that it is to celebrate 100 years of playing as the Bulldogs, which is kinda cool, I guess. Now as to the actual design: -It’s black. The overall style is fairly similar to our usually black jerseys with the red collars and cuffs. However, it would be a shame to wear this instead of our regular black jerseys. This one leans on the corny side while our regular blacks are some of the best alternates in college ball and are criminally underused. -Classic block font for all the traditionalists. No contrasting red outline. -The dog collar is cheesy but I could maybe live with it if that was the only questionable design element. Makes me think of the old FSU design with the tribal pattern on the collar. If they left it at that, I think it would be a subtle and okay alternate for a one-off. That brings me to my next point. -Hate the bulldog logos on the sleeves. Georgia should never wear such things. -You’ll notice that the sleeve logos have “100” in the same spot that the “G” normally sits.
  8. A few more looks at the white numbers for FSU. An improvement for sure, but wish they switched to the cleaner Vapor Untouchable template. Would have also liked a slightly more subtle look to the pattern.
  9. I prefer the double stripe over the plain white pants. But I also really liked the previous single stripe with the checkers. It was a subtle and clever way to integrate another part of their identity into the uniforms. It did not drastically change their design and was still a traditional look. I also liked how it matched the helmet. From the front, it was the same Tennessee we all knew but had a little extra flair on the back of the helmet.
  10. FSU finally showed off the updated jerseys with white numbers rather than gold. Much better, but highly disappointed that they did not use this opportunity to update to the much cleaner Vapor Untouchable template or clean up their overly designed look. They could definitely do with a streamlining.
  11. Yeah I definitely had a brain fart there. Obviously have football on the brain and Duke never really registers as a football program. Lol. Nonetheless, I don’t think Jordan would go after SC.
  12. I don’t see it for a few reasons. Jordan wouldn’t position themselves against the primary rival of Michael Jordan’s own school. South Carolina is already one of UA’s more prominent schools and if they can hang on to them, they should. Also, Jordan tends to go after some of the biggest and most successful teams (UNC, Michigan, Florida, Oklahoma) and I just don’t see SC in that category- they’re definitely more middle of the pack. ——— Edit- pardon my total whiff on NC and SC being main rivals. D’oh!
  13. This isn’t news for 2020, but I just noticed details on a uniform from a decade ago that I had never seen before and thought I should share. Did anyone know that they featured a rubberized stripe pattern on the shoulder? How did this escape me for this long?
  14. Not to mention that teams are allowed 85 scholarships plus however many walk-ons, so it is very realistic to have over 100 players and not have enough numbers for everyone. This is not even getting into the fact that each position may wear certain numbers, dictating number availability. It wouldn’t be possible without duplicates.
  15. ^ I’d expect FSU will update templates so we may see some tweaks to the design. At the very least, the collar will change.
  16. The first one makes me think of those classic Chargers uniforms from decades ago. So much right with that one. The second option with the navy blue gives me a similar impression as the Dolphins uniforms from 2013-2017 (the ones with the dark blue). Sure it looks pretty similar to what a Chargers uniform should be, but the dark blue just adds so much unneeded clutter and strips it of its natural beauty. Look at how much better the Dolphins are now that they’ve reverted back to only aqua and orange. Sometimes simpler is better and I think this is one of those times.
  17. As a Braves fan and local Atlantan (Gwinnett is very close to ATL), I was looking forward to this update. I think what they mailed in is half cooked. There are some decent parts, as well as some not so good components. I was hoping for the name “Gwinnett Buttons.” Had a cool minor league feel to it but is historical to the region. The county is named after Button Gwinnett- one of the founding fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence and was also head of state for Georgia for a spell. The name feels kinda hokey. Even though we do have good fishing here (though not really my thing) and apparently striped bass. “Stripers” just feels forced. So forced that my phone just tried to default to “strippers.” The wordmark and fish logo look good. The color balance is nice. Looking at that, I would infer that the club would maintain its heavy dosage of navy and red, but now with added touches of light green. However, looking at the uniforms, the red is nearly void completely. I’d say the green is way too prominent. A tiny bit of green (cap logo, small trim piece here or there) with the red and blue would have done wonders while also retaining a clearer tie-in to the parent club. Right now, there’s just an odd disconnect from the color balance of the wordmark to that of the uniforms. Pinstripes are great. Headspoons are great. The two together are awful. I shake my head any time I see a club combine the two. Also, the alternate is way too loud to use that color. Again, perhaps navy blue with touches of green would have helped. That green is bright so a little goes a long way. Too many alternate logos. Waters down the brand a bit. I’d probably stick with the main fish and the red G with the fish and call it a day. Everything else is overkill. I grade it out about a 5 or 6 out of 10. Lot of potential. Lot of weird decisions. Won’t get over the name or the overkill of lime green and complete abscence of red.
  18. Assumed it was likely the limitations of the consoles at the time but it really bugged me how EA treated the Falcons under arm trim like a side stripe rather than a tapering stripe.
  19. I have no inside knowledge, but my suspicion is that time is the determining factor. Sure, they could easily pre-fabricate the NFL and Super Bowl logos, but they only have 2 weeks advance notice to allow them to produce the endzones and sideline designs. That's probably too short of a turn around for the turf company to manufacture.
  20. Here are some better pictures. For an artificial field, I think it's pretty darn good. The Super Bowl logos don't look as washed out as they have recently on turf.
  21. I hear you! Was really hoping Falcons would get red. SBXXXIII was so nice for us.
  22. Anyone know why I cannot mark my notifications as read? My alerts are mostly just posts which others have liked and I cannot clear them. The message I get is: "Oops! Something went wrong!Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available."
  23. I don't usually engage in this thread, but this was too good to pass up on: A fake Bills Nike jersey with sleeve logos instead of stripes, no front number. Instead a a portrait of the player in the outdated uni, with Photoshops to make the jersey a "Nike" one (which Nike never produced for the Bills).
  24. If Mizzou goes SEC as #14, there's always going to be the question of "stay or go" to 16. The SEC has made it clear they don't want to expand into markets that already have teams. What about the joint inclusion of VaTech and UVA as #15 and #16? Keeping important rivalries in tact while also going after a power house that the SEC would love (VaTech).
