  1. So what you are saying is... assuming Colorado bolts for the PAC-10 (11), the 2 most likely contenders for the Big XII to reestablish at 12 teams would be Colorado State and Utah State. Anyone else have thoughts on this scenario?
  2. Rewinding a bit when the whole Conference Realignment started, let me lay out a scenario: Nebraska joins the Big Ten, bringing the Big Ten to 12 teams and the Big XII to 11 teams. The PAC-10 extends invites to Colorado and Utah.Utah accepts, bringing the PAC-10 to 11 teams.Colorado remains loyal to the Big XII, remaining at 11 teams. The Big XII does NOT invite West Virginia, in favor of regional expansion/loyalty.What would be the most likely scenario concerning Utah State, Colorado State, and Brigham Young? Would Utah push the PAC-10 (11) to add Utah State?Would Colorado push the Big XII (11) to add Colorado State?Would the PAC-10 be more interested in adding a "national" brand like Brigham Young?Would Brigham Young entertain the PAC-10 if the Big XII doesn't come calling?Would the Big XII prefer to expand into a different state/territory and add Utah State or Brigham Young?Would the PAC-10 prefer to expand into different state/terriroty and add Colorado State? Are there 2 other Universities that would be more likely to bring the PAC-10 (11) to 12 teams and the Big XII (11) back to 12 teams?
  3. Looking for the Ohio State Buckeyes Pro Combat/Rivalry uniform numbers/font:
  4. Ya know... In modern America, I feel like we hear/read something every day that is dumber than the previous day.
  5. This... is not an attempt. ...its a slaying (slay means good). Nice job.
  6. Personally, I thought this was the third best option behind keeping the Aeros... or changing it to Gum Dippers.
  7. I was wondering if someone could help me out with a conversion. Illustrator has the option to convert files with the layers to photoshop. The process is as follows: Open the file in Illustrator, File > Export and change the file extension to .PSD. Here is a link for reference: http://vectips.com/tips/export-illustrator-files-to-photoshop/ Here is the link to the template: http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/94882-nike-hypercool-football-template-release/#entry2078487 mattwillcox has already given me permission to get it converted. The version of photoshop I am using it CS3.
  8. Hey, we'll finally get to play Iowa in my grad year here. Two teams in the same conference shouldn't go four years in a row without playing each other. Kinda nice that we'll be in the "easy" division too. But this really screws over IU. Indiana would have been hosed regardless. Don't tell me that they would expect to win a West division against Wisconsin, Northwestern and Nebraska. They would have had a better shot in the West than in the East with Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and even Rutgers (seeing that Rutgers had the 3rd best recruiting class this year in the B1G TEN).
  9. It's not a Conference if a member team only comes to town once a decade. Twice per decade.
  10. Personally, I think 20 works out better than 16. I don't think for one second that the B1G TEN doesn't have at least the outline for a 20 team conference in mind. Just think, 4 divisions of 5 schools. You play every team in your division every year and 1 team from each of the other divisions on a rotatings basis. You have your 8 league games and will still be able to schedule to warm up games and 2 out of conference games.
  11. The AAC... it doesn't roll off the tongue like the ACC does. I can't believe they would go with an accronym that is so close to another conference's. I guess it could just reinforce that they are going to try and push farther west and pick up more little brother schools in major markets across the country. The AAC is nothing but a renamed Mid Major.
  12. No one thinks the B16 TEN is done expanding. Nothing insightful or profound with that statement.
  13. AAU Membership is big (sorry) for the B16 TEN, but the main academic factor is research dollars. AAU Membership is just a bonus, as long as the large amount of research funding is there. It doesn't matter if AAU member schools are within the B16 TEN foot print, i.e. Iowa State, Pitt. The B16 TEN isn't adding a school within its footprint unless its ND... and I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed. The B16 TEN won't add Duke if they already have North Carolina, they won't take Kansas State if they already have Kansas, and they won't take Pitt since they already have Penn State. Being outside of the current foot print is 1A and 1B most important factors along with large amounts of research dollars from the State and Federal Governments.
  14. It's the same source. Yeah, not my finest post. It was late and I was adding that from a tablet, so I missed some of the earlier conversation. Back to a 20 team Big Ten. If UVA and UNC are #15-16, who are the other four? All ACC members, or does the league consider making offers to schools like Kansas and Missouri? Interestingly enough, a 20 team format allows for two divisions of 10 (or 4x5), but it cleverly allows the league to market themselves as "The Big Ten(s)" Considering North Carolina and Virginia as 15 and 16... Gerogia Tech will definitely be in play with Kansas or Kansas State being 17 and 18. I would lean towards Kansas State because they are receiving heavy research dollars and their basketball and football teams are more competitive than Kansas', however Kansas does have a larger national following in football. Not to mention, the recent surge of the B16 TEN in basketball. As for 19 and 20, I think there is some room for dispute. I think they ultimately would like to add Missouri (as I believe Missouri was in the long term plans before they jumped to the SEC). I would have to believe Clemson and Florida State would also be in play and strongly pushed for.
  15. So if let's say all 3 do in fact have offers and accept them and whatnot.. do we throw out the 16 team stuff out the window and steamroll ahead to the super-dee-dooper 18 to 20 endgame? Its full steam ahead to 20. Just like 14 is an awkward, clunky number, 18 is just as awkward and clunky.
  16. Speaking to the 20 team B16 TEN, it lends itself nearly perfectly to scheduling, doesn't it? The B16 TEN has already said they are advocating a larger conference schedule, up to 10 games within the conference to promote a tighter, closer B16 TEN. If that's the case, and assuming 4 Division of 5 Teams, each team would play the other 4 teams in their divisions (4 games), then play 2 teams on a rotating basis from each of the other divisions (2 x 3 = 6 games), for a total of 10 conference game per year. As far as how the Division rotation goes, there would have to be some sort of leap frog format. For example: Ohio State would play every team in its own division, but then when it plays division B, is would play Team 1 and 2 the first year, then team 2 and 3 the second year, team 3 and 4 the third year, team 4 and 5 the fourth year, and team 5 and 1 the fifth year. Playing the same schools in back to back seasons will allow the Home and Home format, as well as providing more competitive balance. If one team is young and filled with sophomores and juniors, the next year they may be exponentially better as juniors and seniors, so playing in back to back years would give a better gauge of the talent of the team.
  17. Thats what I did Friday. The only way to vanqish the troll is to rid of it's power. Quit feeding him attention and he will eventually go away. We try. It's easier said than done.
  18. Well basically. People come here, post ideas, some good some bad. Then Max comes in, butchers everything, has convoluted, contrived, ignorant reasons behind his ideas. With minor effort and a small amount of critical thinking, everone sees that Max's ideas are comepletely fu<ked up, which people call him out on. Max then makes claims of his profound logic and miss uses terms, like prime factorization, to prove how idiotic he is. After that, we all tend to just stare blankly at the screen, dumbfounded. This continues right up until some one realizes their brain is essentially eating itself, trying to figure out what the fu<k kind of medication Max is on, because it's obviously the greatest fu<king narcotic known to man. And right as our brains are about to feast on its own cortex, something in the back of our minds scream "THIS IS FU<KED!!!!!!!!!" then we all collectively piss ourselves and pass out. Once we come back around, it's like waking up from one of those dreams where you cant figure out if it was real or not. Unfortunatly for us, we wake up, and Max's ideas are staring back at us. Thats when all the screaming and "WTF are you talking about ?" comes out. This lasts for a few days until Max stops posting and we can actually have informed discussions. That lasts maybe a week, until Max takes another on all our faces. Sorry for all the cursing.
  19. Why'd you change that from "Eat it"? I know I was annoying when I first got here... but this kid takes it to a whole new level. Its a good slam though... quoting a line out of my profile that I made 2 or 3 years ago. He got me right where it hurts.
  20. Thanks for these 3 nuggets of random, nonsensical crap. Please, just ignore him. Fight the urge of pointing out his moronic statements and just ignore him. My hopes are if ALL of us continue this thread by ourselves, communicating only to each other and ignore him, eventually he will stop posting. Even if he does keep posting, we should strive to only comment on each others' posts/ideas.
  21. I think I agree. A lot of people bring it up but I also don't see them leaving the SEC so soon. I agree that Mizzou won't make another move as fast as they did last time around. But they have been on record multiple times saying that they feel they are a better fit wit the B16 TEN, not just geographically, but athletically (both football and basketball competitiveness), but acedemically. In the end, it will still come down to the dollars. But the figures the B16 TEN is projecting by just adding Maryland and Rutgers is unfathomable. If they can couple those projections with adding the North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Kansas etc. markets, Mizzou would have to look at. Before the NWO, jumping conferences was a major, major move. It tooks incredible thought and consideration. In the NWO, jumping conferences isn't nearly as taboo as it was previously.
  22. The most telling piece is "Four Super Conferences of 16-20 schools." He said Midwest and southeast. The first school that come to my mind form the West are Kansas and/or Kansas State and Missouri (who may leave the SEC for a "better fit"). Southeast, obviously Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia and Clemson/Florida State?
