  1. No color version for the Browns either, only monochrome. Speaking of which, are the Browns hiding in plain sight that they are officially changing back to white facemasks? https://www.fanatics.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/hats-nfl-draft/o-1338+t-69594649+d-97002219+c-8693+z-9-3859673479?pageSize=72&sortOption=TopSellers&_ref=p-DLP:m-SIDE_NAV
  2. Is updating the small wordmark below the NFL shield on the collar enough of a change that the Eagles are now locked into these uniforms for another 5 years?
  3. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/39586633/nba-story-clippers-new-uniforms-logos These are pretty nice!
  4. This is interesting. The backlash from the players over the new uniforms has gotten so loud that the union is now getting involved and demanding remedies. I doubt we are going to see wholesale changes, but I think things for MLB/Nike/Fanatics have gotten past the point of hoping this just blows over if they wait it out.
  5. Good breakdown of the differences. I would argue that getting rid of the mesh inserts on the sides and the tail in the back was an upgrade, but otherwise, yeah, these new authentics are a debacle. Someone belongs in jail for what they did to that beautiful Blue Jays logo on the front.
  6. I would assume all of that negative space in the team abbreviation boxes was the result of: 1. Both teams having 2-letter abbreviations, whereas most teams use 3 letters. 2. Space for records during the regular season.
  7. If you were hoping for the NFL to do anything more creative with the Super Bowl field design, better luck next year.
  8. Is that an old jersey with an SEC patch slapped on that that Texas recruit is wearing, or is the Longhorn logo on the collar making a comeback?
  9. Couple things: Haven’t seen it mentioned here, but the final 4 teams have IST patches on their jerseys similar to the Finals patches. A thought: Although the league didn’t explicitly say it, was the reason they didn’t want teams wearing uniforms too similar to the color of the floor was to avoid having problems with the digital court ads on the TV broadcast? That was why the Bucks’ cream uniforms got nixed a few years ago, right?
  10. Besides the aesthetic issues, safety might be the biggest problem with these courts. Players were slipping all over the place last night. The whole thing is a blown-out ACL waiting to happen.
  11. Know who else doesn’t like numbers on shorts? Nike. The Heat equipment staff has to put the numbers on the players’ shorts themselves. https://uni-watch.com/2023/11/01/miami-heats-uni-numbered-shorts-present-logistical-challenge/?fbclid=IwAR2bTh8eNNVoDgp_lEO3PnQ2bQIg9TmYlxtNmeinysEbIdq4RbtqpC0fBsw_aem_AYIWUe9Bis8yY4ArAcDM_iJsC4y_dMVca7kp4zxEl3E7TEY1qAR4FoTHo9AoCqy0aU4
  12. Has it been explained why so many teams that fully paint their end zones are leaving a small strip just inside the goal line and out-of-bounds lines unpainted this year? Design trend? League request? The Rams/Chargers started doing it a couple years ago when SoFi opened, but I’ve noticed a lot more fields with it that way this year. The only possible explanation I could come up with was that the NFL wants a consistent high-contrast surface to make it easier for officials to rule whether players are inbounds on close plays. I figured it had to be for functional reasons because, aesthetically, it’s clearly worse than painting all the way to the boundary.
  13. Cavs city edition unveiled at a season ticket holder event tonight. It’s a collab with the Playhouse Square theater district down the street from the arena.
  14. Kinda looks like the Rocket Mortgage logo rotated clockwise. Doubt that’s what it is though, given that Dan Gilbert owns a different franchise and his company has naming rights to their arena.
  15. I think one of the main reasons the Cowboys’ uniforms get attacked so aggressively here by some is that they are so close to having perfect uniforms but refuse to address a few minor issues. If their set was a totally lost cause (see: Commanders, Washington), it would be a different story. But when you see potential that is easily attainable, it gets frustrating to see stubbornness get in the way.
  16. Still bad and unnecessary, but better than the orange helmet/orange jersey combo.
  17. I don’t love the new Fox college graphics, but I am far more annoyed that they continue to distort the picture aspect ratio to add in their ticker.
  18. What’s especially annoying is that the Giants road uniform could be such an easy fix. Add a splash of blue — the socks or maybe the thin or thick stripes on the sleeves and pants — and boom, problem solved.
  19. The fact they don’t show the voting results on all these polls makes me wonder how legitimate they actually are.
  20. https://twitter.com/mysportsupdate/status/1684536362559492096?s=46&t=FwkQzzTavPC6FVuaaoarNw
  21. Wouldn’t want this as a full-time look for the Browns, but as an alternate? LOVE IT.
  22. Are the authentics for these ASG uniforms a preview of the next template for MLB teams? It’s long past time to replace the Majestic version with the awful side panels.
