Nike claims these 3 triangles represent each of the Bronco's Super Bowl wins. What happens if they win a 4th before the 5 years are up? (they wont)

Funny enough, that exact thing happened with Ohio State. Nike put buckeye leaves on the back collar with one for each national championship the program had won. The first season they wore these, they won their most recent national title. The following year (and in the years since), the jerseys now have "BUCKEYES" on the back collar where the leaves used to be.

  2. I’d like the Jets’ black alternate uniforms a lot more if the colors on the logo on the helmet were inverted so that “JETS” is white with a green outline to match the jersey numbers.

Take this with a grain of salt...

You could MAYBE talk me into mixing in an orange facemask for the white alternate helmet, but an orange facemask on their orange helmet would be significantly worse than all of the other options.

  4. This is interesting. The backlash from the players over the new uniforms has gotten so loud that the union is now getting involved and demanding remedies. I doubt we are going to see wholesale changes, but I think things for MLB/Nike/Fanatics have gotten past the point of hoping this just blows over if they wait it out.

Good breakdown of the differences. I would argue that getting rid of the mesh inserts on the sides and the tail in the back was an upgrade, but otherwise, yeah, these new authentics are a debacle. Someone belongs in jail for what they did to that beautiful Blue Jays logo on the front.

  6. Couple things:

Haven’t seen it mentioned here, but the final 4 teams have IST patches on their jerseys similar to the Finals patches.

A thought: Although the league didn’t explicitly say it, was the reason they didn’t want teams wearing uniforms too similar to the color of the floor was to avoid having problems with the digital court ads on the TV broadcast? That was why the Bucks’ cream uniforms got nixed a few years ago, right?

  7. Has it been explained why so many teams that fully paint their end zones are leaving a small strip just inside the goal line and out-of-bounds lines unpainted this year? Design trend? League request?

The Rams/Chargers started doing it a couple years ago when SoFi opened, but I’ve noticed a lot more fields with it that way this year.

The only possible explanation I could come up with was that the NFL wants a consistent high-contrast surface to make it easier for officials to rule whether players are inbounds on close plays. I figured it had to be for functional reasons because, aesthetically, it’s clearly worse than painting all the way to the boundary.

I saw that the Houston Rockets changed their profile picture to this for a couple of days before reverting back to the normal primary logo. It's likely nothing, but does anybody have insight as to what this is?

It feels like branding for an app

Kinda looks like the Rocket Mortgage logo rotated clockwise. Doubt that’s what it is though, given that Dan Gilbert owns a different franchise and his company has naming rights to their arena.

  9. I think one of the main reasons the Cowboys’ uniforms get attacked so aggressively here by some is that they are so close to having perfect uniforms but refuse to address a few minor issues. If their set was a totally lost cause (see: Commanders, Washington), it would be a different story. But when you see potential that is easily attainable, it gets frustrating to see stubbornness get in the way.

  10. What’s especially annoying is that the Giants road uniform could be such an easy fix. Add a splash of blue — the socks or maybe the thin or thick stripes on the sleeves and pants — and boom, problem solved.
