  1. Hey @Conrad., will the Cavs’ new uniforms have a more legible number font? Nothing I’ve seen in the rollout today gives me much hope.
  2. More info on the Cavs: https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2022/06/cleveland-cavaliers-undergo-identity-rebrand-with-modernized-logo-collection.html A couple notes: - Contrary to Chris’ mockup, the ball in the hoop V logo is the same color as Cavs - The gold on the jerseys will have a silicone coating to make it stand out more.
  3. Well…..Not exactly. https://news.artnet.com/art-world/daniel-arsham-cleveland-cavaliers-nba-1924041/amp-page
  4. Rumor has it the Cavs are unveiling a new logo and updated colors on Thursday.
  5. Maybe it’s a subtle hint of what’s to come or maybe I’m just reading too much into it, but I think the shade of gold in the text of this AIM away message the Cavs posted before signing off for the holiday weekend doesn’t match their current palette. Hmm.
  6. Besides the unveiling of the reimagined traditional Finals script, it looks like the conference champ locker room hats are paying homage to the late 90s Finals logo: https://store.nba.com/golden-state-warriors/mens-golden-state-warriors-new-era-gray/black-2022-western-conference-champions-locker-room-9fifty-snapback-adjustable-hat/t-70703952+p-933279343800+z-8-491034705?_ref=p-SFLP:m-GRID:i-r0c0:po-0
  7. Are we sure the Browns’ throwbacks were a one-year deal? There are jerseys with the throwback design being sold for players who weren’t on the team last year.
  8. Thought it was odd that the Cavs wore their city edition last night, but didn’t use the corresponding court. They are wearing the city set again on Wednesday, but then have 3 more home games in next 5 days where they are wearing other uniforms. Wonder if they just didn’t want to swap courts during a homestand. EDIT: Update! The Cavs’ city court is done for the year because of…water damage???
  9. Interested to see if the Cavs are bringing back Vegas gold across all their new uniforms, or if this is a one-off for the city edition. Also, that font for “LAND” looks a lot like the Richfield-era logo, although I can’t quite make out what is in between the L and the A here.
  10. Probably saving the left sleeve for an ad patch.
  11. It’s possible, but given the lead time needed for uniform changes, they would have had to start designing almost as soon as their current set was unveiled.
  12. “Rip City” is fine. Why the Blazers keep putting out uniforms where it is spelled out “ripcity” with no space, I will never understand. “ripcity” looks like a failed late-90s tech startup that went under when the dot-com bubble burst.
  13. The Guardians uniform mockups when the team announced the new name showed their winged-G baseball logo on the sleeve. https://www.audacy.com/923thefan/sports/cleveland-indians/first-look-at-the-new-cleveland-guardians-logos-and-uniforms Would that be allowed by MLB? MLB rule 3.03g: No part of the uniform shall include a pattern that imitates or suggests the shape of a baseball. http://mlb.mlb.com/documents/0/8/0/268272080/2018_Official_Baseball_Rules.pdf
  14. Fox was due for an update, but that new box is awful. Woof.
  15. I really wish I hadn’t noticed the swooshes on the jersey and pants not matching for no discernible reason. That’s going to drive me nuts.
  16. Yeah, for whatever reason, the Cavs have stuck with the old number font on their practice and summer league uniforms the past few years. The old font isn’t great—and it especially clashes with the rest of the current look—but at least those numbers are more legible than the current font.
  17. One of the things that stood out to me in the 2020 redesign was the wonky serif on the bottom of the 7. I assumed it was a “Nike being Nike” thing, but apparently there was a historical precedent with the 1946 uniforms. *cue NBC’s “The More You Know” jingle*
  18. I thought it was kinda odd for the design to put the focus on Milwaukee being 2x champions. Technically, it’s correct, of course, but the other title was 50 years ago.
  19. That’s the current number font, not the more traditional block font that was on the throwback that leaked. Messing with the brightness and color levels, that looks like an orange alternate. Hmm…
  20. I don’t mind the Jets’ current set, but the football in the helmet logo just looks so out of place. Everything else in their current look is sleek and angular, and the football with its rounded edges looks bland and dated.
  21. The timeline is a little hazy, but a new logo and uniforms are on the way for the Cavs: https://www.nssmag.com/en/sports/25645/daniel-arsham-cleveland-cavaliers-logo Separately, I’ve heard that the team is phasing out navy and going with wine/gold/black/white. This makes sense, as if you look closely, their primary court this season is limited to those colors (the drop shadow on the logo at center court is black instead of navy).
  22. Fox did the Thursday night games in 4K through its app and a couple providers, but that was about it. Hopefully the other networks start to get on board soon.
  23. Have to assume this is going to be a throwback of some sort.
