Original XFL owner Vince McMahon is set to make a “major sports announcement” this afternoon, this just a month after Alpha Entertainment – a company McMahon is involved with – had trademarked “XFL” with the USPTO for “entertainment services in the nature of professional football games”.

Very nice ring. What does the XVH on the side mean?

    Found this.....

The Roman numerals "XVI-I" -- to represent Golden State's playoff record

     also..

There are 36 princess blue sapphires to represent the number of Warriors' home wins last season, while the 31 white trapezoid diamonds represent the team's away wins. On top of the ring, there are 83 diamonds that represent the Warriors' total number of regular season and playoff wins combined.

and it only happened thanks to the cheapness that was Chris Cohan. Warriors were suppose to change a year earlier. But he didn't want to spend the 500k fee for changing logo. They tried to get league to waive fee since they were forced to drop mascot since OKC stole his name. "Thunder"   Warriors even had blowout sale on all the jerseys the season before at the last game because they thought they were changing. Was nice getting jerseys that didn't change the next season for like $5-$15

  4. I do like the consistency, but regardless of lineage, it's inaccurate. IMO the banner should reflect the title that the team won. They weren't presented with an NBA trophy, they were (I assume, anyway) presented with a BAA trophy, and the newspapers at the time (probably) referred to them as the BAA champions, and the parade (which probably didn't exist) would have been to celebrate a BAA title.

I really like that script, though that's the only part of their old imagery that I cared for. Did the banners ever have any of the NA imagery on them?

They never had any banners for the first two championships until last year. They only had their 75 championship banner. But when NBA added 3x champions on their jerseys. To not make that confusing they added the first two banners absent of any NA imagery.

  5. The Miami Heat continue their proud tradition of superfluous banners with the addition of a HOF notation on Zo's retired jersey.

Wow. Do they really put up banners for players on the team who won gold medals in the Olympics? That just seems really dumb. They didn't win them for the Heat... they won them for the pride of their nation. Jeez. I'd like to see an NHL team try and do that

Here's a serious question though: who would get the raise Shaq's number up in their rafters? Or has that happened already? I really don't follow the NBA.

you are talking about the same team that did this...
