  1. It was about being his 3rd strike on team rules violations. And disrespecting a food service worker, when you're guests at the hotel is not something that any team should put up with.
  2. As someone who worked in the AAF, I can tell you that this is a great idea for saving money. You pay for two stadiums, one hotel, and a handful of practice sites to help keep costs down. That way you can save your money and by your 2nd or 3rd season, the you can move into those markets because you can afford it.
  3. I find it interesting that New Jersey is labeled blue on the score bug. Is blue their secondary color? I thought they were red and white and blue was tertiary.
  4. Oddly specific question I know, but I'm looking to buy a Madden game for my PS3 and I'm looking for one with the best Create-A-Team. And by that, I mean the one that provides you with the most options and customizations. Suggestions?
  5. Can you please explain? I know what happened with FAMU wasn't exactly the idea circumstances for an HBCU to move up, but TSU could make it. Why do you think it would be a disaster?
  6. The last time Notre Dame played an FCS team was November 5, 1955. They played AT Penn. And yes, they never played an HBCU.
  7. Eddie George talking about Tennessee State wanting to become an FBS program. Does Tennessee State have FBS dreams?
  8. A friend of mine that worked for both the Vipers and the Apollos told me that the original plan was to have the Vipers in Orlando, but because the AAF got their first, they had to settle for Tampa.
  9. I'm curious on everyone's opinions on what a championship ring represents. As someone who has four, I get into "debates" with people all the time regarding the legitimacy of my ownership of these rings. What it comes down to, and the question I ask, is what the ring represents. To me, it's a culmination of hard work throughout the year/season that results in a ring as a reward for that hard work (besides the paycheck). What seems to be lost to some is 1) Who should get the ring and 2) what you get it for. The first issue comes up in the role. Some argue that only players and coaches deserve rings and not staff or students that work for the team. And the second issue is in regard to why you receive it. That rings are only given if you participated in all events. For example, let's say you're a staff member or player and you've been doing your job all year. Bowl season comes and you can't make the game, (sickness, injury, whatever) and the team wins. Well some people feel that if you don't actually attend/work/play that game, then you don't get the ring, because the ring is for just that one game. But again, I counter that a ring is representative of the whole season. In my personal life there seems to be a lot of debate and I'm tired of having to defend myself, but I know that if the teams I worked for didn't value me as a member of the team, that I would't have them to begin with. Still, I want to know what everyone here thinks.
  10. I do love the Gunslingers uniforms. I love the green, blue, and silver combo with white numbers and facemask! True the logo could use some work, but everything else is solid! I think that if/when the USFL wants to return to San Antonio, and I think they will given how much that city loved their Commanders, they can bring back the color scheme, but could change the name up. Simply going with "Slingers" might work, or some other wild west variation. Marshalls, Rangers, etc.
  11. I interviewed for a position with FIU football about 5-6 months ago. I was interviewed by Coach Davis as the final part of the day-long interview. While talking about the position, and the program overall, he brought up all these points about issues with shoulder pads and money. I don't think that he is lying nor is he being petty or anything else. He was genuine with me. His attitude was "it is what it is and I've been doing my best to make it better since I got here." He addressed it to me so I knew the situation I may be getting into. So to me, telling a prospective employee this and brining it up here, illustrates that there are problems within the FIU program and he is still very upset that they haven't been corrected.
  12. Why would't the MWC want UTEP? Like what is some legitimate reasoning?
  13. From an administrative point-of-view, I don't think that's how it works.
  14. Well, something tells me Liberty won't be joining a conference anytime soon. https://twitter.com/RobergMartin37/status/1452657913634463745
  15. I was with you until you mentioned "THE BANDS". As someone who spent two years working on an HBCU football team, I can honestly say that the most difficult part of the whole experience was dealing with the band on game day.
  16. I think C-USA can be saved. There are a number of FCS teams that want to move up, and this could be there chance.
  17. It was only Montana that had the invite, but state politics would have made sure that MSU had gone with them. But, as I understood it at the time, Montana was not interested in the WAC because they saw the writing on the wall for the conference and didn't want to leave the Big Sky to end up in a dissolving WAC. Now, I think both schools would take a shot with the Mountain West or C-USA. Assuming C-USA gets western teams like Idaho and New Mexico State.
  18. I'm curious why Georgia State is not on that list.
  19. From what I can tell, yes. They have a new basketball arena, and plan on upgrading football in the near future. They didn't want to move down, they were forced to. And it's my impression they want to get back up.
  20. If they expand by two, I can see Montana and Montana State moving up. If by four, Idaho and (maybe) Weber.
  21. I agree with Montana and Montana State, but I'm not so sure about EWU and Portland State. EWU because of the continued financial issues they've been having and Portland State because their primary stadium, Hillsboro Stadium, is not up to MW standards. Sure they have Providence Park, but they don't always play games there. In fact, they don't play a single game at Providence Park this season. Now I could see Idaho return to the FBS and teams like NAU or Weber try and make a move up.
  22. What would happen if in the even that Boise State, Colorado State, San Diego State, and Air Force, all leave the Mountain West? Where would the conference turn? I see some Big Sky teams moving up.
  23. Here's my question: What exactly does the American have, that the Mountain West doesn't, that would make it attractive for Boise, Colorado State, Air Force, and San Diego State? I feel that these teams should stay in the Mountain West. I really don't see the need for them to move. The American should target Georgia State, UAB, Charlotte, FIU/FAU, and any of the Texas C-USA schools. I don't see why you need a conference that goes from Philadelphia to San Diego.
