  1. France is so good. So so good. It seems almost effortless for them. Australia will be lucky to keep it 2-1 the rest of the way. EDIT: I also have to add how much I dislike the Fox commentators and general broadcast. I miss ESPN’s World Cup coverage tremendously.
  2. Correct on the criticism that Berhalter leans too much on MLS players but I feel as though you’ve missed the major reasons why people, and myself, do not like Berhalter as the USMNT manager. He coaches this team like a club team, forcing the players to fit his system rather than tailoring a system to fit his best players. He has horrendous in-game management, doesn’t know how to make proper adjustments against quality teams and makes horrific substitutions. Those are the main reasons why most of us do not rate him as a manager. It has nothing to do with how he was hired or any other reason. It was clear as day as soon as Dest, Musah and Weah were subbed off for their MLS counterparts the quality of play for the US dropped considerably. They seemed nervous, timid and clearly looked outmatched. Hell, Zimmerman, who is easily the best MLS-based USMNT player committed one of the dumbest fouls I’ve seen in a WC. What was the reason of bringing Joe Scally to Qatar (arguably the team’s best RB or at least the clear 2nd best RB in the NT) only to play Yedlin who hasn’t been good in years? And I’m sorry, but playing Jordan Morris for even a single second in the World Cup is an atrocious decision. Morris has no technical ability whatsoever and ever since his ACL tear, lost the only thing he had on the international stage which was his speed/acceleration. If Weah needed a sub, bring on Reyna (who isn’t hurt, this is confirmed by both Berhalter and Reyna himself) or LDLT and move Aaronson to the RW. Anyone but Morris. There is a clear USMNT talent drop off from their European based players to their MLS guys. It’s obvious to everyone, except MLS homers. Until the MLS quality of play increases to that of top European, no USMNT roster should have more than 2-3 MLS guys.
  3. Shouldn’t have lost this game. Makes the Iran match a must win unless the US somehow beats England. Massive missed opportunity. Second half the team was not nearly as clinical or clean as they needed to be. Berhalter’s subs were atrocious aside from McKinnie for Aaronson which should have happened 10 minutes earlier. Adams and Musah were outstanding, especially Adams. I can’t believe Jordan freakin’ Morris was subbed on instead of Gio Reyna too. What in the world. Gregg might be the only manager in the world who would think to bring on Morris instead of Reyna when needing a goal.
  4. One of the best halves I’ve seen the US play in the Berhalter era. The US so far has looked crisp, confident and they’re showing they have vastly more quality than Wales. Go get another goal in the 2nd half and grab those 3 points. No let up.
  5. I am nervous! Can’t believe I was 22 the last time I watched the USMNT in the World Cup and now I’m 31. Been a long 8 years! Expecting the worst but hoping for the best. Either we advance out of the group or Bethalter is fired in disgrace after a terrible showing over this next week. That’s a win-win for USMNT fans.
  6. It’s a little late, but that had to be one of the most impressive Cowboys wins I’ve ever witnessed. All-around. Offense was unstoppable and defense played like the league’s best. I’ve never seen the Cowboys dominate another contender like that in my lifetime. Maybe they needed that utter embarrassment last week to humble themselves. The Cowboys, objectively speaking, have a real opportunity to be 11-3 by Christmas Eve.
  7. There might not be any great teams this year. Just a decent amount of good ones. FTR, Cowboys haven’t lost to the Vikings in Minnesota in 12 years, I think that ends today.
  8. I believe Spain did in 2014, ironically also wearing red, white and black kits.
  9. That disallowed goal isn’t a good look for FIFA. What an egregious call and of course it was to the benefit of Qatar. Qatar looks absolutely terrible. Easily one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen at a World Cup. Hope they get blown out when they play Netherlands and Senegal too.
  10. That’s your first mistake, never root for the Cowboys. They’ll always let you down. I had low expectations for this game but the Cowboys still left me disappointed. Honestly it’s impressive at this point.
  11. I’m with you there. I like these kits overall but I hate the centralized sponsor logo and crest. It’s what has so far stopped me from buying one. And as you correctly pointed out the star will make it even more crowded. Although winning the cup yesterday has changed that for me. I almost have to buy it with the star now.
  12. Just finding out the Maxine Crépeau suffered a compound fracture near the ankle. Absolutely brutal injury. Just two weeks before the World Cup too. Even tho we won, I still have to criticize Murillo for playing that absolutely AWFUL ball back to Crépeau. Utterly irresponsible and it cost a man an opportunity to be in the World Cup (I know Crépeau has been a backup for Canada and would have likely been a backup again).
  13. WHAT. A. GAME. Best MLS Cup Final ever. I’m still stunned. Cannot believe this team finally did it. I thought the game was over for sure when Elliot put the Union ahead near the end but this team just does not quit. Even with just 10 men, Bale with the best goal in our history to save it. I have never cried over my team winning anything in my life until today. It’s a special championship because I’ve supported this team from the start. Before we even had a crest or colors. Before we had signed anyone, before ground even broke on the Banc. Super thrilled and happy for Carlos Vela. Our first ever player, our Captain and our best player finally winning that elusive cup. MLS Cup Champions! Will never forget this.
  14. That would be interesting. Maybe? There is a lot of white on this uniform, so maybe a navy throwback vs. the Giants royal blue would contrast enough, but we'll see. I do agree it's strange that we haven't seen the throwbacks at all, although the Cowboys have seemingly indicated it's the old throwbacks from last decade, also judging too from their pro-store and the jerseys they sell.
  15. Maybe it’s the lighting (and it probably is) but the Cowboys throwback (fauxback) helmet looks like a brighter blue than the previous iteration. More like the original uniform these are supposed to be a throwback to. I’m also of the opinion that these Power Ranger looking a** helmets look terrible.
  16. The NFL is weird. Going into the Cowboys-Bears game, you’d figure that a match up between two top 10 defenses and two bottom 10 offenses would be a low scoring game, yeah? So naturally it’s a high scoring shootout with the Cowboys being the first team to score 49 or more points this season lol. 6-2 going into the bye after losing Dak for 5 weeks? I’ll take it. Schedule is about to open up too, Cowboys have a real opportunity to start stringing together games.
  17. No effing way, the boys actually did it. They actually did it. LAFC is going to (hosting) the MLS Cup Final! I’m going to try to get tickets. Without a doubt. Can’t miss this.
  18. He's very good when he's not the sole pass rusher or primary pass rusher. Eagles have some really good pass rushers in Reddick and Graham already, adding Quinn to that is a good pick-up. He'll be good for the Eagles.
  19. Cowboys are wearing navy at home and the Bears are supposedly wearing those hideous orange uniforms. Gross.
  20. Correct the shade of blue to their original dark royal blue and silver (oldschool has a fantastic concept utilizing that gorgeous color scheme) and the Cowboys have had that black outline on the double blue sleeve stripes on their uniform for over 50 years now. No need to change that.
  21. Conference Finals are set, both games next Sunday. LAFC v. Austin at 12pm PT Philadelphia Union v. NYCFC at 8pm ET. Wish the LAFC game wasn’t starting so early. Was hoping to go to the game but with that start time I won’t be able to.
  22. My favorite European club Newcastle moved up into 4th in the EPL with their win over Tottenham today AND they're going to offer 45 million pounds to Chelsea for Pulisic (who's my favorite player) in the January window? Yes please.
  23. Going out on a huge limb here, but the Packers and Bucs are not good football teams. It's still early in the season but they both have problems everywhere. With the Cowboys, the defense is still ridiculously good; Dak looked a little rusty which was expected, but played better as the game went on. He had some plays that clearly showed the difference between him and Rush and what the Cowboys were missing these last 5 weeks. Tony Pollard is RB1 and the sooner the Cowboys realize that, the better the offense will be. Overall though, it was good to have Dak back and see the Cowboys play their most complete game of the season. I feel pretty comfortable in stating that the Cowboys are the 2nd best team in the conference.
