What about posting concept images in spoilers on threads in the "Sports Logos" section?  I don't think spoilered images load until clicked on in mobile (won't eat up data or slow the page too much), and it will keep things decluttered overall.  It seems to be fine to say, "I think they should do X, Y, and Z.", but posting a picture showing what it would look like if a team actually did those things is verboten.  I think the concepts help visualize what people are talking about.

I think there's a difference between the two following examples. 1 can encourage discussion and 2 doesn't really contribute. The two should be treated differently.

    1) I think Team X should do X, Y and Z to improve their look. Something like this is what I mean *image*

    2) Oh look, discussion about Team X. Look at my concept for Team X. Shameless Pluggg!!!!1!

You're just doing fantastic catching the essential things of the french teams, pal. Carry on with the concepts, please, I really like them all.

I agree with this. It proves that your German concepts weren't just a fluke as you've shown now with two separate leagues/countries that you understand how to create a suitable classic look for them with the design elements that you use.

  3. Phenomenal series. PSV Köln is possibly my favourite but I love how all teams have an authentic German feel to them. From crest design, to colour schemes and shirt sponsor choices.

I agree with the Bayern Nurnberg thing. I also find it a little strange that Daimler sponsor a team with a Porsche inspired crest. Possible a confict of interests? They are the only things I see as 'wrong'. Most of what you have created is fantastic and I really see this thread as a benchmark for anybody else trying to create their own soccer series.

Are you planning to create other leagues in the future?

Any idea about how to disable notifications once they've been enabled?  I feel like I should know how to do this but I can't find a way.

For me I had to disable it using the advanced settings in chrome. I had a similar problem with Facebook notifications popping up. Not sure if this is the same issue as you but this is where I fixed it:

Settings > Show advanced settings > Privacy > Content Settings > Notifications > Manage Exceptions > Then choose the Block dropdown for the site you want to block.

Now that circular avatars are gone (always a bad idea) I really like the member title area next to each post.

I agree with this. I think it's an improvement on the old layout.

I would prefer it if the member's rep points was replaced with the join date though. I quite often use a combination of the join date and post count to weigh up whether or not somebody is a quality poster worth taking the time to read or just someone who comments because they can. I also think having the rep points score as visible as it is now may affect the way people post as they try to score points rather than add value to the discussion.

I don't know whether this is possible or if it is already being looked into. Just a suggestion.

  6. A question: how does a thread get into the goldmine? Can one of us nominate a thread? Is it more official or unofficial?

A mod will move it there if they see fit and feel that nothing more needs adding to the discussion. It is definitely unofficial and nominating a thread to go to the goldmine is usually frowned upon by other members. Mainly because it encourages "INB4 GOLDMINE!!!1!" comments in every semi-decent thread.

Put simply: if a thread is good enough to be goldmined, it will be goldmined.

  7. My issue with mobile is if there's a multi-page thread and I haven't kept up with it, there's no way for me to just jump to the last page. I have to click "next page" and wait for it to load over and over.

Are you able to just change the page number in the address bar at the top? For example if you wanted to jump from your post to page 32:

    boards.sportslogos.net/topic/102156-questions-not-covered-in-the-faq-thread/page-59#entry2502804

    becomes

    boards.sportslogos.net/topic/102156-questions-not-covered-in-the-faq-thread/page-32

It works for me using Chrome on Android.

  8. The stadium is part of the Northumberland Development Project which sits at the heart and is the flagship scheme and catalyst for world-class regeneration in North Tottenham that spans over 130 acres and delivers significant benefits for the local community.

Is this English for "the stadium will revitalize downtown and spur development"? I need a translator, but this sounded like B.S. I like how they used the word "scheme," though. You'd never see that in America.

The Club and council are looking to really get a grip with the area apart from the Stadium the plans include.

To add to what IanC has rightly said the whole Northumberland Development Project is well under way. This can be seen on a recent aerial photo below:

    B-Sv1xbIgAAZxdA.jpg

The current stadium is top right. The foundation work on the new stadium can be seen central and the building on the left is a finished building which is part of the project. As well as new housing and jobs there will also be a new primary (elementary) school, technical college (16-18 years old), Sainsbury's supermarket (now open) and just general redevelopment of historic buildings along the main road in an area that has been neglected.

TL;DR: It's not just BS. The community will benefit from this project.

  9. Whenever I try adding logos, stripes, etc to a template, I use the multiply option. It works great on white helmets, jerseys, and pants, but if it's a colored background, then it changes the color of whatever I add on. I know I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas?

First, learn how the multiply blend mode works. You will see why I am suggesting what I say below. There are many articles and youtube tutorials as this is a very commonly used layer mode. Read/watch enough of them until you understand.

It sounds like you have your layers set up the wrong way round. The template design should be at the top in multiply mode. All of the logos, stripes and other design features should be below in normal mode.

EDIT: The above only really applies to a flat template. If you are using a photorealistic template, you could put all of your stripes, logos etc into a folder and set the folder to multiply with all of the layers inside the folder set to normal.

  10. What about the people who discovered this site because of the concepts section - for example me. Putting these suggested measures in won't stop plagiarism but it will stop bringing people to the site who may take great enjoyment in seeing some great concepts.

If people don't want their work stolen, then they should watermark it properly. IMO, responsibility shouldn't be with the people running this site but the concept creators themselves.

Perhaps a section about watermarking could be added to the new users guide? If it isn't already there.

  11. Oh my word. That makes it SO much easier.

For the gray overlay layer, if you set the red output to 50 in each channel you get a neutral gray color.

Ye, I tend to play about with the values again quite a bit once I am done.

My latest template was a soccer template for the ESCC contest on here hosted by Raysox. I used a jersey, shorts and socks from completely separate images which were all different colours originally. I waited until I had finished my first concept on the template before trying to match the black/grey/white layers for each element to each other and this seemed to help a lot.

I highly recommend this method. It may take a while to get used to but in the long run it will save you a ton of time. Especially when compared to using the hue/saturation slider method to achieve the same result.

  12. I've some designs that I want to put on this image, but I just can't quite understand how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The main problem comes with the white and black master layers, creating them, and then adding colors to those so that the individual pieces (shirt, shorts, and socks) are different from the above image.

What I do to create the master black, master grey and master white layers is use the channel mixer method detailed in the below tutorial. You can then use Darth_Brooks methods to set them as screen, multiply and overlay.

As your chosen image has 3 different colours on the shirt, you will have to do this separately for each colour segment and this may prove difficult to match up exactly.

  13. At least one? It's not unusual for both sides to be made up of guys with pink, orange or green footwear! At City we at least have Alex Bruce who never looks anything less than magnificent in his black World Cups, essentially Copas with screw in studs.

There was a game this year when all 11 starting players for Tottenham wore that highlighter green/yellow shade of boots. Can't remember which match, but it was one where Dawson wasn't playing as he wears white Under Armour boots usually.

Either way, it is a trend I will be happy to see the back of.

  14. Boots meanwhile are a player's choice and many will have boot deals with manufacturers who are keen to have their latest style shown off. However, all right thinking people know the correct colour for football boots is always black. Always. ;)

    Correct.

If I was made dicator put in charge of FIFA I would only allow players the choice between these three sets of boots:

Which seems to be an unpopular opinion now as every match I see in this country, from Premier League, to Sunday League to kids matches at least one player is wearing a pair of these:

  15. On my member page it says "11 good" in green, what does that mean?

This may be a dumb question, but what does the number in the green rectangle to the right side on a profile page mean?

For example, my profile says 7 - Neutral.

It's the number of likes your posts have gotten- 7people have liked your posts.
  16. Is there any way to get buttons put into place for spoiler and media tags? Or do they exist already and I've been overlooking them?

You have to type out a full reply - not a quick reply. The 3rd button in on the top row is "Special BB Code" and gives you a drop down box where media and spoiler are some of the options.

I usually just type them out though as it is quicker.
