With that, the Eagles bringing back the Cunningham/Reggie era jerseys as an alt…would be awesome if Nike could figure out metallics for once. Get some actual silver pants.

Hopefully there’s a tweak next year to coincide with the Kelly Green’s coming back + the new Wordmark. Though could see them dragging it out over two seasons to max the merch. But yeah Midnight green is here to stay, especially if they win again in it.

Yeah, I wonder if the idea is to just grandfather the black helmet in, once they have it it’s harder to say no to it staying. That’s even if they cared to put that much into it. Wonder if they debut a new black uniform that uses the Kelly design as a base / that green as an accent color. Would be a way to add more uni combos and make that color more of a part of the brand. Essentially one of these types

Yeah it could just be that. There was some talk that there could be more, even just a main logo tweak to be more in line with the new Wordmark. My bad I remember some of them talking about it but might’ve just been misinterpreted by the community.

It could just be logo tweaks, but seemed like maybe a little more. I’ll try to find some of those.

Might be 2025, but that’s the report from some of the beat writers around the time of the new Wordmark dropping. Could be a tweak or more, no clue. Inference was that was step 1z Was kinda hard to disseminate speculation from sourced info.

Important note: Lurie and the Eagles are petitioning to keep both. If they are only allowed one Alt helmet they’ll go Kelly next year yes… but their aim is to have all 3. They reportedly are getting the whole look tweaked/changed in 2024, so that decision next year will impact that too.

I’d love to see an actually designed full eagle that isn’t just the current head plopped on the retro bird’s body as a new alt logo if they are indeed refreshing those too. but I am a sucker for this style too

If they are making a change, I’d assume finally hearing about the one-shell rule going away was one of the major factors into deciding to do it, hearing if they can indeed use 3 will also factor into the finally choices.

Will always be some level of overlap. This would be a like once maybe twice a year look, would be fine and different enough if they did something like that.

I think whenever they do the refresh positioning the Kelly green alts will be a big part of it. Lurie fought for that for awhile and will want to take his victory lap. Have a feeling it’ll be like the chargers a couple years ago but more options with the helmets. Even more if the league let’s them keep and use 3 like they want. Could see them use stuff like the black helmet with the white top and a version of the black pants as a rare combo. Really depends on how lax the league is. Eagles 2023/2024? Helmet: MG, KG, Bk Jersey: MG, Wt, KG, Bk Pants: Wt, MG, Retro Silver, Bk, Bk2 Socks: Bk, Retro, All Bk / Bk with retro bands Shoes: Black/MG, Wt retro, Black/KG As I said in one of the above posts, I think the switch greens for the black uniforms. Kelly Green has stayed super popular within their merchandise for a long time, actually integrating it back in on the field will be big.

It could be, I think it could also just be preemptive to adding the Kelly green next year as an alt. It fits both colors, kinda evokes the retro wordmark but with a modern flair. Also obviously works with Black too And since we heard Kelly was coming back but they might only allow one extra helmet…I’ve wondered if this is what they might be doing. All black with the Kelly green helmet. Even if they can keep a third helmet the Kelly actually works with the black opposed to the midnight. Just brings the color way more into their branding. They’ve used a more neon version of it the last bunch of years kind of setting the groundwork. maybe it leads to more changes though yeah for the home and away.

Was coming to post this, previous one has been in place more or less since 96. New one will definitely fit better for stuff like the end zone, banners, social. Last one wasn’t perfect but fit with the whole look, curious if more changes are coming soon. It’s fine, not an upgrade or giant downgrade. Without the notches I think it’s kinda a nice subtle modern take. As much as I’d like to see them refresh their look, if the plan is to have the numbers all have a notch out of them like the E’s…I’m good.

I’d take it I’d suppose, much better than being so mismatched. Which when you think of it is what the division does aside from the eagles for their home and away…kinda odd Cowboys - Totally different Blues & silvers, as well as Style Commanders - totally different style and color palette between the home and away Giants - Red numbers and stripes compared to their all blue home jersey Philly would need to move their white/away look to being devoid of green like the Commanders and gold, or Giants and blue. Or do Kelly green instead of midnight like the cowboys do.

Would take away the easy money they’ll keep getting to switch ha. But yeah it should be ok for them to wear anything outside 50-79 I think too.

Really in line with other men’s brands, which is a lot of their users I’d imagine. Like go to the men’s products aisle at Target and this fits right in now.

Might even go the way of the bone and have a new alt white jersey take its place

Think the Union was a fairly good marriage of MLS naming motifs and something that worked for the area on a lot of levels. Would’ve been interesting though to have Philadelphia Athletic, would that have been possible? Or would it have had some issues?

Yeah it did seem a little odd. They make enough close to it. Only thing I could think is they just didn’t have the surplus of those fabrics in that color on hand to make sure they were ready on top of all the other stuff they’re doing. But really just seems like a we didn’t rush it / get it in on time thing.

Being able to do both again though is the point. Not necessarily for the Eagles, but for all teams. A lot of looks get to come back now, a lot of looks this community holds as the peak designs teams have had.
