  1. It was a preseason game, it didn't matter to anyone on the Mavericks outside of like 4 players who were trying to not get cut from the roster. I'm not saying that euroball isn't enjoyable, but it's disingenuous to use a preseason game to insinuate that a euroball team would ever even come remotely close to the NBA Finals.
  2. Luka Doncic scored 9 points in 5 minutes and Kyrie Irving didn't play. The Mavericks would've won by 30 if both played a full game.
  3. Doesn't look like there's been an official statement released, but I've seen this paragraph verbatim on multiple articles: "The updated guidance reaffirms that on-ice player uniforms and gear for games, warmups and official team practices cannot be altered to reflect theme nights, including Pride, Hockey Fights Cancer or military appreciation celebrations. Players can voluntarily participate in themed celebrations off the ice." So it seems like the league specifically said no gay tape. Though knowing the state of journalism it might have just been a bunch of sites just copying the same article.
  4. It's not really random. For time elements they use the serif and for non-time elements they use sans serif.
  5. He's had 27 turnovers in the last 19 games. He's reverted to all his old bad habits since Dabol left.
  6. This is legitimately dumber than "the iconic jaws of husky stadium," though nothing will ever beat "contrasting stitching honors YOU, the hard-working, blue-collar CLEVELANDER (the brown is unchanged)."
  7. Would've liked to see what the effect actually looks like rather than what happens when an intern lowers the exposure and slaps green + gaussian blur over the original image.
  8. Looking at it this way, I'd actually go with #3 as well. The angled number didn't translate the same way in the picture with the purple jersey the way it does on the white jersey. Definitely would go with #3 for both seeing it in that context.
  9. Yeah, 2 is easily the best. Not everything has to be geometrically perfect to look good. At least in my mind the wordmark doesn't need to be centered because it's a part of a larger graphic as a whole that fills in that space.
  10. Nope. Patriots are wearing their throwbacks against the Dolphins week 2. So both games between them will feature one team in a throwback.
  11. The Zubaz Revolution was thankfully crushed after its short lived rise in 2013
  12. Sure, I'll let you know. Trade dress is a part of trademark law that signifies the source of a product through its visual appearance, that can include color schemes. The Texans wearing a color scheme specifically designed to make them look like the Oilers could create confusion in the NFL jersey sales market since the Titans still sell Oilers jerseys.
  13. There's a 100% chance my hockey brain reads that C logo as a captain's patch every time I see it.
  14. Nation*l Americ*n Has anyone checked for lead in the water in Eugene?
  15. Pretty on brand for a Jacobs family organization if we're being honest.
  16. I think it's 3 things working at once. First, as you've noted, adidas has made the jersey worse overall, socks, numbers, and general overall construction looks worse. Second, there's always been a not-insignificant portion of the Bruins fan base that just prefers the 80 to early 90s jerseys over the current ones. I'm not one of them personally, but those jerseys have always been pretty beloved, especially since they're associated with guys like Ray Bourque and our terrible GM. Third, the jersey's nearly 20 years old and an also not-insignificant portion of the general public likes change for the sake of change. I'm sure for some people it's just gotten stale.
  17. This video is about as accurate as a Bruins big board on draft night.
  18. Yeah, don't take anything Babz says at face value. He's your bog standard sports blogger who will post anything he hears and will add "take it with a grain of salt" to cover his ass
  19. Weirdly enough, I'm actually fine with the single color shoulder numbers on the Flyers' orange jersey, but on the white jersey they look awful. Something about the black on white looks much more substantial than the white on orange.
  20. They'll likely eventually get the trademark. The denial was based on the Army-Air Force game called the Commanders' Classic and a Trademark Squatter who has claimed he'll give them up for free to the team. They'll have their lawyers argue that the Washington Commanders won't be confused with a single college football game. That should be persuasive, though when it comes to soft IP in the US the logical outcome doesn't always occur. The other trademarks will either be abandoned or turned over to the team for free or they'll pay the guy to obtain them.
  21. The 49ers were able to use a black jersey despite it only being on the on the logo on the regular jerseys, so the change probably wouldn't have been necessary for that.
