  1. These are actually a hold over from last year, they wore them against Western Kentucky. But yeah, not great. Seems like it would be easy for Southern Miss to have a nice look with those colors, but outside of the current white jerseys they haven’t been able to do so since leaving Nike.
  2. Yeah, I think that was definitely part of the idea behind it. Was very ill-timed though with Texas A&M joining the conference and giving them a uniform with such a similar concept. Ultimately it all worked out though. Definitely intrigued to see what A&M rolls out this year.
  3. Interestingly, Mississippi State also wore very similar jerseys, but in the mid 80s (1984 and 1985 to be exact). Emory Bellard was the head coach of both those mid-70s A&M and mid-80s MSU teams, clearly he liked the style.
  4. Usually the url will end with page-##. Change the numbers and you can jump to whatever page you want to.
  5. Chris Creamer has been promoting that name; it was his idea and it seems to be gaining traction.
  6. I recall before the renovations, they were threatened to move to the Mississippi coast- Gulfport or Biloxi, which always seemed strange to me. Would they still be considered a New Orleans team? I remember that rumor. There are plenty of Saints fans in south Mississippi, but moving away from downtown New Orleans isn't a good idea. They held training camp in Jackson twice after Katrina. I remember buying a shirt with a Mississippi version of this logo:
  7. I'm sure Mike Bianchi will push UCF and USF to the Big 12. He wrote this idiotic article last June saying that UCF and USF should replace the two Mississippi schools in the SEC: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2014-06-06/sports/os-mike-bianchi-saturday-circus-0607-20140606_1_ucf-and-usf-ucf-football-coach-george-o-leary It's a bit ironic now, seeing as both Mississippi schools are playing in New Year's Six bowls.
  8. I think Houston and Cincinatti would work. I've heard Memphis mentioned also, but I doubt that would work. At the very least, they need to get a waiver from the NCAA to have a championship game with 10 teams. They don't even need divisons. Keep the current scheduling format at let the two teams with the best record play a rematch in the conference championship.
  9. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/104283/uab-football-program-cant-outrun-past-escape-shadow-of-alabamaThis article says they will. The C-USA would then have an even number of teams, but damn this sucks for UAB. Actually, I thought Charlotte is a member of C-USA and will play a full-conference schedule next year. That would make it 13 teams and you get the problem the MAC has. C-USA should add James Madison or Liberty to even the number of teams.UMass is leaving the MAC, so it will be back to 12 teams after 2015. I think South Alabama is the logical replacement for UAB in the C-USA. Same state, program on the rise, etc...
  10. Agreed. That'll probably be the cap I get if I make it to a game this summer.
  11. Not so fast. Also, here's a link with background on the name and high(er)-quality versions of the logos. http://bensbiz.mlblogs.com/2014/11/24/shuckin-with-buck-in-biloxi/
  12. They were just un-stickied. You should still be able to find them using the search feature.Searched and couldn't find them. Why were they un stickied?I believe (and I'd have to check this when not on mobile) they were all merged into the combined TEMPLATES thread to reduce the quantity of pinned topics.Bad move. That's going to make it harder to find .psd templates because people will have to sift through all the other types of templates.
  13. If the silver-green is so iconic, then they should just eliminate the basic silver and use the silver-green everywhere. If they do that, match the blues, and give the blue jersey the same striping pattern as the white jersey, then they will have one of the best identities in the league.

  15. Under this scenario, the SEC and Big 10 have 16 teams each. Instead of splitting into two 8-team divisions, they would split into four 4 team divisions, with the division winner competing in a 4-team playoff for the conference championship. For example, here's how the SEC would work with 16 teams- SOUTH- Mississippi State Ole Miss Alabama Auburn WEST- LSU Arkansas Missouri Texas A&M NORTH- Tennessee Vanderbilt Kentucky Virginia EAST- Florida Georgia South Carolina NC State Schedule- 3 vs Division Opponents, 2 vs Permenant Opponents, 3 vs Rotating nonDivison Opponents 3 vs D 1.1 non-conference opponents 1 vs D 1.2 opponents Permanent opponents- MSU- UK and aTm OM- LSU and VDY ALA- LSU and UT AUB- ARK and UG LSU- OM and ALA ARK- AUB and VIR MIZ- USC and NCST aTm- MSU and UG UT- ALA and UF VDY- OM and USC UK- MSU and UF VIR- ARK and NCST UF- UT and UK UG- aTm and AUB USC- VDY and MIZ NSCT- VIR and MIZ
  16. Here's a little-bit more realistic vision of what college football alignment could look like in about 10 years. The NCAA splits Divison 1 into 3 seperate football divisons, D1.1, D1.2, and D1.3. D1.1 contains the power 5 conferences, totaling 72 teams. D1.2 contains 88 teams, including the current group of five conferences (which I listed the alignments of), along with two more conferences from FCS (which I did not list the alignments of). D1.3 contains the remaing FCS teams and conferences. Each divison has an 8 team playoff and a national champion, along with 10-15 bowls. D-1.1 72 teams SEC: 16 Mississippi State Ole Miss Alabama Auburn LSU Arkansas Missouri Texas A&M Tennessee Vanderbilt Kentucky Virginia Florida Georgia South Carolina NC State + NC State, Virginia - None B1G: 16 Illinois Indiana Iowa Purdue Nebraska Minnesota Wisconsin Northwestern Notre Dame Michigan Michigan State Ohio State Penn State Maryland Rutgers Virginia Tech + Virginia Tech, Notre Dame - None PAC 14: 14 Arizona Arizona State UCLA USC Utah BYU San Diego State California Stanford Oregon Oregon State Washington Colorado Washington State + BYU, San Diego State - None Big 12: 12 Iowa State Kansas Kansas State West Virginia Cincinnati Oklahoma State Oklahoma Baylor Texas Texas Tech TCU Houston + Houston, Cincinnati - None ACC: 14 Boston College Connecticut Syracuse Pittsburgh Louisville North Carolina Duke UCF USF Florida State Miami Clemson Georgia Tech Wake Forest + Connecticut, UCF, USF - NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech 8-team playoffs 5 Conference champions 3 at-large teams Rose, Sugar, Cotton, Peach, Orange, and Fiesta Bowls rotate as Quarterfinal and Semifinal games. --- D-1.2 88 teams American: 14 Temple East Carolina Tulsa Navy Army Marshall Bowling Green SMU Tulane Southern Miss Rice Louisiana UAB Memphis + Southern Miss, UAB, Rice, Louisiana, Marshall, Army, Bowling Green - Houston, Connecticut, Cincinnati, UCF, USF Conference USA: 14 UTEP North Texas Texas San Antonio LA Monroe Louisiana Tech Arkansas State South Alabama Charlotte Florida Atlantic Florida International Old Dominion Western Kentucky Troy UMass + UMass, Troy, South Alabama, Arkansas State, LA Monroe - Southern Miss, UAB, Rice, Marshall, Middle Tennessee State Mountain West: 14 Air Force Boise State Colorado State Wyoming Utah State Idaho North Dakota State UNLV New Mexico Fresno State Nevada Hawaii San Jose St. New Mexico State + North Dakota State, New Mexico State, Idaho - San Diego State MAC: 12 Central Michigan Eastern Michigan Western Michigan Buffalo Northern Illinois Toledo Middle Tennessee State Akron Kent State Miami OH Ohio Ball State + Middle Tennessee State - UMass, Bowling Green Sun Belt: 4+ Texas State Georgia State Georgia Southern Appalachian State + 8 to 12 FCS schools - South Alabama, Troy, Arkansas State, Louisiana, LA Monroe, New Mexico State, Idaho 30 more teams, 2 more conferences from FCS 8-team playoffs 5 Conference champions 3 at-large teams ----- D-1.3 Bottom 88 teams
  17. What's even more exciting is that they're gonna be my Brewers' AA affiliate! Seriously, how awesome does "Biloxi Brewers" sound?Local newspaper poll has Seabees as the top name. I like the Fighting SeaTurtles proposal myself. Basically the only thing official about the name is that it will include Biloxi. http://blog.gulflive.com/mississippi-press-sports/2014/01/seabees_fighting_seaturtles_wh.html It will be cool to have a second team in Mississippi. The venue in Pearl is very nice, and hopefully this one will be too.

  19. Anyone know the western-ish font on these jerseys?-
  20. I believe the Big 12 and the SEC have already set up the Sugar Bowl for a game like that.
  21. The SEC has lost members in the past. Swanee(now D-|||), Tulane, and Georgia Tech were once members.
  22. I agree with you, but citing the two worst logos from the set isn't helping your point.
  23. I actually really like the C-USA and Big East merger idea.
