  1. Hell, they had more in attendance than a few Marlin games. Hockey in the Sun Belt is a success! It only took the Marlins (and the entire South Florida region) to be Loria'd for the Panthers to have just enough people to surpass MLB in city-wide interest.
  2. More than likely, this is the number of tickets sold. I can only imagine the actual number of fans in attendance for the game. 500? Too high of a count there?
  3. Somehow, I'm compelled to think that Arizona fans will try to one-up this showing to reclaim the crown as the most pathetic fan-base in sports, while simultaneously thinking they're the greatest. One hell of a view! I mean, you can smoke weed, get hammered and get blown around the waistline, and the ushers won't give a damn because you're at a Florida Panthers game you'd be behind a huge, black curtain.
  4. Umm...does this guy really know what he got himself into? And who calls owning the Phoenix Arizona Coyotes a "dream?"
  5. The day the Super Bowl matchup is Tampa Bay and Jacksonville will be when *insert obligatory 'hell freezing over' or 'pigs flying' metaphor*. Anyway, this XLIX logo looks amazing and appropriate for the location of the game. But I feel as if for the shape of this XLIX logo, it's served best at the 50-yard-line with the two team's helmets at the 25/30, i.e. the Super Bowl field styles from 1997-2003.
  6. Wonderful! Though this XLV logo this is a somewhat-copycat design of XLIV, it's miles ahead of what the actual Super Bowl logo eventually was for this game. That logo would have looked magnificent as a patch on the Packers and Steelers. And funny; I have the exact same logo for XLIX to use. It could have been perfect for it being adapted to the Phoenix desert scape, rather than using the continuation of the soulless, corporate Super Bowl logos Emperor Goodell has reigned over.
  7. Hey man. Awesome job on these fields and I know how you feel about Photobucket (I can't update my signature since that website corrupts my images). Anyway, I've found over the last couple of years fan-made Super Bowl logos in response to the current, corporate logo system the NFL actually has. I have fan-made ones for Super Bowls 45, 48 and 49 (I had one of 46 but the flash drive containing it got corrupted and I never encountered a good 47 logo). Could you please superimpose this logo I found for SB XLV in place of the actual logo, just to see what could have been? Thanks!
  8. I take it that you haven't been a hockey fan for very long... The Blackhawks and Penguins had horrible attendance numbers before the lockout. ...as did the Bruins. I distinctly remember the Thrashers out-drawing the Blackhawks and Bruins in the few seasons leading up to the first lockout. Possibly the Penguins, too. Huh. Well there's your "Mind-blowing Fact of the Week." Thought of the 'Hawks as one of the lower-bin teams prior to the 2005-lockout because of the elder Wirtz. But the Bruins? Whaatt?
  9. Well, what extension are you using? I think gif, png, and jpg are usable but I don't know for the rest It's supposed to be png, but stupid Photobucket is corrupting the file name. I can't even backdoor an image through a URL insertion. EDIT: Nevermind. I'm going to use Flickr from now on. Stupid Photobucket.
  10. I'm getting issues trying to change my signature. I'm using Photobucket to store my images and resize them if needed. And I've resized my images to be within the 860 x 140 limit, but all it says is: "Error: You are not allowed to use that extension." Is it just me, or is everyone having problems updating their signatures?
  11. This quote is humorous. A lack of attendance (effect) is a symptom of the main problem, the NHL placing a franchise in a doomed market (cause). No matter how much the 'Hawks, Bruins or Pens suck (three teams this individual poster called out), fans will always come out because hockey is a well-established sport in those areas (not regarding the legacy of the franchises). It's pretty hard to get hockey going in a warm-climate city like Miami whose main sports focus is usually football. It's cute to get 5,000 Panthers fans, max, through the turnstiles to see a hockey game; it's bad business to see those fans fill only 1/4th of a standard, NHL arena, and have this repeated 41 times in a season.
  12. So apparently, Reebok tried to have the NBA prototype the "Edge" jerseys with that bottom striping before adopting that visual look to the NHL three years later.
  13. Once upon a time Looks like a Browns-Falcons game circa-1981.
  14. For further proof that hockey of any kind doesn't work in Arizona, the SunDogs are ending operations for 2014-2015 because of a lack of ticket revenue funds. http://arizonasundogs.com/news/headlines/index.html?article_id=2846
  15. So then what the hell was the point of the Red Wings moving to the Eastern Conference? They move to the East to cut down on travel costs, but then they move back to a conference where road games slated in California begin at 9:30-10:30pm Detroit local time. The hell?
  16. Nice observation, geniuses of Broward County. In other revelations, the sky is blue, the ocean is blue, the leafs are green, the blood is red, my piss is yellow, the traffic sucks, the tires are black and smoking is bad.
  17. 1st rule: You don't talk about the Majestic-XII. 2nd rule: You DON'T talk about the Majestic-XII. 3rd rule: If a board member says "STOP" or goes limp on an argument, the topic discussion is over. 4th rule: Primarily two board members to a topic, but more members are welcomed. 5th rule: One topic at a time. 6th rule: No shirt, no shoes (because no one else knows what you're (not) wearing during topic discussions). 7th rule: Board discussions will go on as long as they have to. 8th rule: If this is your first time with the Majestic-XII, you CAN fight them (but preferably not).
  18. What I find more fascinating is the huge gap between each letter of 'Epps.'
  19. Someone made a cute, little time-lapse video of every NHL franchise expansion/contraction/relocation in the league's history. http://deadspin.com/nhl-expansion-through-the-years-1612357557
  20. No. The Jets were purchased by investors from the Cities, who intended to move the team to Minneapolis but couldn't secure a lease at the Target Center. Bettman steered them to Phoenix, where they eventually sold the team to more Phoenix-based interests. As for the Whalers, Karmanos was interested in Auburn Hills most of all because he's a Detroit guy, and was so enthusiastic about Columbus over Hartford that he volunteered to play in an abandoned aircraft hangar while the city built him an arena. I don't remember Minnesota being involved.Didn't the Target Center have the same hockey-structured problems America West Arena in Phoenix had? Because I always though that the TC first-and-foremost was made for the NBA's Timberwolves (unlike most other NBA/NHL arenas where both sports were in consideration for their plans), with problems arising when a hockey game is played there.
  21. So the Panthers and Coyotes share a common problem. They had no problem selling out early on when the teams played within the downtown limits. But they've both been sent to hockey abyss when relocating towards their town's suburbs, either playing alongside the Everglades or Sonoran.
  22. Yeah, because there are plenty of Vegas residents who'd rather skip the world heavyweight championship boxing fight at the MGM Grand and attend a hockey game on a Saturday night.
  23. If I go to a random middle school and select a random number of students to come along with me for an "experiment," they would have more competence to run that city council than whoever is currently running it. Dead serious. Speaking of which, the state's Attorney General will now investigate this latest rub-a-rub for "possible" violations of Arizona's "open meeting law," which could void the 5-year Glendale lease extension. http://www.si.com/nhl/2014/07/22/open-meeting-violation-could-force-coyotes-to-leave-arizona
