  1. Red Sox fan: Blue Jays Celtics fan: None particularly bother me, but if I had to pick I'd say Raptors Patriots fan: Dolphins (Bills close second)
  2. I feel like the real issue with this concept is color balance. Seems like white and grey are fighting each other while red and blue are doing the same. There needs to be a clear pecking order
  3. I really like those black uniforms in a vacuum, but something feels off about them. I hope the Celtics wear them primarily on the road
  4. Girardi not returning to the Yankees seems reminiscent of Jim Harbaugh getting the boot from the 49ers and Tom Thibodeau from the Bulls. Clearly a great coach/manager, but shown the door almost certainly because of a clash of egos. I'd expect Girardi to get a slew of opportunities going forward, be it another managerial opening, a front office role, or even in TV. The Nationals opening seems like a pretty good one at least in the short run, but he may want a year off after a hectic 10-year run in New York.
  5. Other than the sleeves being a bit cluttered, Patriots concept is very clean and a logical fix to the issues with their current set
  6. I would love to see Steelers vs. Lions as a color vs. color match-up
  7. I'm good with red or blue numbers for the Giants on the road. I used to despise the red numbers (maybe associated with some bad memories), but I think what really bothers me is the red numbers combined with the grey pants. It makes each uniform element a different color and looks completely mismatched. Red numbers with white pants work, as would blue numbers with grey pants. Also, I love your treatment of the stripes. That Giants road uniform gives me an LA Dodgers home uniform feel, in the best possible way.
  8. Definitely. I would say if they went with those pants and kept the St. Louis gold horns and navy face mask, it would be a very strong look and a perfect transition from one uniform set to the next. Even when they'd have to wear navy jerseys it would look like a real uniform set. Also I like your treatment of the helmet with the gold face mask much more than what they're actually doing with the white mask. The horns get completely lost, at least with the gold it ties to the rest of the uniform and still lets the white horns stand out.
  9. Great looking concept, however the black pants look out of place
  10. Seems like John Farrell was a pretty convenient scapegoat for the Red Sox falling short this year. There was a huge crowd of fans calling for his head all season, but of course it's always easier to blame one individual than address the real issues on the roster. I'm not sure that Farrell was necessarily a great manager, but I know he wasn't a bad manager either. I feel like his firing doesn't really change anything. Curious to see what happens going forward.
  11. I like the idea of blue bill on the road and orange bill at home for Houston, if only for the fact that it would match the piping on the uniform. I don't mind them mixing and matching though, they seem to always look solid.
  12. The Red Sox magic number to clinch the division is 2, so if the Yankees win out, Boston would need a split in their 4 game set with Houston to clinch the East
  13. I love the New England Patriots name as well as Golden State Warriors, mostly because they are so unique. I hope they never change.
  14. Unpopular opinion, but I think that mid-70's C is just awful
  15. Oddly, the thing that bothers me the most about this uniform is the 3-D shadow with navy under the C logo. I much preferred the flat C, and thought it looked really slick on black. Between the navy on black and mismatched treatment between the logo and number, I'm not a fan. I'm starting to come around on the tire tread pattern though.
  16. Honestly can't believe how badly Portland botched their red jersey, that looks awful. Simply inverting the colors of their black jersey would have done the trick. I don't get the point of the Knicks jersey. It's alright in a vacuum, but it seems to me like a slightly crappier version of the standard white jersey. The Cavaliers black alternate is so bad, I'd venture to say it's an enormous downgrade from the black sleeved jersey they previously had, which of course was not very popular on here. The Jazz concept posted in this thread is miles better than what they went with. The Clippers new black alternate is a huge upgrade over last year's IMO. The red and blue on the old one got lost on the black, and all I saw from a distance was a white basketball outline over a number. While I think the red Sixers alternate is pretty cool, the modern look of the Nike logo and the Stubhub patch really seem to clash with the script for me. Also, I think they could have done without the drop shadow on this one.
  17. Damn, my take on this is any of the New England fans who were second-guessing Belichick and complaining about personnel moves are morons. I didn't hear any of this but it's always going to happen, I'm not surprised. At the same time, I'm not sure we should put so much stock in the facial expressions of the people in the stands. I certainly expected the game to turn out better for the Pats so I wasn't exactly ecstatic during it, but I never lost sight of how great being a Patriots fan is. After the last two Super Bowl victories especially, I don't even know what else I could ask for. I do wish the team and fans would stop being so petty with regards to Goodell and Deflategate. It's over. I don't care anymore. They won the Super Bowl! Once they went 3-1 without Tom Brady and he returned, I was over it. Acting like the victim despite a near-unprecedented run of success in pro sports is not a good look, so I cringe whenever I see it. Even putting 28-3 on the scoreboard before the game was a joke to me. I think Robert Kraft is a phenomenal owner, but if there's one criticism I have of him it's that he's petty and has played the "Boston is the victim" card. As far as how long the satisfaction of a championship lasts: For me personally, it's hard to be super invested when my team just won the title the previous year. I kind of feel like I got everything I could have possibly asked for and I can coast off of it for a while. Some of the hunger definitely comes back when I see another team crowned champion the next year. It kind of hits you that your team is no longer on top, and it hits even harder if they suffered a tough loss along the way.
  18. I'm fine with the Cavs using black but switching back and forth between black and navy bugs me. I'd ditch the black sleeved alternate and make the navy CAVS alternate black and call it a day. Keep the primary home, road, and the yellow CAVS alternate. Unfortunately any team LeBron is on needs to wear 12 different jerseys a year in order to maximize jersey sales.
  19. Only one game, Game 7. Draymond was suspended for Game 5 in Golden State and Game 6 was in Cleveland.
  20. Strickland is a hot-head, and has a history. Didn't he randomly melt down at Salvador Perez after he crossed home plate on a teammate's home run in the 2014 World Series? Buster Posey not moving a muscle and no Giants player speaking out in support of him should be telling signs. I'm normally not a huge Bryce Harper fan, but I have to support him 100% in this situation.
  21. You main point still holds true, but the Cavs sweep was 2 years ago, last year they lost in 6 to Atlanta
  22. As annoying as I find ESPN these days, I'd have to say they're wildly successful. They still hold an enormous share of the sports programming market and are one of the most instantly recognizable brand names, despite awful programming and questionable personnel decisions. If anything kind of drives the point home of how successful the network is
  23. They're the so-called number one seed, because they are the number one seed. It's a matter of fact, not a matter of opinion. Also I didn't realize the NBA switched to NFL format and became single elimination. Should the Celtics even bother showing up for the rest of the series, or just accept their fate now and fold the franchise?
  24. I'm not a Jays fan but I love this clip. Normally I'm not about showing up the pitcher and the opposing team, but if they throw behind you during a blowout and you go yard, all bets are off. Good for Bautista here.
