  1. Do you feel the same way about other sports? Now the MLB is the only league who has a uniform system where the home team wears white. It's not that I necessarily disagree with your thinking, but the opposite could be argued as well I think.
  2. Honestly, other than tradition, what's the big deal about these unconventional uniform match ups? Of course if the contrast between sets is too low then there is a problem, but I really haven't seen too much of that this season. Other than that, what exactly is wrong with teams wearing white on the road for example?

I feel that the myth of hockey only belonging in traditional cold-weather markets has been totally busted. So far the organization has been appearing to make all of the right decisions and the team has a lot of good buzz. We'll see if they can keep it going, but being the first major sport team in the city will definitely help IMO.

What exactly is so wrong with it? If the city supports the team why would it bother you so much?
  5. I think two is my favorite, I can see both elements in that one best.

That's a great looking matchup, I love the color contrast. Vegas' gold really pops on the ice and I think that white gloves turned out really nice.
  7. Perhaps the "Town" Warriors jerseys are an attempt to keep the Oakland fans from feeling alienated after the move? I doubt that the move across the bay will really change that many fans minds, but it's the only way I can make sense of it.
  8. This is seriously the coolest, makes me wish I had saved more of the drawings I made as a kid. The concept itself is really nice too, that color scheme is so amazing yet under used.
  9. I just called it belittling in that VikingsNotMinnesota's original post that started this whole discourse in the first place pointed out that aside from both teams sporting traditionally-styled uniforms, there was really nothing very visually exciting or even pleasing about that match up due to the near monochromatic color scheme. I think it's a more than valid point, but his post was met with people reducing what he said to strawmen almost immediately. Obviously nobody is perfect in this situation. I wasn't trying to split posters into two factions, I'd hope that people consider their tastes to be more complex than "all traditional" or "all modern". Taking it case by case is the only right way to do it IMO, and I am in total agreement with your last point.
  10. It's a definite upgrade, kudos to the team for properly doing a design-a-logo contest properly. To nitpick, I do think that it could be improved through some simplification in reducing the amount of shading and shrinking or removing the swan all together.
  11. This is obviously an oversimplification, but it's still definitely a sentiment that dominates this and many other threads. I'm not saying people have to change their sensibilities, but it would be nice if opinions that went against the norm for CCSLC weren't immediately belittled by more tenured posters. I mean, we're surely better than this right? Both of these posts make VikingsNotMinnesota's point for him.
  12. To reinforce the likelihood of seeing a lot of greek-inspired elements in this refresh, here's a new mascot(?) that the Titans debuted at yesterday's game: A lot of subtle flame elements are incorporated in the helmet and battle axe, and the axe itself is very reminiscent of a "T". The back cape features a flameless-thumbtack surrounded by the Greek pattern, which I believe may have been designed here actually. His reception was positive, although he wasn't given a ton to do. Once again, it likely means nothing as the designer said he had a week and a half to create the costume, but things have been moving this direction lately with the team.

The new font for the Blue Jackets is enough to make that set a great upgrade IMO, everything else is just a bonus.

One of the first looks at the Preds full set: I'm eager to see the aways now.
  15. I love this, truly the perfect marriage of eras. I'd be interested in seeing it with a silver outline as well.

I agree that some of the collars are definite downgrades, but how would a different collar have made this jersey any better? This is literally one of the least invasive collars of the new contract.
  17. If the Grizzlies' goal is to become the most forgettable team in the league, they are definitely succeeding. They've managed to take an already dull look and remove any small pieces of personality that it had.
  18. The new uniforms are a massive upgrade, the classic color scheme looks amazing and the uniform has modern touches in the right places. I like these more and more every time I see them.

I really like the new roads, the yoke goes a long way in adding some interest to the set. I'm glad that they made the choice of emphasizing yellow over navy, it results in a much bolder, better look and navy pants will balance it well. With how thin the stripes are on the new template, yellow wouldn't have had a strong presence at all and the result would've been incredibly plain.
  20. Thanks for the info, that makes sense. As I said in my post I do realize that they more than likely aren't indicators of any future changes, but my thinking was that they could possibly provide some insight into things the ownership may tell Nike. Some of the things aren't just trends seen in the aesthetics of the post, such as the recent push of the "two-tone blue" nickname I've been seeing in releases by the team along with the use of the sword, as seen in this article- http://www.espn.com/blog/tennessee-titans/post/_/id/19549/titans-owner-considering-uniform-changes-for-2018 As for the logo: Many fans call the primary logo the “flaming thumbtack” and have a strong preference for the secondary logo, a "T sword." “They like the sword? Interesting,” she said. “That’s interesting. It’s a thought. I’d like to hear what the fans are saying.” All that being said, I'm really just aimlessly speculating, we won't really know anything for a while it seems.
  21. I'm hopeful, which is probably a bad idea, but I can't really help myself. Everything that Strunk has done since taking over the team has been an improvement for the franchise so far, including going back to navy tops with white pants as the primary home combo. Hopefully we're more akin to Nike's Vikings then Nike's Browns. If I had to shoot in the dark based on what has been emphasized through social media/other outlets, I'd predict they stick to just the two shades of blue while incorporating a greek pattern motif somehow, as seen in the first photo. The second photo could give a possible clue as to a new number font, along with a new diamond-esque pattern they have been utilizing in all of their more recent posts. Ultimately these probably won't amount to anything, but it's all that we've got now. Unfortunately I've seen nothing indicating logo changes, but I could see the possibility of the sword logo being promoted due to its popularity with fans, and it's increased use as a prop for promo photos and pregame.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As far as the logo goes, I think it's alright. Not amazing, but definitely not bad either. My one big gripe is the font choice for the 2, maybe even using the jersey font would have looked better.
  23. These all have been awesome, but I really think that the Nets have been your best yet. That would seriously make an amazing primary for them right now, no changes needed IMO. I really hope you get to finish the whole league

Since the Preds leak I have been trying to convince myself all day that I like these new jerseys because they are at least free of piping or any other nonsense, but I just can't lie to myself anymore. Nashville downgraded so badly. I totally appreciate thought of cleaning up and alreadycsolid look, but they went too far. Our on ice uniforms now look like cheap fashion jerseys from Walmart, and I am afraid that the aways will look even worse.
  25. That interlocking DP logo looks really awesome, but I wish that the P was positioned below the D because currently I read it as "Pistons, Detroit" rather than "Detroit Pistons".
