  1. I really wish the home set was the template the rest of the uniforms followed, with the horn helmet as the primary option.

As they are, they’re decent-to-cringeworthy. The H-town set looks ridiculous, while the all-red is a miss. Their primary set is adequate.

Ultimately, I’d say the Lions won this year of tweaking. The Jets are in second, Broncos in third, and Texans leading up the rear. For however iffy the Broncos’ uniforms are, they don’t have an “H-town”-level turd in their set.

How appropriate that today is Jack Nicholson's 87th Birthday..

    Happy Birthday, Jack!

On another note, how would a medium royal blue have worked for the Broncos (e.g., Giants and Bills)? I think it would've been a nice balance and fit the color scheme a lot more than the starker navy or the "soft" light royal.

I'm still devastated that they didn't use my concept, at least for a mascot:

It would be funny to give Slider a spider buddy that looked like a muppet version of the above design.

I’m good with the Guardians name and the team’s safe rebrand, but I just wish they went back to the ‘90s color balance (minus the added white outlines/double outlines).

Oh, this advice never works out for anyone.

That reminds me, I still need to watch Zoo. I did watch a Justin Whang video on that topic, so I guess it counts?

Also, I really don’t care about the non-contrasting socks at all. Contrast would look better, but I don’t think it screws up a look at all. Or at least, to the same level as most people here.

  5. They’re fine. Not offensively bad or anything, just very meh. The helmet stripe stinks, but I can live with that. It’s a real 6/10.

They're probably only gonna last as long as the minimal requirement, before the Broncos try something else that may or may not be better/a straight-up throwback.

so yes I will say the experiment is over and I sincerely hope the next iteration of the Coyotes are supported. But looking at who still has the history and rights to the name we know that won’t happen

My issue is that reviving the Coyotes brand, which was so thoroughly tainted by (read the last 512 pages of this thread), would be a bad idea. Start anew with a decent name and throw in the Coyotes kachina throwbacks later.

The polygamist Mormons actually live in far northern Arizona.

The YFZ Ranch was in Texas, IIRC.

What sort of jobs do the Warren Jeffs people have? I know most Utah Mormons just grind away as financial planners and accountants and stuff, but how do you afford building a giant house for your six wives in remote Arizona?

Make shoddy parts for the space shuttle? I bet you didn't know the connection between the FLDS and the Challenger tragedy.

  8. Overall, it’s a big improvement and I’m glad the team dumped overly-gimmicked number fonts. I wish the silver pants were the only option, but I can live with all the variation. The blue facemask in particular really “makes” the helmet, if that makes sense. The black jersey isn’t exactly my taste, but it’s competently done.

Now to watch Houston and Denver stink up the joint.

  9. Yeah, this feels like owners covering for the awfulness of Fanatics, especially since next season will be the first under Fanatics.

We’ve exited the Modern Talking phase (Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes) and are now entering the Blue System phase (Utah ____ and their shenanigans). If you get this reference, congrats, you’ve wasted as much time in mediocre synth pop music as I have.

They’re definitely one of those teams that have been coasting of the success of a single championship from more than 20 years ago, but they forgot the whole part about actually winning a championship.

I'd say they're coasting on being created out of the ashes of the Minnesota North Stars and Cleveland Barons' unholy fusion. It's gonna be hilarious to see how badly they overestimate their importance to the market.

  11. It was a good run and I'm legally not allowed to complain about the Warriors for at least a decade. But still, it's clear that the rebuilding has to begin.

Four titles in 6 years is about as good as it gets.

And knowing the Warriors, they'll somehow land Giannis or Donovan Mitchell or both and start it all over again.

I doubt it, but Steph and a new partner could maybe make it work. Big maybe. It's clear that Draymond is still a liability and Klay should probably have not bet on himself, while Bob Myers leaving probably sealed the fate of this era of the team. Let the rebuild begin.

The most amazing part of the John Chayka saga was that he was like "whatever you do, don't draft Mitch Miller, he stuffed urinal cakes in a disabled kid's mouth," then quit the team, then the team was so mad at him that they drafted Mitch Miller out of spite and everyone got really mad at them.

If only teams had that energy towards convicted sex pest Billy Tibbetts back in the day.
