he went out of his way to make his departure from Toronto as messy as possible and it's just not the kind of behavior that should be rewarded. Maybe if he had returned to Toronto later in his career, it would make more sense.

Eh, it’s water under the bridge at this point and it seems many of the fans have forgiven him. Holding a grudge against a player for more than 20 years isn’t healthy. If Pittsburgh can honor Jagr, I don’t see why the Raptors shouldn’t eventually honor Carter.

I mean, I don’t think so. They just brought in CRAZY potential upside for almost nothing with both of their new QBs. Either this pays off handsomely for them, or it doesn’t but they took so little risk that it doesn’t much matter.

    Goddam Steelers. Every time.

I'm inclined to agree. At worst, this is a stopgap until they can draft their next QB (who could come because of how bad Wilson and Fields can get). At best, these are two guys who can keep the Tomlin dream alive for another year or more.

Maybe Russ and Fields together will be beneficial for both of them, especially considering the awful situations both guys left.

That Jaguar logo change still baffles me as being such an unnecessary downgrade.  The new one is just an overly beveled wordmark away from being a typical early 2010s Phoenix Design Works low major D-I college look.

The original logo had a lot more character, but it also had the laughable broken jaw. All one would have to do is correct the jaw on the original.

Doubt it, but I doubt the Sharks ever looked into it, either. It would have been pretty cool, though.

Yeah, SF Sharks would’ve been good, but the Warriors’ ownership has never really wanted to foster a relationship with the Sharks. There was no partnership to build the SJ arena (when Oracle MK I was showing its age) and no invite into the SF arena (when the Sharks wanted to stupidly flee a serviceable arena). The Sharks are just a stupid organization for not approaching the Warriors, even if the Warriors would turn them down nine times out of ten. At worst, you’re renting the stadium with Sparky the SUV’s cousin occupying the dead space.

So too would have been a new 49ers stadium at Candlestick, a new Raiders stadium in LA, and the A's, I dunno, still in Kansas City

Fixes inserted - the Bay Area is fundamentally not a “multiple teams per sport” market, no matter how much the demographics support it.

Would it be too derivative to do something like the Colorado Rapids and change the current denim blue to a sky blue? Would provide much better contrast at least.

Burgundy and sky blue would be the single-most obvious solution and would've been a far better initial color scheme.

Everything else is just "we actually have a surprisingly good light rail system." That goes for Atlanta, St. Louis, Dallas, Minneapolis, Denver, Miami, Seattle, apparently now Milwaukee for some reason, and yes, Salt Lake City.

That is very correct. It’s excellent at connecting the further reaches of suburbs to lower downtown (be it the big EMU’s or the smaller EMU’s - which I use mostly), but the actual transit system within the central part of the city is lackluster. The whole system is electrified and uses no EMD F40PH engines, which is pretty neat.

I should have some nostalgic attachment to the F40PH’s (as I grew up with Caltrain), but I really don’t.

49ers - This will make both fanbases spontaneously combust but why the :censored: not at this point? I’m STILL just not sold on Brock Purdy, and if Wilson has ANYTHING left in the tank, why not get it in the one spot I think he might be willing to actually be a backup? It’s the best chance at success for both sides. Wilson gets an absolutely insane offense to work with (strong running back too, that’s key), and the Niners have a backup plan that’s not just pulling the parking attendant out of the lot to suit up. Lowest risk, highest reward imo.  Also, funny!

Seahawks - I just cannot tell you how goddamn funny it would be to see him go back to Seattle while taking Denver’s money. It’s probably the one place where the circus would have a less hostile vibe, and it might end up being Wilson’s only shot at being on a roster next season. Would be sad in the funniest way possible, but that’s basically the definition of “Danger”Russ(🙄), so you never know.

Those would be the two best sports for Wilson, with contenders and in an explicit backup role. It'd also be funny in both places, crawling back to his old team or his old division rival.

I think Russ will sit out a year, though not by choice. Russ still thinks he can be a starter (see the Broncos' win streak last year and his red zone stats), but it'll take a long time away for him to think otherwise.

Broncos to cut Wilson, will take 85 million cap hit over the next two seasons.

It really goes to show how isolated the Seattle sports media is from the rest of the country. If Russ came from anywhere else, his red flags would've been far more prominent in discussion at the onset. However, he won a Super Bowl and went to another (as well as a bunch of playoff appearances), so Seattle fans were the only ones who knew the truth about his play and his issues. Seattle fans being happy to part ways with him should've been a much larger red flag.

If Philadelphia were to have a symbol, what do you think it should be?

I would say the giant William Penn statue, but that's a bit too esoteric. Independence Hall or City Hall (with the Penn statue)?

If the NBA Playoffs started today, the Lakers would be in the Play-In Tournament like they were last year, and the Warriors would not be in it.  I don't know if this is the start of a Patriots like downfall for the Warriors.

The Patriots-level cliff dive isn’t here yet, if only because they still have some big star power. Klay will probably re-sign, albeit for less than he asked for and Draymond will hopefully exit before he goes full Akira Maeda and makes the franchise more liable for BS.

If the Warriors mess up their draft and their offseason by getting older and more injured, then the Pats-level cliff is coming fast. Kerr retiring might be a good call too.
