  1. ECU applied, they weren't invited and I don't believe they've been accepted.
  2. Why would they invite TCU who is already joining the seemingly stable for now Big East? From my understanding, TCU wants out of the Big East now. I'm just hearing it from someone who's in with the Big XII, it could be wishful thinking, I dunno.
  3. Talks about saving the Big 12 are under way. From what I hear A&M (obviously) and Missouri are out. SMU, Houston, TCU, and BYU are reportedly getting invited in.
  4. They did the same thing with Texas A&M. Once again, they don't want to seem like the aggressor in all of this.
  5. Mizzou was begging, but there's a reason why the Big 10 didn't take them and I assume that reason will still stand. From my understanding, the Big 10 isn't looking to expand west anymore, but rather they're looking towards the east. That can all change when everything starts falling, but they want the bigger markets out in the east. How exactly is Mizzou a better fit with Nebraska? Because you have to drive through Missouri to get into the southeast corner of Nebraska? And how does that give them a backdoor agreement to get into the Big 10?
  6. Does K-State have the academics to go to the Big 10?
  7. The Big East? TLN isn't part of basic cable, is it? If not, it'll probably end up like The Mtn. - unwatched and irrelevant, and more trouble than it's worth. Hopefully, for the sake of college athletics as a whole, Texas cuts its losses sooner rather than later. This denial should have been a wakeup call for Texas then.
  8. If I'm Oklahoma, I'm still looking for a divorce from Texas. It's pretty clear Texas isn't getting rid of their network and because of that, Oklahoma got denied their move. I don't want to see college football change so drastically, but I think it would be in Oklahoma's best interest to find a new home that isn't shared with the Longhorns.
  9. If the PAC is not expanding and OU is genuine about staying in the Big 12 with conditions to be met and the Big East is going to solder on minus Pitt/Syracuse + 2 new members...does this mean that conference armageddon has largely been averted? I have a feeling conference armageddon has just been postponed. The ACC has added two teams with still possibly more, the SEC is still looking for a 14th, and we're not sure if Oklahoma's conditions will be met. If anything, OU and OK State could jump to the Big 10 now.
  10. From the same person who kept me informed on Texas A&M situation. Missouri is expected to go to the SEC West with Auburn moving to the east.
  11. Where is this information coming from? I don't see what the SEC does with their TV deal necessarily impacting the terms of the Big East's TV deal. Whatever the Big East's tv deal is, it involves all current members of the Big East. The deal involves Syracuse and Pittsburgh. Why would they keep the same TV deal with those two teams gone? They'd be paying for two markets that they're no longer in. When the contract was signed, Syracuse and Pitt were part of the deal, when they leave, that contract doesn't add up anymore. Why would they continue to pay the same amount of money with renegotiating a contract?
  12. I could see the TV contract actually possibly being a reason they let deserters leave earlier. Contract size remains the same, number of pie slices decreases. It may only be for 1 or 2 years but it's more money per school at least for the short term. It's my understanding that if teams leave, then the current contract becomes null and a new one's worked out. When the SEC was talking about originally expanding, the talk was their TV deal would be increased because they'd have more teams. I imagine it would be the same way if you lost teams as well.
  13. Have you completely ignored all of my posts? He's just trying to stir up trouble.
  14. I've been to both universities and I think UCF has a little more eye candy. But, then again, when you have over 28,000 females at a school, there's bound to be some lookers.
  15. Ignore it, I know it's hard to do, but don't feed it. And it seems like the PAC couldn't let Texas go somewhere else, no matter what they'll still get money from them anyways.
  16. The ACC buyout price prevents them from leaving. It's going to be UConn and UCF going to the ACC. UConn goes for obvious reasons. UCF goes because I think the SEC wakes up, and adds WVU, A&M, Louisville, and USF. They'll try to go after USF, but when the SEC offers, the jump. So they turn to the next best option. UCF is the largest university in Florida, and very rich. If they do join, they'll probably expand their stadium to around 60,000 (which I believe is already planned). If they join the ACC, they're competitive enough in the major sports to make the jump. Sounds good enough to me. I didn't even think of USF to the SEC and UCF to the ACC makes a lot of sense.
  17. I still say they go after Missouri, WVU, and Virginia Tech. My reasoning for Virginia Tech is now with the additions to the ACC, basketball wise, V-Tech loses a lot in the conference. Atleast if they join the SEC, the competition isn't as tough.
  18. Now the SEC has to get off their rearends and start adding teams.
  19. That's actually what the article talks about. He was preaching conference unity for the last few weeks and telling the other Big East teams they had to stick together, and well, now look what happens. We've been talking for the last few weeks how the Big XII was on the verge of destruction and in the matter of two days, I think we've seen the fatal shot to the Big East in football. The conference is now down to 6 teams and unless they raid one of the mid-majors or take the scraps of the Big XII, I think it's likely by the end of next week, two BCS conferences will cease to exist. FYP I'm including TCU. Not for long. In that case then we should just change it to 0.

  22. Just read it on the bottom crawl, they've been accepted. Can't find a link, but it said BREAKING NEWS while I was watching the Stanford-Arizona game that they'v been voted in. I stand corrected. I fished around a bit to try and find a good source on it because I don't like calling some one else out Apparently, they voted Saturday morning and they're announcing it Sunday at 9:30 am ET in a press conference. ACC has approved addition of Pittsburgh, Syracuse Pretty much, teams leaving the Big East have to give a 27 month notice, so I guess this doesn't go into affect until 2013? I did not see this coming, atleast not this fast, but I can understand the ACC's move here. No use sitting on your hands while everyone else is bickering over what's going on. Completely out of left field though.
  23. It's official that they've applied, not official that they're apart of the ACC yet. In about 18 hours though, that'll be a different story, assuming no one in the Big East pulls a Baylor.
  24. Why wouldn't Boise State be part of the four super conferences?
  25. In case anyone's surprised: Oklahoma to Apply to Pac-12 Ok State to follow suit. Good night Big XII.
