  1. Tickets for the Islanders-Devils exhibition game went on sale today - here's the seating map on the ticket page: I still can't believe they built an arena in New York City metro too small to accommodate every type of event that utilizes arenas. I don't just mean hockey either. Now you have fewer seats for concerts, you don't have room for motocross or monster trucks or the circus. Not that monster trucks are a big draw in New York, but why not leave open the possibility? It seems so stupidly shortsighted. I just looked up the arena on Wikipedia and concerts seat 19 000
  2. Here's a good plan for the Isles: Thay should tear down Nassau and then build a new arena on the site of the old one. Then, the Isles can play in Brooklyn for the 2-3 years it takes to build the new arena.
  3. Here's how the NHL should realign: Eastern Conference Atlantic Division Bruins, Rangers, Isles, Devils, Caps, Canes, Panthers, Bolts Northeast Division Leafs, Sens, Habs, Nords (Coyotes), Sabres, Pens, Flyers, Blue Jackets Western Confernce Central Division Jets, Wild, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Blues, Preds, Stars, Kansas City (expansion) West Division Oilers, Flames, Canucks, Avs, Kings, Ducks, Sharks, Seattle (expansion)
  4. Got a good example of this seller's "tactics" I emailed them about this jersey: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PATRICK-KANE-LONDON-KNIGHTS-REEBOK-JERSEY-BLACKHAWKS-/270925534739?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&var=&hash=item3f146b9613 They have some London Knights jerseys available, all of which look a little "off" when it comes to the name/numbers. For starters, Pat Kane never wore that jersey in London, and second of all, the coloring is way off. People do like getting older players on new jerseys, but usually do it through the Knights team shop. Their email response was that they do all lettering in house. So im assuming they cut their own tackle twill numbers and letters to the best of their ability, and sew them on. Here is some others that are a little off http://www.ebay.com/itm/JOHN-TAVARES-LONDON-KNIGHTS-RBK-JERSEY-ISLANDERS-/270925526667?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&var=&hash=item3f146b768b if you look closely, the 6 just looks like a photoshopped upside down 9. Again, the 9 / 6 is off... the hole in the number is too small. http://www.ebay.com/itm/COREY-PERRY-LONDON-KNIGHTS-RBK-JERSEY-DUCKS-/270925525794?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&var=&hash=item3f146b7322 Just thought id throw in another example considering its the same seller. Here's more from this seller. http://www.ebay.com/itm/JONATHAN-TOEWS-NORTH-DAKOTA-JERSEY-CHICAGO-BLACKHAWKS-/260954414125?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item3cc2185c2d#ht_4428wt_1037 The numbers are a dead giveaway, they are supposed to have a dropshadow, not a regular outline.
  5. Geez, I'm so tired of the Coyotes situation. It's obvious to everyone but the NHL that Phoenix can't support a hockey team. They are on life support and it's time to pull the plug on them. [/mini rant]
  6. AMEN to that It was bad enough that the Coyotes didn't leave after last year.
  7. And yet, a year ago, they let a team from the 8th largest media market in the US leave for a small prairie city in Canada. A move that proved to be very profitable. Not only does it prove that the NHL doesn't need to try to fit round pegs into square holes in southern American markets to increase revenue, but it also proves that regardless of what the NHL wants they're still bound by the realities of the situation. Trading Atlanta for Winnipeg may not have been something the NHL wanted to do, but it's what they did because they didn't have a choice. Given that the move back to Winnipeg worked out, I'm sure the NHL will be less resistant to returning to Quebec City once it becomes clear that it's the only viable option for the Coyotes. Maybe the Coyotes will go to Seattle. They, like Quebec City, have plans for a new arena in the near future.
  8. But with that format the league could potentially expand to 32 teams.
  9. I'm not crazy about turning the AL and NL into East and West. Why fix something that isn't broken?
  10. I'm a fan of the orange too. I don't get the hate for it.
  11. I just noticed how much the Columbus Blue Jackets # font looks like copperplate. I created a sample photo to show you guys: Blue Jackets is on the top, copperplate is on the bottom.
  12. I like the 1912 Canadiens barberpole jersey. Nothing says old school like barberpole.
  13. That's the one Jacob Barette designed. I'd consider getting one of those if I know I could trust that site.
  14. If it weren't for the front numbers I would agree wholeheartedly. Can't understand why they used that generic black alter in the playoffs last year. I hate their alt. It's just so drab and boring.
  15. I'll use NFL as an example beacuse that where it seems to be bad: I think knockoffs are populare because people are pissed off with Reebok. Reebok charges $80 for a jersey where the logos, numbers, and stripes are screen printed. You could also get an authentic jersey for $250. Then, there are the Chinese made jerseys which are meant to be the equivalent to an authentic. They may be knockoff, but for the most part it looks accurate and everything is nicely embroidered and go for $20-60. Which would you buy? Not to mention there's rumors of Nike upping the prices on NFL replicas when they take over for Reebok in April. Over $100 for a replica is bullsheet. If the logos numbers and striping are embroidered, I would be okay with that price.

  17. The Ravens 04-07 alt was monochrome black. On the ice, the Oilers home uniform was meant to be all navy with no other color. Hence, the half striped sleeves and minimal piping.
  18. I agree that navy and copper look better than their blue and orange, but the red really threw it off. I don't know why a lot of teams in the 90s felt the need to add red. Not to mention that the Edge redesign royally FUBAR'd this entire design. Yeah. Reebok really :censored:ed the Oilers. They made a decent, cool uniform look like complete trash. The worst thing is that the Red Deer Rebels currently wear the exact same template. Yes, that is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
  19. I'm looking at the Canadiens jerseys from that era on nhluniforms.com and the name font seems to match up.
  20. Looking at these piss poor knockoffs makes me want to set them on fire.
  21. I don't mind the black Islanders third. I think it looks interesting. I'm not crazy about the basketball style front though.
  22. Why do they even bother making knockoffs of fashion jerseys?
  23. Will the hockey templates be posted anytime soon? I have been waiting since the summer when all the new jerseys were released.
