  1. A true merger is, but not one in which the CHL is simply a division that gets a couple seats at the ECHL playoff table.Yeah, if it were to happen this year, the CHL teams would just become their own division and then realign in the offseason to coincide with the AHL Western division switcheroo.
  2. I feel that Rapid City would be best fit for juniors. They're kinda just a lame duck in the minors with no team really being a good fit for an affiliation, even for AA. Besides, they could make a decent in-state rivalry with Sioux Falls in the USHL.
  3. I decided to try my hand at fixing the minor leagues in hockey. I decided to bring back the old IHL, who will have the affiliates of the NHL's Western Conference teams while the AHL will have the Eastern Conference's affiliates. This alleviates most of the long distances that teams have from their affiliates, especially for teams in the Western Conference. Note, this realignment includes a 32 team NHL with the Seattle Metros and Quebec Nordiques as expansion franchises. AHL Atlantic Division St. John’s Ice Caps (Quebec Nordiques) Fredericton Canadiens (Montreal Canadiens) Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins) Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers) Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders) Albany Devils (New Jersey Devils) Syracuse Crunch (Ottawa Senators) Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) Central Division Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins) Hershey Bears (Philadelphia Flyers) Hamilton Dukes (Toronto Maple Leafs) Cleveland Barons (Columbus Blue Jackets) Norfolk Admirals (Washington Capitals) Charlotte Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes) Orlando Solar Bears (Tampa Bay Lightning) Florida Everblades (Florida Panthers) IHL Midwest Division Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit Red Wings) Fort Wayne Komets (Nashville Predators) Chicago Wolves (Chicago Blackhawks) Milwaukee Admirals (Winnipeg Jets) Iowa Wild (Minnesota Wild) Kansas City Blues (St. Louis Blues) Tulsa Oilers (Edmonton Oilers) Texas Stars (Dallas Stars) West Division Alaska Aces (Seattle Metros) Abbotsford Canucks (Vancouver Canucks) Saskatoon Blades (Calgary Flames) Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche) Utah Grizzlies (Phoenix Coyotes) Stockton Thunder (San Jose Sharks) Ontario Reign (Los Angeles Kings) San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks) It's not perfect, but it makes more sense than what they have now.
  4. Aren't they merging with the ECHL next year? I mean, the 2 teams they'll have left?
  5. Hello LMU, crashcarson, and myself are the new mods. Hey, what about admiral?
  6. I agree. The only thing I'd change is to make the helmet grey and to wear the grey pants more often. Other than that, it's a nice, modern look that isn't too over the top.
  7. That's pretty much what I thought when the Warriors announced their intentions to build a new arena, way back in 2012. We might even see a rebrand (no way that they keep the San Jose name if they permanently move to SF, unlike their temporary stay in the Cow Palace), which would be welcome in my book. I'm attached to the Sharks' name and general logo/colour scheme. San Francisco Sharks works.I'm fine too with the Sharks moving to San Francisco and keeping their identity intact. Though they should start working with the Warriors soon to get the arena to fit a hockey rink, so we don't have another Islanders-Barclays Center fiasco.
  8. It seems like I get logged out every time I click on the lounge subforum when in phone. Anyone else have that issue?
  9. I've tried to wear high socks off and on throughout my baseball career, but I keep going back to the baggy pants every time. It's just way more comfortable.
  10. Reebok makes legit versions too. I remember seeing them at the Blackhawks team store when I went to Chicago a few years back.
  11. Why not get some coffee and an order of TimBits Timbits which comes with two free tickets?Damn Americans
  12. I remember it looking a bit different. You also recieve an email if you actually are suspended.
  13. Um, Africa is a very large place with many different climates.South Africa, due to a combination of ocean wind currents and elevation, is actually rather mild. Rare to spend much time above 90 degrees F. But that's in the summer. The World Cup was held in June, which is the Southern Hemisphere's winter. So this was the average temperature in the various host cities: Wasn't it winter during the actual tournament?Did you not even read the post that you quoted?
  14. Could work, but that would mean a shortened offseason, which I doubt players would be in favor of.
  15. Or they could just have it at MetLife Stadium. I figure all of the games would be played in NFL or college stadiums.
  16. You have to have made 2 or 3 posts before you are able to start threads.
  17. When will the new NHL, AHL, and CHL templates be posted?
  18. If I lived in Florida, I'd be all over that. I know the Panthers suck, but you sure as hell can't beat deal like that.
  19. I don't think that's really an unpopular opinion. I like them too, but my beef with them is the color balance. If they wore the grey pants (with green feathers in the stripe) as the main option as well as switch to a grey helmet, they would look perfect.
  20. I want to get a replica ring and was wondering where is the best place online to get one?
  21. The Atlantic Cities wrote a great story on the MLB and Buffalo last July. As both Coca-Cola Park, along with the Colorado Springs stadium opened in 1988, they are now tied for being the fifth oldest park(s) in AAA baseball. That's kinda scary; I didn't realize parks had sprung up like that for minor league teams. While looking at stadium ages, I discovered that Buffalo's is also the biggest stadium in AAA with a lead over the next ballpark of almost 20%. That was a really cool article for a Buffalonian like me who only knew whispers of that whole deal. It's a good place to watch a game. My only complaint is that the outfield looks out onto a tangled mess of highway, on- and off-ramps, and ugly property... if the stadium were rotated 180 degrees, it would look out right into the heart of the city. Looking towards the outfield: And compare that to the view behind home plate: I love Coca Cola Field too, but I agree the outfield view kinda sucks. Home plate facing the city would be 100x better.
  22. A second team in Toronto was never going to work, anyways. If Toronto were to have a second team, you'd have an NHL version of the Clippers. Toronto isn't a hockey market, it's a Leafs market.
  23. I like the Twins' current road uni better because I was never really a fan if that script, but I really liked road pinstripes. However, I just don't see them making a comeback anytime soon.Put the current road script on that jersey and you've got a winner.
  24. I always thought it would make more sense to put Baltimore in the AFC South and the Colts in the North. And as odd as it is to have the Cowboys in the NFC East, they have too much history there. They have been there with the Giants, Eagles, and Redskins (and Cardinals) since the merger. There will be an apocalypse before that changes.
