  1. I think the league has said the rate of concussions on kickoffs is 2x any other play. I imagine non-head injuries are more common as well. I’m good with this change, as long as onside kicks never become 4th and whatever where you run an actual play.
  2. Yeah, four whole years with two first round losses to 14+ seeds and a missed tourney at a school with resources 95% of coaches would kill for. It’s clear that stacking up high school talent that doesn’t stick around to develop isn’t a viable strategy in the portal/NIL era and he’s still expressing a reluctance to change that. He doesn’t have the actual coaching chops to be successful now that the talent/skill gap has closed.
  3. All that recruiting and he still hasn’t made it out of the first weekend in four years.
  4. This guy took under bets and then left the game early with injuries or illness. He’s :censored:ed.
  5. Not sure he will turn out in the NBA. He’s slow, not particularly athletic (relative to the NBA), and his entire game is within, like, five feet of the basket. He’ll get abused in the pick and roll. There’s not much place for someone like him in the modern NBA.
  6. Easy to forget Kansas was the preseason #1 with the way they’re playing. This is about as thorough of a dismantling as you’ll see.
  7. Can’t even wrap my head around that stat line. Refs just bailed Kansas out.
  8. Down goes Kentucky! I wonder if Coach Cal gets fired.
  9. Kentucky’s on upset watch! Down 6 to Oakland with 3:17 left.
  10. Well, Shohei’s own team initially said he wired the money. I wonder if his team rushed to put that out to disconnect him from any actual gambling and then the lawyers got involved because they recognize how bad this guy writing $4m to an illegal bookie looks whether he gambled or not. Oh, and the reason they say the story changed is because they were still using this guy to do the translating. I don’t know, this just seems like a super :censored:ty cover-up even if the guy didn’t do anything that wrong (well, wiring the money might be a felony, no?).
  11. This has the potential to turn into a pretty big story. Ohtani’s team initially said he transferred the money to cover the the translator’s gambling debt. Now Ohtani had no knowledge of it. Biggest star in baseball might’ve wired an illegal bookie millions.
  12. UConn got kind of screwed with this bracket. Easily the hardest path for any of the #1’s.
  13. That race was a s*** show but kind of fun watching Hamlin and Truex navigate the lapped cars knowing they were all ticking time bombs.
  14. UConn playing in MSG just feels right. Their spell in the AAC was unfortunate and I’m happy it’s been corrected. Maybe Syracuse can return when the SEC and Big Ten decide to blow everything up.
  15. I think Minnesota should at least consider trading Jefferson but that isn’t fair value for him. Jefferson’s trade value is at least two firsts, I’d think. Giving up Jefferson and a first to move up ten spots? Hard pass.
  16. Henry to BAL is such a perfect fit
  17. Well, that’s a bummer that he’s taking this season off… that’s a big loss for NBC. Him and Bestwick would be a good pairing. Amazon should make that happen.
  18. *shrug* I like love this configuration/package for Atlanta. My only complaint is that I wouldn’t have it right after Daytona. It’s been a fun race so far. The kind that I don’t feel like an idiot for watching every lap of. edit: what a race!
  19. What’s the deal with Austin Hill? Haven’t followed closely the last few years but a lot of people seem to dislike him winning.
  20. I like Harvick but Bowyer needs to go. I prefer the way NBC does it with a former driver and former crew chief. Just don’t really see the point of having two drivers. But would really just prefer not having races on FOX at all. I enjoyed the race and it’s still a must-watch for me every year but the 500 is losing its luster a bit and FOX is a big part of it.
  21. Nobody has proven they don’t deserve CFP consideration over a team with a comparable résumé like Notre Dame has.
  22. There was 2020 (or 2021?) where they got curb-stomped in the ACC Championship game by Clemson and got in over a more deserving Texas A&M team. So yeah, the bias towards ND was strong enough to somehow get two ACC teams in despite consistently being a weak conference.
  23. First off, yeah, lol @ Bradshaw. Second, It’s comparing a guy’s first seven years with other guys entire careers. It’s insane. I mean, I guess people can use whatever criteria they want for GOAT conversations and Mahomes does need a bit more longevity, imo, but his resume through his first seven years is unmatched and, frankly, nobody is all that close. He’s well on his way.
