  1. I'm surprised by that YPC. Thought it was higher. I guess the Chiefs defensive line was really hit or miss and the run plays were either a an easy five-or-so yards or stonewalled at the LOS; no in between. With any other RB, I can see the argument, maybe. But McCaffrey's role in the pass game makes him so dangerous, it's not like you're just not utilizing him on non-run plays. Shanahan's only fault, imo, was taking the ball first in OT. And even then, there's at least a case for it (D needing rest, plus if the Chiefs tie it, you get first crack at second possession). Still didn't like it, though.
  2. It definitely wasn't 12 straight. The first possession they got behind the chains after a penalty. The second they ran a pass out to the flat to McCaffrey that was effectively a run. And then the third possession, the first play was a CMC run that went nowhere. So it was six plays without a run and one of them was effectively a run play.
  3. Brutal loss. Felt like they could’ve ran away with it in the first. All three of KC’s recent Super Bowls, they’ve trailed by 10. Went from being an all-time boring Super Bowl to a great one.
  4. Up seven with KC getting the ball first has to be a bit disappointing for SF with the way they dominated the half.
  5. I wish McLaren stuck with their 2019 look. Although 2020 and 2021 were nice too. Since then (above), they’ve been a mess. Ultimately the margins are so razor thin that if these teams can cut the weight there and apply it more strategically, they will (clearly). Even Red Bull has a lot of bare carbon fiber, but the dark blue hides it better. It just sucks. They really need to mandate paint covering certain parts of the body. Also, not terribly surprising but I saw a video of Verstappen streaming his simulator racing where he said the Red Bull will look the same as it has.
  6. The Duracell sponsorship is pretty clever. I don’t dislike the livery as a whole but it doesn’t do much for me. I preferred last year’s, I think.
  7. On one hand, they’d have lost in the first round if Campbell wasn’t aggressive on fourth down calls and people only remember the times it backfires. That said, those decisions really bit them in the ass tonight. But the dumbest decision, imo, was running on that third down and wasting a timeout.
  8. What awful names. I wish they’d mandate paint on certain areas of the car (like everything but the floor and some smaller areas). The entire grid being half exposed carbon fiber liveries got old quick. Also, unrelated to this specific topic, but I wish they’d knock it off with the street circuits.
  9. He’s some hack, dart-throwing gambler/engagement farmer on Twitter. Kind of unrelated to the faux outrage he’s always peddling, but I remember LeBatard making fun of him for going 1-15 on his picks one week.
  10. This is such a nothing story. Warren Sharp is a joke. Teams with a better record are 11-3 in games this guy officiated. He's averaged a whopping .7 more penalties called on home teams in games he's officiated this season. That's not swaying anything. Shame on anyone that believes the NFL has an official they call in when they need the road team to win and shame on you for spreading Warren Sharp's nonsense.
  11. What’s interesting is the Lions took over with 1:30 left or so, which is enough to run the clock down whether TB took their timeout or not. They snapped the ball in a way that TB could use their timeout and conceivably get the ball back but, obviously, TB didn’t. I tend to agree with the idea there was a gentleman’s agreement of some sort to just get it over with. Or the Lions botched the timing and Bowles is a good sport. edit: this might’ve been covered. I don’t think I read back far enough. double edit: I guess Campbell spoke about it already and said he messed up but also he could tell TB wasn’t going to call a timeout.
  12. I hope Bass doesn't take that one too hard since there's zero chance Mahomes wasn't driving KC down for the winner anyway.
  13. The worst rule in sports but that looked like it was a fumble to me.
  14. Shame for GB. They’ve been playing good football and had a real chance. Wouldn’t have been my first choice winner but winning in the first year after Rodgers would’ve been pretty funny.
  15. I think it’s a great hire for Alabama. I’ve thought about DeBoer as a candidate for Florida in a hypothetical where Napier gets fired this season but would be nervous he doesn’t have any ties to the southeast. I think that’s way less of an issue with taking over Saban’s infrastructure. Unfortunately, I think Washington might be in trouble going forward.
  16. I would be surprised if he’s a target. Top of the list would be Dan Lanning, I think. Oregon has lost their coach so many times they’ll probably throw a ton of money at him to keep him, though.
  17. Don’t think the NCAA is going to have the balls to vacate it like they should. Harbaugh might leave for the NFL and it won’t matter anyway but he should surely get a show cause.
  18. Cool, cool. So which is it -- is Brock Purdy the most valuable player or can he not keep the 49ers offense rolling without McCaffrey and Deebo? Is McCaffrey the MVP or would the offense suck with Sam Darnold?
  19. Just you having Brock and CMC being interchangeable as far as which could/should win the award make it pretty clear that neither of them are the most valuable player. You could make a pretty good case that the 49ers offense would still go without either player in part because of the other one. That's not the case for Baltimore. You can spin that BAL/SF game however you want but biggest matchup of the season and Lamar showed up, Brock did not.
  20. Can't say I've ever seen this before. Saints score a TD from the "victory formation." Apparently, the players overruled Dennis Allen's instructions to kneel it to get Jamaal Williams a TD.
  21. I think Richardson can be very good, especially with a coach that can plan around his weaknesses like it looks like the Colts coach did with Hurts… but Richardson’s problem is he’s made of glass. He got hurt dancing in his hotel room when he was at Florida, iirc.
  22. Total Yards would be passing and rushing. Brock Glenn - 130 yards Jalen Milroe - 179 yards Milroe completed 70% of his passes, Glenn completed 35%. And actually, if CFB didn’t stupidly count sacks against a QBs rush total, Milroe would have 228 total yards to Glenn’s 144.
  23. Thank you, DeBoer, for turning a relatively ho hum win into an instant classic.
  24. This game should be over but DeBoer played it in the dumbest possible way between throwing it on that third down of their second-to-last possession and not just kneeling it on their last one.
