I would imagine that many of those players wearing compression tops under the kit used to wear the long sleeve kits instead. With those inexplicably no longer being produced, they're forced to wear compression tops with different hues or materials (I assume).

So was I. That sunset was actually pretty amazing. Everyone in the stands was talking about it.

The Steelers are going to have new throwbacks for one game this year, as well as wearing the all black Color Rush uni's once as well. The throwbacks will be unveiled at the end of May. This was all reported as being said by Steelers President Art Rooney II at DK Pittsburgh Sports, which is pay-walled. https://www.dkpittsburghsports.com/2018/04/19/steelers-2018-schedule-released/

LA didn’t drop a hem stripe. The home black jersey never had one.

And Ottawa.

No, they didn't lift them straight from the Bruins. It's a stripe. It goes on jerseys.
-
But it's not inexplicable. The arms and hem stripes of both jerseys match. The only difference is the main jersey color. The yellow stripe exists on the white to separate the top white stripe from the white jersey body, which isn't a concern on the black jersey.

22 teams wearing white pants. 7 games where both teams wear white pants. 13 games where at least one team does. Does that bother anyone but me? -
Forget the source, but it's going to be a patch on both jerseys this year.
