  1. Good catch. Though looking closely at the Jazz uniform photos they appear to be much more 2D than the Cavs are, but it does appear we have a new Nike trend.
  2. I won't pretend it'll show up on tv or in the stands, but I do like how the trim looks in those photos. These seem to be all about subtle texture and depth, I dig the general idea. From afar they look too bland and that should've been higher on the list of priorities.
  3. I might be the last one, but I just noticed in that teaser that Darius Garland is wearing what appears to be a black tee. He does normally wear a compression shirt under his jersey, so maybe that's all it is, but it would be interesting if they threw back to their championship look with the alt.
  4. I thought those were just the summer league jerseys?
  5. These are for sale online(not going to say where and promote this likely fraudulent business), but it's basically what I expect from the Cavs. "Cavs" on front of all jerseys, in metallic looking silicone-coated gold on both Maroon and Black jerseys, with very minimal trim. On the white jersey "Cavs" in maroon with gold inline, again with very minimal trim. I predict they'll be leaning on metallic gold being the calling card of their minimalist uniforms rather than an over-the-top design.
  6. I could be wrong, but I bet Adam Silver and the rest of the teams would shy away from adding a third bird team to the NBA. Chances are the logo would either resemble the Hawks or Pelicans logo too closely for their tastes. I'm by no means saying the name is bad or the 3 birds look the same, I just would bet against it if the Clips were indeed changing their name.
  7. I'm now rooting for KD to force a trade to the Jazz, publicly state he picked Utah because of the new uniforms, bring an all-star buddy or two, and win a ring immediately. I'd pay to see them figure out what happens after that, brand-wise and uniform-wise.
  8. Obviously it'll all come down to how they use these elements and how the brand lives and breathes every day, but seeing stylistic inconsistencies in the first 3 leaked elements does scare me a bit. There's 2 logos with no black, then a logo that's very heavily black. There's flat text, inline text, and 3D drop shadows. Looking forward to the full package, as I do like the colors (hoping for a more metallic gold on fabrics) and I think they can own them.
  9. Can we let ourselves pretend until their release that the dark MAVS jerseys aren't navy or black but actually trash bag shimmery "silver"?
  10. I appreciate the new look but, as others have stated, the bevel is unnecessary. I also wonder why they couldn’t have just used the gray already in the color scheme for the light blue parts of the new logos. Didn’t really need to add another orange and two more blues. Also, I would have greatly preferred a new wordmark based on the old one and the logo instead of basically Gotham Bold.
  11. I went to Alfred University, graduated in '07 and had no clue until just now what Alfred State's sports teams were named. I wish the neck area was rendered differently but other than that this looks pretty good.
  12. Dennis Scott has already been posted in a new Magic uniform, also on the Knicks (15 games) and Mavericks (52 games), but here he is on the Timberwolves (21 games), Suns (29 games), Grizzlies (66 games), and an extra-special Lakers photo (never played a game for them).
  13. Glen Rice has been posted in a Knicks uniform (played only 75 games for them) but I haven't seen him in a Clippers uniform yet (18 games, 262 total minutes played)
  14. Greg Ostertag spent 10 seasons in Utah, one season in each of these. Joe Johnson, spent 7 seasons in Atlanta, only two in these, was an all-star every year he wore the Navy/Red/White duds. Does this count? This should count.
  15. Fair enough, I just picture him in the green and gold arched wordmark unis that he wore for 6 out of his 8 seasons in Seattle. Edit: Talking about Kemp here.
  16. KG, rookie year. Ben Wallace, first year with Detroit Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. Really posted for Kemp. Gary wore these for the full 6 years they had them, though he always looked more "right" in green & gold to me.
  17. Just 3 big-name centers who somehow found themselves playing a couple games in NJ.
  18. Gooden spent time with probably 9 NBA teams, so he technically does and does not look weird in any uniform you put him in. The other two (as well as Gooden) aren't nearly iconic enough for us to identify with a particular team. I'm by no means saying they're iconic players, but even though Gooden is a nomad in terms of NBA teams, nobody will associate anybody with a team they only played a couple games for.
  19. Not going to go through it, but I'm fairly certain Rasheed Wallace's one-game stint with the Hawks is pictured somewhere in this thread. I'm here to document other short NBA stints. Drew Gooden spent one game with the Kings: And 19 games with the Spurs: Ronny Turiaf spent 4 games with the Wizards: Turiaf also spent 13 games with the Heat: Keith Bogans played just 6 games for the Celtics: More to come as I research, I'm sure. If any of these were mentioned already, I apologize.
  20. When you think of Andre Iguodala, NBA Finals MVP, you might think of him on the Sixers (played there 8 years), or even holding a couple trophies in a Warriors jersey(2 years and counting). He also played one season in Philly wearing number 4, instead of his normal #9 and one season in Denver. **The More You Know** Had no idea this even happened, hopefully it hasn't been posted yet. Iverson in jersey #6, for the 2002 All-Star Game.
  21. My wallet is telling me they need to make snapbacks. That's great work by Casey and Jason.
  22. Someone should be defending Casey and Jason the same way people defend Nike or adidas. The redundancy is not entirely their fault. Sure, it seems formulaic to see each minor league team release an identity with an ornate custom wordmark, a batting mascot logo, and a tertiary logo that is based off something off the beaten path. But if they walk into Team A's office and the ownership group says they want those things, their job is to make the customer happy while also producing work they can stand behind. If an owner knows that the Montgomery Biscuits made a ton of money off their logo being popular, they will want something similar (Modesto Nuts, Biloxi Shuckers, etc.) so that they can make that money too. If Brandiose doesn't want to deliver that, they know Simon or some up-and-coming design firm will.
  23. Fair warning: I'm a Brandiose apologist. I like this a lot. Great name for the area, appeals to kids, is very unique, and gives them a lot of options going forward. A brand is a living thing, and this can move and grow well I believe.
  24. My Shannon Brown one with a purple Suns picture instead of the Lakers fits this requirement! edit: juuuust kidding. Cavs would be used twice. Substitute in a Shannon Brown red bulls jersey photo for the 1st Cavs one to do it. edit#2: Juuuuuust kidding again. Bobcats were used twice. Vlad Rad seems like a candidate still but you'd have to use a blue jersey from a european team or something.
