  1. Definitely agree but it's slightly improving though. It was a lot better during the old 21-team era of the 80's.
  2. 110%. This should always be the Kings' look...black & silver or purple & yellow-gold.
  3. I also prefer the current skating Johnny Canuck but as a Reverse Retro, the original WHL version had to be used. That's the JC logo that was used back on their early 60's sweaters along with the striping. I wouldn't be surprised to see a future navy blue or a green 3rd jersey with the current version of JC.
  4. Well, it's very simple. Look at most basketball jerseys, NBA, NCAA and high school and then look at the WHL Canucks ' mid to late 60's jerseys and as the Dallas Stars' original Rebook Edge jerseys. Look at the similarities.
  5. I was never a fan of the WHL Canucks' basketball-designed sweaters. Very much like what the Dallas Stars had when they had their original Reebok Edge uniforms. What the Canucks should have done was either put the Skating Johnny Canuck on the front of a V logo or relegate JC to the shoulders but go back to the original '45-'46 block V with a Millionaires-stylized CANUCKS inside the V. Overall, the Canucks are finally embracing their WHL heritage with JC on the front in bold navy blue and kelly green colours. This is wonderful to see. Also, the first tie-down collar used by the NHL Canucks. This jersey will be a red-hot seller.
  6. BEAUTIFUL Now, THAT'S a Vancouver Canucks sweater! Navy blue and kelly green look amazing together. I just hope it's legitimate. My wallet WILL be ready.
  7. The only good things about the Lions uniforms over the past two years were their helmets with the white-orange-white stripe and the matching black pants. Now, their current black helmets look like high school helmets...boring and cheap. Time to bring either one of these helmets back: or the 80's
  8. Besides the cheap Agency font, not having pants striping is the only flaw in the Abby Canucks' uniforms. However, the Canucks' pants whenever they wear their current 3rds also doesn't have the familiar white-green-white stripes. Not a fan of stripeless pants. Looks boring and lazy.
  9. Powder blue could be several shades of blue...like the Nordiques' powerdry royal blue or the Houston Oilers' powdery sky blue. Electric blue, which I agree with you, @Ridleylash, can be interpreted as a powder blue shade.
  10. Change the blue from royal to a powder blue, put powder blue yokes on the white jerseys and go back to the original logo without the script and it's perfect.
  11. The Lightning could go one of two ways. All they need to do is change their blue from royal to a powdery sky blue....similar to the shade the Atlanta Thrashers' used for their dark jerseys. Then once the shade of blue is taken care of, here are a couple of ideas that would make the Bolts stand out: 1. Go back to their classic '04 set. Those black jerseys with the white shoulder yokes stood out beautifully. Their whites with the black yokes were just as nice. The lighter powdery sky blue would pop and wouldn't get muddied with the black. 2. Though the Bolts looked amazing in black regardless of the Black For Black's Sake era, I felt they blew an opportunity to stand out...like the Sharks did in their original lighter teal. The Lightning could've gone with, as habsfan1 pointed out, black helmets and pants(with the bolt on the sides) and the lighter blue jerseys and socks. Last but not least, the Lightning need to go back to their original logo but without the "Tampa Bay" script and "Lightning" wordmark. The white bolt with the black drop shadow on the silver circle was perfect enough.
  12. I would put the Sabres, Flames and Golden Knights in the "For Sure Forever Done" category. Both the Sabres and the Flames finally learned the lesson, "If it's not broken, don't fix it". They even took their classic crests up another level by adding extra embroidery to reveal hidden details. This is one of the positive trends in pro sports branding. The Golden Knights nailed their crest like a Mike Bossy-shot-on-goal - threaded the needle on the first shot. Any change to their look is a step back. I would put the Canucks in the "Change Seems Like It Will Come Sooner Than Later" category. With the ever-growing popularity of the Skate logo, it is highly possible that the Skate takes over from the highly unpopular and corporately-inspired Orca as the primary crest The players, coaches and several people in the organization love it as well as the majority of the fans. It's already rumoured that the black Skate jersey will take over next season as the team's 3rd jersey. If done properly and with a "little" cleaning up, there's no reason why a recoloured Skate cannot take over as the Canucks' primary crest.
  13. What the Devils should do is go back to the exact template when they had the red & dark green but with black instead of green. There was more red in those uniforms including red yokes on the white jerseys and red helmets to go with the red jerseys. The red jerseys also had more white. And last, the Devils need to put white & red striping on the sides of the pants. Like most of the uniform changes in the 90's including the BFBS movement, teams got super lazy and cheap by removing or not including striping on their new black or navy pants.
  14. I just looked at the BC Lions 2022 marketing campaign and I see that the Lions went cheap again on their helmets by removing the white-orange-white stripe. For a team that was almost halfway there into getting their uniforms right, they took a big step backwards because their black helmets with the striping from the past 2 seasons was one of the few nice elements from their look. Those were the best Lions helmets since their 80's white helmets with the brown-burnt orange-brown stripe. Now, their stripeless black helmets will look terribly high-schoolish and boring.
  15. Agree to disagree. Lighter shade of red looks a lot better with royal blue helmets and pants.
  16. Totally agree. The darker red and royal blue doesn't have as strong of a contrast as the classic lighter red. Also, the Canadiens need to go back to the single red outline around their blue font on their whites. There was no need to update on of the most timeless uniforms in pro sports history.
  17. I didn't mind the changing of the orange to red. The red gave that uniform more of a Canadian feel. Before '82, the Canucks' "red" was more of an actual red but an orangey-red. What I hated about the '92 update was the changing of the yellow-gold/Athletic gold to that eggnog yellow that one season before slightly deepening it the following year. I also disliked the removal of the yellow-gold and red trimming from around the legs of the pants. That was a unique feature and it looked great when the Canucks wore their blacks. Two of several screwups by CCM with the Canucks.
  18. I haven't been this proud to be a Canucks fan in an extremely long time until last night. Not only because the Canucks thrashed a longtime divisional rival but they looked great in doing it too. For me, the return of the black Skate uniform wasn't so much about the beautiful black, red and yellow colour scheme. It was about the Canucks wearing a Canucks hockey crest with the classic block font instead of the corporately-inspired Orca with the cheap Checkmark in Rink and bland Agency font. Many, many fans want the black Skate back full-time. If it did, I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep. However, even as a huge Skate supporter, the Canucks can't keep leapfrogging back-and-forth between colour schemes. The BC-themed blue and green scheme needs to stay. It was very wrong to ditch them in the first place. However, the Orca has long overstayed its welcome and the Checkmark in Rink is a bastardized of the classic Stick in Rink. Here's what the Canucks can do to unite the majority of the fan base: Option 1: A recoloured Skate in navy blue, white and green as the primary crest. I would even make the Skate level to avoid the downhill criticism. Navy blue is intimidating and with the green, it maintains the BC look. The Hartford Whalers are long gone and no other NHL franchise uses the beautiful blue and green look. Johnny Canuck would be on the shoulders and as the primary on a green 3rd...similar to AHL Abbotsford. Option 2: Keep the Skate in black, yellow and red as what the overwhelming majority want but only as a regular 3rd. In order to keep the blue and green as the primary colour scheme, make the original Stick in Rink the primary home and away crest. Johnny Canuck on the shoulders of all jerseys in respective colours. There are a number of good options but we Canucks fans need to be flexible. The only dealbreakers are the corporately-inspired Orca, Checkmark in Rink and cheap Agency font.
  19. In next year's Reverse Retro program, I would love to see a blue with green and white version of this.
  20. I absolutely LOVE this look and not just because of Johnny Canuck. The Canucks can easily own this green jersey/blue helmets-pants combo. As for the template, I agree. I would even use the original two same coloured stripes with the white V's on the sleeve stripes but with the blue and green reversed. I would also add white to the outside of the two blue stripes.
  21. I absolutely love that two-tone red look. Matter of fact, when the Devils ditched their dark green secondary colour, switching to a two-tone red look instead of jumping on the Chicago Bulls red & black bandwagon would have been a wise move. No team in major pro sports that I can think of uses two-tone red.
  22. The Robo/stationary Penguin was actually a very nice crest. The main problem was ditching the Hockey-playing Penguin. It was not only timeless in its own right but the Penguins had just won back-to-back Stanley Cups. If it's not broken, don't fix it. I would have just added the 90's Penguin as a 3rd. If the majority of fans preferred it over the classic Penguin, then by all means, make the switch. I would've kept the 80's/early 90's template though.
  23. Another one of the bad 90's trends in NHL uniforms besides the BFBS movement was the removal of pants stripes. Those Penguins pants should have kept the previous V-stripes or have straight white-gold-white stripes on the new pants.
