  1. I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before... the saddle on the elephant for the Portland A’s logo? Instead of the Northwestern stripe, the city of Portland flag: It’s probably way too detailed, but it does feature green and yellow...
  2. OMG Shut up and take my money. RIGHT NOW. Thank you for making that Gators idea/request a reality. You nailed it!
  3. Love the Dragonflies concepts, in spite of the cooky and non-sensical proposal by ownership. But I had a thought... You mentioned the name being too long for the front of the jersey. What if you stacked them like the original Devil Rays set? DRAGON over FLIES. While I know it’s one word (dragonflies) it didn’t stop the Diamondbacks from making it two words in their stacked wordmark.
  4. You can only drink this while wearing that jersey...
  5. As always, INCREDIBLE work. From the research into the stories, and the approach to the concepts, I truly live for all of the content in this thread. Now... anyone else notice that these last two alternate locations both resulted in heritage throwbacks connected to similar insects??
  6. I went back and re-read those posts earlier today, and the way I interpreted it was that most, if not all, of what was leaked has been debunked. Some then, and some over time. The only one that seems plausible is the one for Portland. But the only element I can agree with is that it will be back.
  7. I see it, too. D is gold, M is red, V is blue. Also, I dig the alternate logo they are using for a social media avatar. The old Bullets ball with the modern Monument. Pretty slick.
  8. And I’m guessing by the teaser gif they posted, they’ll be using a dmv logo. I’m guessing that people outside of the Washington metro area will be as confused as non-Portlanders are to Rip City. On a separate note, it seems as though Portland, Orlando, Washington, Houston and New Orleans haven’t had any type of leaks yet. Which is remarkable so close to what we expect as the release date.
  9. I responded to the Twitter thread about the script. It came from a rarely used script that appeared on promotional items such as bumper stickers and pennants.
  10. I think you’re missing the point I’m making. Whatever source is being used for the old San Diego Clippers font, it’s absolutely wrong. Nike and/or the NBA should do better. Furthermore, no other team in this Mix Tape series is mixing elements from other franchises, so why would they used an old Philadelphia font that doesn’t match? It’s sloppy research by Nike designers, and whomever at the NBA who approved it.
  11. That is sloppy work by Nike and the NBA. That’s nowhere close to the old San Diego font. If anything, it’s akin to the Iverson-era black Sixers jerseys.
  12. Also, if we go back and look at the Twitter leak, there’s clearly a lightning bolt over the jock tag, which comes from bolt under the word mark of those late 1970s uniforms.
  13. If I’m not mistaken, those may be lightning bolts on the side panels, and not solid stripes...
  14. I’m going to copy and paste what I said in reply to the post on the UniWatch Facebook page... “So... as a musician, there are a couple things that stand out to me. One, the obvious things being that music notes are black on white. Two, the typeface seems somewhat inspired by the font used in jazz “fake books” (see attached). I like the use of yellow as a tie-in to the Beehive State. Hopefully they will reference the state highway signs on a future uniforms.”
  15. I feel like my cynical side is seeing the crest embellishments as a league-wide attempt to differentiate authentic gear from counterfeit products. It’s not a complaint, at all. I really like what I’ve seen so far. And as what was mentioned above, I agree that it’s beyond time to get rid of the nasty collars.
  16. At this point, I’m expecting the Blazers’ jersey to be a black version of the ‘77 jerseys, with the vertical wordmark in ‘92 all caps font, over a red and white vertical sash, complete with the number font from the ‘92 set. Therefore, the jersey would contain elements from each of their three Finals appearances: 1976/77 - vertical wordmark 1989/90 - black uniform w/ red and white sash (rotated) 1991/92 - first season of new proprietary font
  17. They really could have just recycled the stick from the NY logo, and it would have made it a little better. Not by much, though...
  18. Ok... I’m going to break one of my rules, or at least be the individual that I don’t want to be. I’m going to make a request without making a request... So, imagine if you will... WHAT IF (also know as, hey I have a request) the Miami Gators were inspired to create a fauxback of Cleveland’s “caveman” era set? Would the cap logo be a G in the style of the Cleveland C? Would they go all aqua or all orange? Would the gator be in a funky batting pose, similar to the chief on the sleeve patch? So many questions!
  19. You have knocked it out of the space/time continuum, my friend!! I seriously need these heritage items in my life. Get HatClub to make the hat, and some Chinese knockoff on Wish to make the jersey and jacket. Shut up and take my money!!
  20. Welp... I sure hope HatClub sends you a freebie as a thank you.
  21. Welcome back! The only thing that I feel I need to comment on is the modification or cleaning up of the old English text for Atlanta and Dallas. In my opinion, the Atlanta clean-up is an improvement, but Dallas is a step backwards. Not a major quibble, just an aesthetic preference. Can’t wait for the new work, as always!
  22. And it looks like the Washington Wizards font for the Dragons...
  23. Due to my current job, I got to spend a little time behind the scenes with this team earlier this year. So, I will withhold my personal opinions. But this just seems to fall flat in SO many ways. EDIT: Good Lord... after scrolling their Facebook page and seeing full logos and merchandise, this just reeks of being thrown together in 10 minutes, generic, and sticks out as not being cohesive with the rest of the Copa collection.
