  1. Hoping someone might know what font is used in the Carolina Panthers wordmark: Thanks!
  2. Thank you kindly, Lights!!!!
  3. Does anyone know what font was used for the Burger King alts? Thanks!
  4. I agree... Furthermore, two things come to mind. One, there's NO way the NHL would approve of this, especially after the girl in Columbus was hit with a puck. When that happened, up went the nets. Having a sky bridge, regardless of placement (either over the stands or over the ice) would be a HUGE liability. Second, I think of the smaller rinks in the Canadian Hockey League where there are gondolas suspended over the rink for members of the press. Low hanging baskets + high flying pucks = radio PBP members diving for cover!
  5. Okay... I just don't know where this should go, but I think it's too awesome (and SOOOO 90's) not to share. Behold! MC Hammer working out during pregame with Ken Griffey Jr!
  6. While we all remember Spud in this uni... But how about in this eyesore?
  7. I remember seeing this font on a lot of Reebok branded uniforms in the late 90s and early 2000's... Anybody know what it is? Thanks!!!
  8. I knew it! I knew I wasn't crazy and that I had seen this somewhere... Yes, Gordie the Shark! I found this clipping in amongst assorted sports stuff of mine I cleaned out of my dad's house today. File this one under "Gordie will do anything for a photo op"...
  9. Been trying to figure this one out for some time... When the Braves introduced the "feather on the sleeve" jerseys, they used a unique font for the first season then went to varsity the next year. A few years following that, the Astros used a similar font on the "tequila sunrise" jerseys. Examples from Bill Henderson's style guide: Question #1 is: Is this the same font? and... Question #2 is: Presuming it's a custom font from way back when, is there anything out there (TTF) which is similar? Thanks always!!!
  10. Here's one that most people don't remember... Portland picked up Moses Malone in the ABA dispersal draft, and traded him away before the '76-'77 season started. Just about as bad as picking Bowie over Jordan, IMHO. Enough ranting, here's a pic... Picture is for bid on eBay.
  11. Awesome find, Bigboy! Up until today, EVERY picture I had seen of Gordie as an Aero was in this sweater... I am truly impressed...
  12. After looking thru this post, I thought I'd share a couple I hadn't seen yet. Cam Neely in his junior days, as a Memorial Cup winner with the Portland Winter Hawks... Bobby Hull playing one of his 9 games with the Hartford Whalers in 1980... Gordie Howe with his sons posing with a Houston Aeros jersey I have never seen Gordie wear... And finally, Lil John as a member of the Atlanta Flames?!?
  13. WOO-HOO! Thank you jp and pagan! I now have a happy fiance once again.
  14. i have had this one... it's the same one Kraft uses for their salad dressing flavors. Cool... So, what is the font called? Thanks!
  15. Okay... I need some help! As some of you may or may not know, I am engaged to get married in a few months. We have our invitations, but we need to type up directions to the venue. My darling fiance, who knows I am a logo/uniform/font freak, suggested we print the directions using the same font as what was used in the invitations. I said, "Great!". Problem is that I don't know what font it is! For you experts out there, here is a sample from the invitation... Thanks!!!
  16. I believe the Bruins currently use that style, and not only that, but the Penguins used that kind of neckline on their hummingbird jerseys. BTW -- props to RC for adding that new neckline. I designed my own style v-neck, but this one is way better. Good job! EDIT Courtesy the 2002/03 River City catalog, here is the list of NHL teams who use the thicker v-neck collar: Atlanta (H, R) Boston (H, R, A) Buffalo (H, R) Carolina (H, R) Colorado (H, R) Columbus (H, R) Edmonton (H, R) Florida (H, R, A) Los Angeles (H, R) NY Rangers (A - both white and blue) Ottawa (A) Phoenix (H, R, A) Pittsburgh (H, R) St. Louis (H, R) Vancouver (H, R, A) Of course, this is all subject to change for next season! ::
