  1. So, a few things about the helmet. 1. I agree about Riddell doing contrast just to make their helmet more visible (not that this helmet needs anything to make it so) and to ell more helmets. 2. The face mask and visor make for a smoother surface that "can" help reduce concussions, while being better for visibility and protection. 3. Getting rid of all the exterior metal takes away grab points not just for hands, but other helmets and shoulder pads. This mean that the helmet slide across things very catching on things. Much better for the neck and brain. 4. Look at the Light helmet, the facemark is tubular titanium without bars welded on so its a smooth surface for that exact reason. Just my 2c
  2. Im coaching in the PFL currently, and the ELF will be interesting. Word we are hearing is that they want to expand by 4-8 teams next season, and eventually expand to 30-32 teams and 8 countries. There are enough well run programs to get there, but finances are going to be a challenge, as some of the teams have major title sponsors and get the best guys, but other programs are limited by location and lack of funding. The National Leagues are pretty diverse in their domestic player rules. PFL teams get: 2 Americans (if you played above HS level outside of Europe you are considered one of these two players) 1 Western European - this includes pretty much all of Europe except Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Russia, and a couple more 3 Eastern Euros - We have 1 Lithuanian, and 2 from Belarus (those leagues are far below ours, so its a crap shoot on who is as good as their film shows) ELF is different, but there are still domestic player rules. If it works it helps all of us long term, but will be tough on the top leagues, as Germany is having a challenge here.
  3. off topic, but Texas State... WTH with those sublimated washed out unis??? stroke weight on that helmet logo and just wow. Im torn on the Aggie unis, and I was married to a red ass Aggie for a decade, but that fan base is just so hard up to be UT its almost sad. They are constantly reaching to top their underperforming rival in Austin. This leads to going away from what was one of the classic looks in college football, to this. And Texas Tech did the bevel well. So much better than that Aggie light TT they used before.
  4. I only went 5 point stars.. but yeah that one too. there are many other lower level teams with stars as well.
  5. Honestly it's a complete play on the original Oilers logo, which is why I love it; and I was not an Oilers fan... but the silver helmet, if only they had gone powder blue! What blows my mind is how thought out the Oilers, er, Roughnecks logo is, while the Vipers have a generic logo with little stroke weight that could have made it an interesting logo. As for the Star, its inherent to Texas, and its distinct enough to keep them out of hot water.
  6. You obviously aren't a Texan. Dallas Cowboys - Star Dallas Stars - yeah you get this one Texas Rangers - yep a star (on and off as a primary in logo) Houston Astros - Star Texas is the Lone Star State... it gets tied into Everything... EVERYTHING. Hence the Star.
  7. That was my first thought, line weight is so crazy thin. And its all over the place. The C with the claw works, but everything else feels like clipart, as you said.
  8. BIG12 should have Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech Texas Christian Baylor Houston Oklahoma St Oklahoma Nebraska Missouri Kansas Kansas St BYU to PAC12 Boise St to MWC Is Mizzou and Aggie stay in SEC bring both BYU and Boise St to Big12 with Houston
  9. The Bulls Concept is just perfect. But all of them are worthy. Pretty amazing to see this quality of work, and even more amazing is how much fantastic design is seen here on this board.
