    I don't think  the Packers can change their alternate uniform yet, so I'm betting it will be a literal gold helmet with a single green stripe.

    So basically old gold with a dark green stripe. Ok, that makes sense. I was afraid they would have a reverse helmet which is green with the white/athletic gold/white stripes. I was going to check out on that deal.

    2024 Helmet updates-

    New Primary Helmet

    * Browns (likely white facemask)

    * Jets

    * Broncos

    * Lions

    * Texans (image leaked of new uniforms showed a metallic/sparkle blue helmet rather than the flat blue they used to use)

    New Alternate Helmet

    * Jaguars

    * Ravens

    * Vikings

    * Giants

    * Packers

    * Jets

    * Lions

    * Texans

    * Broncos

    Let the guessing games begin!!

    OH :censored:! Just leave the Ravens and Packers alone. I know damn well the ones I bold will have lack luster alternate helmets.

    Imagine, Jaguars go with teal helmets which to me will look horrendous in many aspects if they use the chrome type of shell that the Giants and Rams defaults are as well as the red alt helmet of the Texans. But if they use flat, then that if fine with me. But that is not the case.

    Vikings only need their 1969-1995 throwbacks or their 1961-1967 throwbacks, not some hideous alt that is probably going to be white in this case the stupidest looking idea they could come up with.

    Packers should go back to the navy blue and athletic gold throwback but with grey facemask. Their 1940 throwback is in my opinion the better ones ever. My opinion may be unpopular with the Packers throwbacks, but I prefer the 1940 ones better.

    I am afraid of what they have in plan for the Giants. This scares me a lot!

    I would take the red jersey and flip the word and block number colors to white with black trim and eliminate the red pants and use white pants with black and red stripes. Then that would be the best uniforms ever.

    Is this the color rush by the way? If you eliminate the red pants and use white pants from their throwbacks, then this wouldn't even look bad at all.

    Unless an entire fifth organization has been able to keep a secret, there are only four teams getting new uniforms. That's why I don't trust this guy. I think his sources are straight up bad.

    The Broncos looked to the fans for guidance on the new uniforms, and the fans preferred WHITE helmets OVER royal blue? I'm not buying it. I think the color scheme remains largely the same with a 68-96 throwback.

    This white helmet nonsense is this year's Cardinals getting a maroon and orange makeover. If it ends up being true, I'll be shocked (and bummed out).

    You better hope they go the 1968-1996 route because if they do not, then we are stuck with this snowcap stupidity. And why use white helmets when the orange helmets would of done better with the redo? Didn't they wear orange helmets from 1962-1966?

    Not too much of an upgrade, not a downgrade either. Texans brand is pretty boring as is, and sure the horn sleeves and the number color swap are upgrades, but something just feels kinda "meh" about their brand still.

    Boring, and no flair. Plus the color combo just makes it look even stale than before.

    Can any of our color experts speak to this?

    WAIT A MINUTE! THE TEXANS WAS USING MIDNIGHT BLUE SINCE 2002 AND NEVER CHANGED THAT AT ALL. THEY STILL WORE MIDNIGHT BLUE ALL THROUGH 2002-2023!!!! GEEZUS!

    Oof… that striping is certainly a choice. I’d also be willing to bet the pants are stripe-less

    I dig the number font.

    That looks like a minor league uniform or an XFL uniform.

    It looks............................. don't know. I just do not know anymore.

    JFC a defensive end in 0?  If he doesn't get any sacks, that's a joke waiting to happen.  I goddam hate this nonsense.

    Kenny Two Gloves has NO QB NUMBER TO WEAR because of idiot DEs and LBs choosing 3, 7, 17, and D-backs with 2, etc.

    There's a UFA with 13 that'll probably not be back, so he'll end up with that.  But it's ridiculous that there's no numbers available for a QB.

    The punter should be 0, not a DE.  i'll never stop screaming at the clouds.

    I saw that. I agree!

    That does make sense.  I went back and looked at some Dickerson jerseys and that is what it was, so here is a revision.

    Much, much better! I love it already! White numbers can work to justify the white stripe on the blue stripe on the yellow pants.

    I'm aware that the color cardinal exists. I'm just saying that I've heard the apocryphal story of [insert team] wears their colors because the jerseys faded so many times that it's pretty clear that it's never been true for any of them. Honestly, as with a lot of these names from the time it was probably some random newspaper reporter who came up with the name and it stuck. I'm also aware of the supposed quote by the owner, about them being Cardinal red, but there are also 10 million quotes commonly attributed to Abe Lincoln too that he never said.

    You know, mesh never was around during the 1898-1950's. Those uniforms were 98% cotton.

     (I want to say that's the same myth surrounding the Arizona Cardinals' name origins too)

    Speaking of yellow vs. white, I've always loved the Michigan Heritage Jersey mix-up. Despite the guy who runs the site explicitly saying he messed up and the jersey was actually white, I still see people use this image as proof they wore all yellow in the 60s.

    https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1437/3814/files/Michigan_poster.jpg?15109056179843859727

    The Cardinals football team was aptly named after the uniform colors when they faded. I do not think they were thinking of the Cardinal bird until the late 1930's. But the color cardinal is a very old and classic medium crimson color that has been around for awhile and worn by the Cardinals in religious sects. So basically he did name the team after the color of the jerseys.

    And yes, I love Michigan's colors. I was reminded how the Chargers in 1985, the Pacers in 1990, and any other team switch to this type of color. I always loved the Rams royal blue and athletic gold and Michigan's navy blue and athletic gold colors when they wear it because both look beautiful and I am a sucker for the athletic gold colors clashing well with the blues, browns, and greens (mostly Oregon's classic colors).

    My only problem is the oversaturation of it done with the Rams color rush. I wish they had navy blue pants to go along with the athletic gold color rush. Then in 1997-ish when the Pacers switched their home whites to home athletic gold which was brillant.

    Hi all,

    It's only been, what, 2 weeks?  And I am already missing the NFL.  So, I decided to look over the league and determine which teams I wish would tweak, update, modify, or revert to an older look.  I figured I would give it my best shot to design looks that I think capture the spirit of each team while fixing what I see as issues or adding a touch I think they need.  Cannot promise I will get to every team.  There are quite a few I am fine with as they are now, but there are certainly a decent number that need some work.  I don't expect huge changes, entirely new logo packages, or even super-avant garde ideas. i am a classicist by nature, so you may see a lot of 1970's and 1980's elements, but I will add some new ideas where appropriate.

    So, who is first?

    Well, to say that I was disappointed in the Cardinals when they unveiled their newest uniforms would be an understatement.  They got rid of a lot I hated in their prior look, but they kept a few bad ideas (blood clot all red uniforms) and added some new questionable decisions (using silver as a secondary instead of black, missing the SW palette entirely), and they fell prey to what I consider some of the worst trends of the 2020's, things like stripeless pants, stripeless socks, and the ongoing scourge of the unitard.  So, here is my attempt at a modern but traditionalist design all in one.  Here is the image, followed by my notes.

    spacer.png

    Elements I put into this design:

    1. Darkened the burgundy/cardinal red back to a darker tone more like what I recall from the Lomax/Hart/OJ Anderson years.

    2. Switched to a white facemask on white helmet.

    3. Decided to add metallic copper as a color, much more aligned with Arizona style than silver, and reminiscent of both the USFL Wranglers and Arena Rattlers.

    4. Added the Copper as an outline color to the main logo.

    5. Added a truncated 5-stripe pattern to the sleeves, but with a bit of Navajo or Hopi design on the edges, again local flavor.

    6. Added a similar shape at the base of the collar.

    7. Added an "AZ" monogram within another native pattern shape, which will appear on the pants.

    8. Pant stripes are 5-stripe (black-white-red-white-black) on the white pants and 3 colors (white-black-white) on the cardinal pants, with the monogram logo at the hip.

    9. Red color block stripe for the white set, striped sock for the cardinal pants.

    10. No unitard combo (not really up to me, but in a perfect world),  I will accept white over white on hot summer days like preseason or opening week, but never red over red.

    11. A small color block containing the player number at the rear bumper of the helmet.

    12. Copper built into the sleeve stripes on both jerseys, black used as the outline color on all  numbers and NOB.

    There you go.  My take on a pretty traditional Cardinals look that uses a lot of the past (sleeve & pant stripes) but also recognizes some elements of Arizona, particularly Native peoples, culture.  I may come up with a black alt uniform, but we start with this.

    Suggestions on other teams that need some work?  I am thinking right now that the Jets, Broncos, Titans, Jaguars, Seahawks, Rams, Commanders, Falcons and Saints are all begging for something new.  Which is already a pretty hefty list.

    You should use the same design for the sleeves onto the pants.

    Will never be a fan of the gapped number outline on these jerseys

    Just like their white and aqua pants. I do not know why they did that in 1987, but I guess they wanted to copy the Chargers, Cowboys, and Saints. In 1974, the Chargers started that trend with the double trimmed block numbers which they use the jersey colors for that invisible space for the second trim color which is nice for its time but was a mid 1970's thing with the Chargers. Gotten popular by the 1980's when the Dallas Cowboys followed that style for their navy blue jerseys in 1981. Then the Saints did so in 1983 trying to make their uniforms look classy. Then later on, we get the Dolphins in 1987.

    The thing is, this is for when a logo is associated with failure, all 3 of those logos are the same logos Sony, Columbia, Marvel all used during their successful years, maybe if Marvel changed their logo sure. Like I am sure one of the DC logo's could be used.

    Which would be this one.

    Nothing wrong with DC Comics. It just needs to be written better. I love DC Comics!

    I'm more interested in understanding what type of person gets joy out of duping people. I'm going to assume, if this leaker is indeed not legitimate, that they read these boards religiously and will see this. So if that's the case, here's my question: What do you get out of it? When sort of fuel does this give you when you log off and walk back into the world? I'm asking because I genuinely can't imagine it.

    He is probably lonely and wants Paul Lukas to acknowledge his existence!
