  1. As some one who has lived in Rochester for several years, I'm disappointed that their food uniforms aren't based on their world-famous garbage plates. The other concepts are fantastic though! Gonna need to take the time to catch up on this thread.
  2. We all know that the minors can be a place where teams can go crazy with their team names, such as the New Orleans Baby Cakes, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimps, Orem Owlz, Traverse City Beach Bums... just to name a few. However, what are some of the minor league team names that COULD pass as if they were an MLB team? (Or NHL/NBA/etc.) A few off the top of my head: - Nashville Sounds - Reno Aces - Buffalo Bisons - Durham Bulls - Montgomery Biscuits - El Paso Chihuahuas - Tennessee Smokies Note: I did not list any team names that copied from their parent clubs (such as Iowa Cubs, Oklahoma City Dodgers, Pawtucket Red Sox, etc.) Thoughts?
  3. Do you think it'll be possible for the NBA to expand their draft to maybe 3-4 rounds so they can have more players to stash in the D-League once it has 30 teams? Make it a true minor league system.
  4. Now that there will be 25 teams in next year's D-League season, how would you realign the conferences/divisions? 5 divisions of 5 teams apiece? Or 2 conferences with 2 divisions and 6 teams (one with 7 teams) in each conference?
  5. You could always use yellow horns instead of white horns
  6. Seems like it's still unpopular with the folks here. If you had a say in it, then how would you incorporate gold in their set?
  7. Now that a full year has passed along, what does everybody think of the addition of Kasota Gold to the Twins' home jerseys?
  8. I absolutely understand where you're coming from with that standpoint, and I do agree with you. Teams should look their best in the postseason. HOWEVER, sometimes teams will keep wearing the jersey that they've done so well with in the regular season so they can keep that "streak" alive. Like, "don't mess with a good thing" sort of thing. That's probably why the teams wore certain alts so far in the postseason. So, really, it's ultimately up to the teams to decide what they want to wear because they're the ones who's playing the game, not the fans. I'm not trying to start an argument or anything like that. Just stating what I've read from various sources.
  9. The Cubs "hosting" the Astros at Miller Park because of Hurricane Ike. Carlos Zambrano threw a no-no. Note the two teams wearing gray pants. Cubs elected to use the visitor's clubhouses and do their road game routine so they wouldn't feel out of place. It's kinda diffucult to see, but the Marlins once played a home game at Safeco Field a few years ago. They switched the locations because U2 was having a concert in Miami. That time where the Blue Jays was the home team against the Phillies in Philadelphia because of the G2 Summit in Toronto.
  10. Thanks! But one tiny issue is that it doesn't exactly match the jersey's "seams" along the shoulders. But I'll take it for what it is. Thanks again!
  11. I've been wondering the same thing too. If anybody could share this template, that'd be awesome. Thanks!
  12. Maybe make them their own conferences and they only play the actual NBA teams just a few times a year. Think like AL/NL in MLB in the early days of interleague play. There only time they would really face each other is during a 2-3 week period in late spring, the All-Star game and the post-season. Something like this, which is completely off the top of my head: 32-team NBA 8-team EuroNBA 8-team AsiaNBA Have like a 2-3 period during each season where all of the teams travel to each other's homes and have their own version of "interleague." In the postseason, the semi-finals could have 2 NBA teams, and 1 from each Euro/Asia. NBA would have it own playoff system per normal, while the international teams will have their own version. Forget my original semi-finals idea. Maybe just have a normal 16-team playoff like usual, but have a "wild-card, play-in" round between the bottom 2 NBA teams and the Euro/Asia teams to battle for the no. 7/8 seeds. Something like that. It's not perfect but I'm sure someone can come up with a reasonable idea. I know it'll be hard to come up with balanced schedule for something like this, but it's an idea. Just pretend that the International teams is in the "third conference" and the Euro and Asia are their own "divisions." Western Conference (just like normal) 4 divisions of 4 teams / 2 divisions of 8 teams Eastern Conference (just like normal) 4 divisions of 4 teams / 2 divisions of 8 teams "International" Conference Euro's own division Asia's own division
  13. Just discovered this thread and there are some great ideas here! One idea I had (just thought of it off the top of my head) is that maybe if there's a "dead series" somewhere and the original poster cannot continue it, maybe someone else could take up the mantle and complete the series with the original owner's permission. The style/template would be similar, but we could see some cool designs in a same league.
  14. Does such template in PSD exist for this one? It's the exact same one that we see on the mothership of this site. Thanks!!
  15. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the right one in the 2nd row. Just seems more consistent. The staggered numbers rarely works IMO, and like one user said already, no numbers look too simple/light/basic/cheap.
  16. Sharp-minded fella. I like that. You're doing a great job so far!
  17. Love it! I wasn't sure if you missed my question on the last page or not, but I was wondering how you come up with the background stories and the results for each of the classic? I'm rather curious! Thanks!
  18. I've been really enjoying this tread. Your work, as always, is fantastic, raysox. One question though: How are you running the simulations for each of the classics?
  19. Just caught up on the thread. They all look amazing!! The Suns look absolutely glorious, especially with the colors. One question though: How do you decide on the dimensions for the fields?
  20. I have a few concepts of what the league would look like if the Astros stayed in the National League, while one of the following three teams swapped leagues: Rockies, Diamondbacks or Brewers. Brewers AL East Baltimore Orioles Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Tampa Bay Rays Toronto Blue Jays AL Central Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers Milwaukee Brewers Minnesota Twins AL West Kansas City Royals Los Angeles Angels Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Texas Rangers NL East Atlanta Braves Miami Marlins New York Mets Philadelphia Phillies Washington Nationals NL Central Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds Houston Astros Pittsburgh Pirates St. Louis Cardinals NL West Arizona Diamondbacks Colorado Rockies Los Angeles Dodgers San Diego Padres San Francisco Giants Rockies AL East Baltimore Orioles Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Tampa Bay Rays Toronto Blue Jays AL Central Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers Kansas City Royals Minnesota Twins AL West Colorado Rockies Los Angeles Angels Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Texas Rangers NL East Atlanta Braves Miami Marlins New York Mets Philadelphia Phillies Washington Nationals NL Central Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates St. Louis Cardinals NL West Arizona Diamondbacks Houston Astros Los Angeles Dodgers San Diego Padres San Francisco Giants Diamondbacks AL East Baltimore Orioles Boston Red Sox New York Yankees Tampa Bay Rays Toronto Blue Jays AL Central Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians Detroit Tigers Kansas City Royals Minnesota Twins AL West Arizona Diamondbacks Los Angeles Angels Oakland Athletics Seattle Mariners Texas Rangers NL East Atlanta Braves Miami Marlins New York Mets Philadelphia Phillies Washington Nationals NL Central Chicago Cubs Cincinnati Reds Milwaukee Brewers Pittsburgh Pirates St. Louis Cardinals NL West Colorado Rockies Houston Astros Los Angeles Dodgers San Diego Padres San Francisco Giants
  21. Hey, just caught up on this thread and wanted to say that I'm really enjoying what you have done so far. All of the artwork are especially brilliant! The baseball inside the astronaut helmet with a face of a dog inside it is just... mind-blowing. VERY creative! Can't wait to see what you have so far.
  22. It's a C. I think he meant that the red and dark gold outlines don't go all the way around the logo and just leaves one end open.
  23. A softball tournament being held inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Not sure when this was, I just came across this photo and thought I'd share it here. Some more photos:
