  1. The owners are never going to let a loose cannon like Trump into the club, not in this day and age. It's a moot point and not worth discussing.
  2. No doubt the MLB or NFL will never let Trump get in, they are a bunch of conservative men who don't want a loose cannon and public joke like him running around.
  3. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24504283/observations-likely-sale-of-bills-could-speed-up-nfls-race-to-la http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10709415/donald-trump-approached-buying-buffalo-bills
  4. My thoughts as well....but I expected someone to respond "why wouldn't they play up LA to force current cities to build stadiums?"
  5. Does the Bills reach span across western NY, such as Rochester, Syracuse? I would think that, combined with whatever they get from the Toronto area would be enough business to sustain a franchise. There are two stadium plans literally shovel ready in Farmers and City of Industry, plus the plan that Michael Ovitz reportedly has which has been discussed with Mark Davis. So whatever the league says about not having a stadium plan in place sounds like hooey.
  6. Looks like there is a lot going on behind the scenes regarding LA: http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jason-la-canfora/24494519/battle-for-los-angeles-rams-raiders-jockey-for-return-to-socal http://www.sacbee.com/2014/03/24/6264799/sam-farmer-raiders-owner-mark.html?storylink=lingospot
  7. I find it curious that the NFL is so anxious to expand to London when Canada is right next door. Certainly Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal are big enough to support teams eventually. Is the aversion just to protect the CFL or something more?
  8. Bills owner Ralph Wilson has passed away: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10671922/ralph-wilson-buffalo-bills-owner-dies-95
  9. Well, let's keep in mind the Dolphins are a marquee franchise in a major market. Teams don't usually relocate in those instances.
  10. New Interview with Davis: http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawakami/2014/03/08/mark-davis-on-the-raiders-oakland-stadium-talks-its-not-moving-real-fast-and-i-dont-know-whether-its-moving-fully-in-the-right-direction/
  11. Not sure how/if this affects the Raiders staying in Oakland: http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2014/03/06/san-jose-files-appeal-to-end-baseballs-anti-trust-exemption/
  12. So let's say hypothetically, 1-2 seasons from now the Rams, Raiders, and Chargers all haven't been able to secure stadium deals and are all targeting LA...what happens? Who is the NFL likely to prefer going to LA(not considering who is able to make stadium deals)? Are there any alternative markets out there for the 3rd team?
  13. Any thoughts on how open the NFL would be to letting a Mark Davis owned franchise lead the NFL back to LA?
  14. Any thoughts as to why the Colesium City project hasn't gotten off the ground? Colony Capital is I believe one of the biggest investors in the world and am assuming it would be mostly privately funded.
  15. The two reasons I've heard for the NFL not endorsing Farmers are that a) the parking would be worse than its presented as(which I don't think is true because the city, which approved the project is probably far more stringent than the NFL when it comes to this) and b ) The primary reason, that AEG isn't willing to pay market value for a piece of a franchise.
  16. Is the attendance situation in St. Louis as bad as I recall reading? Something about it having the lowest attendence for the past some odd years.
  17. What's the general assessment of the Jacksonville situation?
  18. I don't think you can make much of an argument that LA isn't a top potential market. This isn't 20 years ago. The area has over 15 million people, it has 8 teams in the major leagues and all of them get tons of support with the exception of Chivas(for obvious reasons which are going to be rectified) and it has two shovel ready stadium projects with billionare backing on top of whatever other potential groups/stadium deals that have been discussed which we aren't privy to. In think the only issue is the availability of a team since the NFL doesn't seem to want expand domestically, and LA is used for other teams stadium leverage..
  19. How many millions of people shop at Wal-Mart? You're making it sound like marrying a Walton is like openly calling for genocide or something. What gives you that impression? All of the stipulations they've given to teams about LA, how they've made it clear that they are the ones in control of the process, and how they've dealt with the stadium groups in LA. And from there, you go to "the Rams aren't sufficiently high-profile"? Not saying that, just that there could be better options. Such as? The only other contenders for relocation at this point are the Jaguars, Chargers, Bills, and Raiders. Not the most prestigious of clubs. As I mentioned earlier, both the Raiders and Chargers have considerably larger fanbases in Southern California than the Rams. Some developments in San Diego: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10498748/san-diego-chargers-pitch-plan-new-stadium-remaining-protective-la-market http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2014/02/21/chargers-pitch-new-downtown-san-diego-stadium-plan-but-la-still-an-option/

  21. I think that's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it. What gives you that impression? All of the stipulations they've given to teams about LA, how they've made it clear that they are the ones in control of the process, and how they've dealt with the stadium groups in LA.
  22. Kroenke's ties to Missouri run deep, though.. I get the impression the NFL wants it's return to LA to be perfect, a big splash. Are the Rams a big enough splash for them? Yeah, they've got the "LA's old team" thing going but they've been terrible for a decade and the remaining Raider fanbase dwarfs whatever they have. I'd imagine the league would rather see a rebranded team or the Raiders.
  23. Nevermind, just saw this: http://www.thegoatparade.com/2014/2/20/5431488/mls-commissioner-don-garber-says-stan-kroenke-will-not-buy-chivas-usa
