  1. Might be my favorite uniform match-up of all-time. Also, though home & away are reversed, it reminds me of one of the best Sports Illustrated covers ever: I was also today years old when I realized they shot it two different ways so each team would have version with them on the cover, not just the fold-out:
  2. Forgoing the rumored White helmet for this abomination is an unforgivable mistake. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cila1mzLR8q/?img_index=2 Of course, if they just matched the helmet color to the brassy Gold, it'd be perfect and we wouldn't even need to talk about a Black or White helmet. It's so simple, which is why it's so maddening.
  3. Yes, players in today's game love it, which is is why nearly every team does it.

  5. Checking this one off of the Bucket List this year; attending the game as one of my former players is a senior at Navy. Going to be amazing. I like what Navy did here. That left side helmet logo would’ve been amazing on both sides, but I don’t think anything is bad with the final design. Excited to see what Army unveils. My Father, Uncle and Grandfather were all drafted and served in the Army, so I’ll be there rooting for Michael, but in my heart, for my family. BEAT NAVY!

  7. Any news on Army-Navy Game unis yet? Thought I saw that merch would be available starting 11/20, so I assume uni reveals by then.
  8. Dude, get off your :censored:ing high horse. The Cowboys uniforms are iconic, no matter what you think of them. This forum is getting bush league, fast.
  9. Probably because they looked at these and said, “No, we’re good.”
  10. I’d imagine we’re overthinking it. Probably a “that’s what it’s always been” deal, if I had to take a guess. To me, it worked.
  11. It’s the best they’ve ever looked. Once they start wearing White/Red/White/Red and win a few games, people are going to rave about them.
  12. This is a great look. Love it. But I also really love the Navy helmet, because that’s how it was and how I remember it, and that’s why it works. I was instantly taken back to Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, Dave Meggett, Mark Bavaro and Bill Parcells in his Giants sweater and playing Tecmo Bowl as a kid. The whole point of wearing throwbacks is the nostalgia, guys…not to fix them.
  13. Agree on all. Once, maybe even twice per year is perfect.
  14. Love the Navy shell for the Giants last night. Almost had me wondering if that was Matt Bahr out there...
  15. Lions are a number font, sleeve logo delete, and facemask color change away from having a really good uniform again. Looked great today in White over Grey. Bucs looked awesome. Not sure I'd feel the same if they wore these for 17 weeks every year, but great to see these back on the field finally.
  16. Fellow Chiefs fan here, albeit a bit younger. The Chiefs did wear their White-topped socks with the White & White set as well, but if my memory & research are correct, it wasn't until the late 80's, but was worn through the 90's. Fond memories of DT & Neil Smith in the all-White look, which might be my personal favorite anymore. Didn't see it often after about 2001 when they brought the Red pants back, but it has popped up occasionally over the last few years...but not enough.
  17. This is the same striping pattern the team has worn during its entire existence. There is no reason to change them. Signed, Chiefs Fan PS. I’ve come to really dislike the Red on Red. It was cool…once. Don’t like it now. If they’re going to do it, they need to wear their White socks.
  18. Agree, have been saying this since the beginning. I liked the Black set when unveiled, but when I saw the game action last week, remembered why it doesn’t work in real life: the number colors. Red numbers with a White or Silver outline on Black jerseys are hard to read. The last high school team I coached had these, so I know from experience. (We fixed this on new uniforms by going to a double outline that added Black between the Red & White and it made a huge difference.) Not only are they harder to read, but the Cardinals numbers just seem smaller on the front, similar to the Lions. I hate it. I think they should’ve matched their numbers to their stripes on this set: Silver fill, Red outline. It would’ve contrasted beautifully with the Red NOBs. Can anyone Photoshop the pic below, swapping the Red & Silver on the numbers?
  19. I actually love double outlines too, just not how the Dolphins used to use them. They’re most useful when there is contrast. They look great on the Cowboys here, work well for the Pats, and for teams like the Florida Gators. The issue with the Dolphins is the light colors, specifically the Orange. There’s just not enough contrast for it to look as good as it could be, in my opinion. Looks alright on their dark jerseys of that era, but when compared to the throwbacks they’re wearing now, I prefer that look.
  20. Don't apologize, this actually shows why it works better if wearing dark pants with White jerseys when your team has a dark helmet.
  21. I agree with you on the Dolphins looking better in what are now their throwbacks, but I don't believe them wearing Teal pants is their best look. I much prefer this: Over this: And especially this: Now, the Dolphins have been wearing them so long (that I get why some like them) and they're a somewhat light enough color to work, if they just would wear White socks. By the way, that 2nd pic makes me fiend for the Bills to wear those again full-time. I'd love to see that design on the modern helmets & uniform templates.
