    No it doesn't. The Arizona Cardinals also have multiple pants options. White pants too wear with the white jersey; red pants to wear with the red jersey; and black pants to wear with the black jersey.

    The full post uses wording that seems to suggest that it will be a mix and match situation.

    The multiple pants options part at least means it won't be an Arizona Cardinals full-time mono situation. Let's just hope pants options refers to pants with stripes...

    And yeah, players' opinions mean nothing. No player is gonna say their team's new uniforms suck. And most of the time they like them anyway because they're ICCCYYYY

    If you're a fan of a team with new uniforms/logos on the way, you should not be worried nor excited. It's all about acceptance.

    You already know they're going to look like crap........ mono looks out the wazoo, plain, all-white "socks" (aka leggings), weird numeral fonts, no stripes on the pants.

    Acceptance is the key. Expect absolute garbage and you'll be at peace.

    Don't forget sparkly helmet logo and large city wordmark across chest.

    In game mock up looks great

    Great is a stretch. This is still a bad angle where we can't see much and it's still way too navy. Is that actually the shoulder pattern? I didn't notice any red at first.

    The reason is, in all likelihood, that it costs less to manufacture.

    This is Nike and NFL we're talking about. I hardly think money is the issue.

    Split the difference - blue helmet and socks, red numbers and pants.

    I was hoping for something like this, but with Nike everything’s gotta be predominately one color for unknown reasons.

  7. First the Falcons ditch the red numbers and now possibly the Texans? Seems like this is done just so that it looks different than the previous uniform, but it eliminates contrast and makes the uniform too heavy on one generic color.

    How many navy number, navy pant teams do we need? Already have the Titans, Seahawks, Pats, and Bears.

    Interesting nugget I came across recently.  This is a relatively new style of hat.  Fansedge/Fanatics has every team shows but one, which is Houston.  In a sponsored ad, I happen to come across the Houston version and it's red centric.

    Texans hat

    Fansedge Gallery of the hat model

    Might be nothing, but could be hinting at that red-forward identity coming soon.  Could also be nothing since the Jets hat uses the assumed old logo.

    Definitely is unrelated to what the new uniform might look like. The Bears one is orange and not navy and several other teams use secondary colors.

    The Eagles changing back to Kelly green is a tough one for me. I feel like that particular shade would get old after awhile in a way the midnight green hasn’t.

    It’s similar to the Chargers current change. Like most people, I was DYING for them to ditch the navy and just go powder and gold. But after seeing it for a few seasons? I kinda hate it. It looks washed out and kind of frilly. I know that’s not a popular opinion, but I miss them having a splash of navy to ground that set a bit better.

    Lighter colors in football are just hard to pull off in general imo. It looks fresh and clean, but it doesn’t fit the feel of the sport that well (imo), and grows old pretty quick I think. It’s one of the (many) reasons why I don’t want the Bucs to ever switch back to the throwback unis full time. They look bright and fun for a game or two, no doubt. But sit through a few ten loss seasons in that pastel 70s kitchen look and tell me it doesn’t get old fast.

    I completely agree. The same can be said about the Broncos switching from navy to orange. The brighter color alternates aren’t meant to be full-time looks. Would be overkill. I wish the Chargers would wear the navy alts for more than one game to at least level things out a bit more.

    Props to @WSU151 for the info... The following teams appear to have new Alternate helmets coming this year-

    * Ravens

    * Vikings

    * Broncos

    * Lions

    * Packers

    * Giants

    * Jets

    * Jaguars

    * Texans

    I have to assume the Jets will have a new black helmet to match the new uniforms. Vikings likely white to wear at their whiteout game

    Jaguars? Would they really do a teal helmet with the black jerseys? Not sure I buy it.

  11. It's definitely possible that some redesigns are done with the intention of only using the look temporarily. Sure, some teams want to keep their iconic looks for the sake of tradition and the brand, but do we really think the Titans, Falcons and Commanders are gonna look like this in 20 years?

    If every team just went with its most popular, successful uniform set permanently, there wouldn't be much hype or excitement regarding offseason uniform unveils, announcements for throwbacks/alternate dates, etc. Teams would just look their best all the time, which would be a good thing visually but also eliminate a lot of mystery and excitement.

    As much as I don't like what is described, I think I'd still like it over these.  Just way too tired of this set.

    Agreed. I’m beyond tired of this orange jersey especially. Never should’ve became the primary.

  13. The initial rumors already mentioned most of that, but my goodness that sounds like garbage, especially the pants. The only positive thing I take away from this is that there would be three pant colors that can be interchanged. The current's set's lack of mix and match options made it even more boring than it already was.

    I don’t think they’ll mix and match too terribly much. I just hope their preferred combos aren’t monochromatic. White over white is fine, but PLEASE keep the socks green, and don’t do any ice cube or chilly emojis.

    What’s good in that regard is that the set it is based on always wore green socks and white pants. I believe that, after the mess they’re leaving behind, they will mostly go for simple, traditional looks aside from the black alt.

    I suppose Woody allowed them to wear the black pants for that meaningless season finale at Foxboro as a swan song. I still hope they introduce some green pants to wear with the white jersey.

  15. If they absolutely cannot resist the temptation of having a black alternate uniform, then okay, whatever, wear it for a couple games. But we all know this is gonna become an excuse to pair the black pants with the white jerseys, which is undeniably hideous.

    We are also probably not gonna see much green again since they'll wear both white and black at home for 2-3 games each.

  16. Wow! Is this the first team to listen to the fans and literally “make these permanent” without any modifications?

    I liked that the retro uniforms limited the amount of black jersey games. Now we’re probably gonna be stuck seeing that generic, worthless, cringeworthy, painfully overused, steaming hot garbage the full three games this year, and that pisses me off.

    It takes years for this process to be completed. We’ve known for years about the Texans, Broncos, and Lions new uniforms coming in 2024

    I’m more skeptical on the  Seahawks and Titans rumors this late in the process coming from out of nowhere recently. I’m thinking we see new alternate uniforms and helmets for the Seahawks and Titans, not wholesale changes.

    Id guess a white alternate helmet with the T-Sword Ball & Stars alternate logo for the Titans that can be paired with the Columbia blue alternate jersey for an Oilers-esqe look ( as the Texans adopt H-Town blue)

    For Seattle, a silver helmet with the current logo as a nod to the past that could be paired with Wolf Gray pants and jerseys. Mono-Wolf Gray anyone?

    Maybe it takes years in terms of approval/finalization/supply, but there's no way the Arizona Cardinals spent more than a couple hours or days to come up with those generic catalog uniforms.

    Unless of course the genius who thought of putting "Protect the Nest" on the collar set aside a year or so of brainstorming time.

    Saw some rumblings about the Titans potentially getting a new set next year. It was the first I’ve heard of it.

    Did I miss a giant chain of messages here or is this some new news? in typical Twitter fashion I can’t retroactively find the post. It was listing out the 5 teams getting new uniforms next year, titans included.

    Was it this?

    I also saw the same five teams mentioned in the top comment of this article. It's possible the above account got the info from that guy.

    One more for this. The Ravens added purple pants in 2018 without notice, and it's become the most popular pants for the white jerseys.

    Popular among the fans maybe, but the team only wore that look for two games this season.

    I would definitely be in favor of each team having to declare primary home and road uniforms, complete with pants and socks, and the league setting minimums on how often those uniforms must be worn. Those would also be the uniforms teams would wear in the playoffs.

    I have no issue with rotating pairs of pants or switching things up, but part of a brand is establishing your color blocking.

    This is a good idea in theory, but then we'd have to trust teams to make the right choices, which absolutely would not happen. The breakdown of combos worn probably wouldn't change much overall. The biggest difference would be teams being unable to go the win streak superstition route and wear the same pant color over and over again as easily like the Lions did this year.  And it may get complicated for teams that wear white at home. I'd rather see a rule wear you have to wear your color jersey for at least half of your home games. No more white at home in December for the Bucs or Dolphins, and we'd see more Cowboys navy.

  21. This is a disappointing uniform matchup to close out the season for me. No mystery at all, a common preseason matchup, same as 2019 Super Bowl, two red teams...not loving it.

    49ers Ravens would've been cool since Baltimore hasn't worn purple against San Fran in decades. Of course they could've run it back with the white over black from the 2012 Super Bowl, but even that would've been a different uniform matchup than the Christmas game from this year.

    They've won a lot of big games in the all whites, starting with the one in Green Bay at the end of 2022 which really kicked their present run into high gear. If they win on Sunday, I promise the all-whites will become a classic that people will clamor for in 20 years.

    This is why, for the sake of the team's future aesthetic, I understand why people on here would want the 49ers to stomp them this weekend. We need some sort of negative association that can be made with these things.
