Gawker deserved some repercussions to the Hogan sex tape stuff. They doubled down on some very bad reasoning and their legal defense was horrid. They laughed off a serious threat to their business and are paying the price.

Gawker screwed Gawker. Plain and simple.

Denton & company got themselves into this situation and then handled themselves like morons (hint: Don't joke about showing sex tapes of 4 year olds while under oath).

Today's Skip's last day on First Take for those who want to see him in the public eye for the last time.

Nobody watches FS1. A total cash grab/career killer. Perhaps Twitter will still keep him relevant...

Skip Bayless is an expert troll.

He will always find a way to get attention.

  3. i'm pretty sure i like the new clippers stuff better than the new bucks stuff.

and that's not really much of a compliment towards the clippers, at all.

I am sort of in agreement with you.

I don't think the Bucks are worse than the Clippers by any means but I don't get why people are drooling all over it on here.

The Bucks rebrand is the epitome of "meh" to me.

I have been always curious to see a Nets court with a black herringbone wooden court.

Then the paint and everything inside the out of bounds area in white with black letters.

As for the logo at center court I was thinking of seeing and inverted version of the secondary logo at center court.

It may look kind of weird but I was always curious to see how that would look.

It is kinda weird. But here it is. Looks really nice.

2nd and 3rd has the black baseline and keys. (The 3rd one is my favorite, BTW.)

  6. Knicks: I've been watching them since the late 90's as the only New York team in the NBA, until last year, with all the battles they had against the Heat, Pacers, and Bulls. They've stunk for the last 12 years or so but they are still my team.

Yankees: My family are all Yankee fans so it stuck.

Cosmos: Since I have problems with RBNY and NYCFC, I've decided to just root for the Cosmos.

MLS: I like the league as a whole (besides RBNY & NYCFC) and want it to grow so that the USMNT can have better players.

Rangers (NHL): I just root for them since they share the same arena with the Knicks as opposed to the Isles who are bunking with the Nets.

  8. You can't compare European soccer leagues to American sports leagues. There are too many factors, like market size, television, stadium/arena size and attendance, as well as traveling. It wouldn't work with our major leagues and quite frankly, I personally don't ever want it to.

I def. agree with you. But would it, possibly, work if they were to start a brand new league?

Most likely in the soccer sport. Basically "restart" the MLS because...they aren't THAT popular yet and they could combine the MLS with all of the other leagues throughout North America and install the promotion/regulation system?

Just a thought off the top of my head.

Promotion and Relegation would never work in the North America. We have never really been exposed to that kind of concept in our sports and the general public would be turned off by it.

  9. In order to put things back on track I decided to make a new division realignment of the NBA so that I can put Portland and the possible Seattle team in the same division and make the conferences less lopsided in the process.

  10. Opinion: I hate the US Soccer team's "Where's Waldo" uniforms.

    i think everyone does

It's one of the best uniforms in sports. Jeez, some of you have really bad opinions.

    tumblr_m4vogpCnxA1qc5fy3o1_500.jpg

It is a poor execution of a hoop jersey and the breaking if the hoop in the middle for the numbers just makes things awkward.

I actually like the jerseys from the World Cup a lot better.

    Also

    2011-06-24-knicks-logo.jpg is better than... uqtgw9qh14n3fjdhvycpgbz79.gif

Just for the simple fact that the S at the end of Knicks on the 70's logo looks smaller than the other letters and has an awkard space between it and the other letters.

  11. With all of the talk of the Sacramento Kings possibly relocating to Virginia Beach for some reason, I was thinking of how the NBA would compensate for a Western Conference team going over to the East.

    EASTERN CONFERENCE

    Southeast Division

    Virginia Beach

    Miami

    Orlando

    Atlanta

    Charlotte

    Atlantic Division

    Washington (moved from Southeast)

    New York

    Brooklyn

    Boston

    Philadelphia

    Central Division

    Toronto (moved from Atlantic)

    Chicago

    Indiana

    Detroit

    Cleveland

    WESTERN CONFERENCE

    Northwest Division

Milwaukee (moved from Eastern Conference's Central Division)

    Minnesota

    Portland

    Denver

    Utah

    Pacific Division

    Oklahoma City (moved from Northwest)

    LA Lakers

    LA Clippers

    Golden State

    Phoenix

    Southwest Division

    San Antonio

    Dallas

    Houston

    Memphis

    New Orleans

    ----------------------------------------------------------

I tried to change a few things in order to make travel easier for as many teams as possible.

    - Putting Virginia Beach in the Southeast will give them four relatively close division rivals

    - Putting Milwaukee in the Northwest gives the a close natural rival in Minnesota as well as give Portland and Minnesota a closer divisional rival.

    - OKC in the pacific also gets them less flights to Portland and Minnesota for divisional games.

It'd make more sense to move Portland to the Pacific and keep OKC in a division with Utah, Denver, Minnesota and Milwaukee. Would be less trips to the coast for the whole division as there would be none within the division.

You are right actually now that I thought about it more...

    EASTERN CONFERENCE

    Southeast Division

    Virginia Beach

    Miami

    Orlando

    Atlanta

    Charlotte

    Atlantic Division

    Washington (moved from Southeast)

Milwaukee (moved from Eastern Conference's Central Division)

    Minnesota

    Oklahoma City

    Denver

    Utah

    Pacific Division

    Portland (moved from Northwest)

    LA Lakers

    LA Clippers

    Golden State

    Phoenix

    Southwest Division

    San Antonio

    Dallas

    Houston

    Memphis

    New Orleans

    ----------------------------------------------

I renamed the Northwest Division the Midwest Division because none of these teams are in the Northwest region of the country.

Also I hope this does not happen considering that trading the Kings for the Bucks would make the disparity in strength between the West and the East even stronger. Though I did try to address that a bit by sending the Bucks instead of the Bulls like people have been suggesting in other forums. Because quite honestly the Bulls in the West would basically turn the East into a minor league division pretty much.
