  1. I have been busy with life and haven't been able to make any concepts, however I decided in celebration of 10 years since I lived in Korea, I would make some hockey concepts for a fictional league. Enjoy! We'll just go in alphabetical order...
  2. This really evolved into something special! I would buy one of those sweaters.
  3. You nailed these these. That Checkers jersey may be one of the best I've seen here. I really feel like the reverse retro program is such a great opportunity to dig into a city's hockey heritage, especially their non-NHL teams.
  4. Most of these are solid. Not at all a fan of the Cavs look. Hockey uniforms are all about striping.
  5. Thanks for all the great feedback... Up next are the Carolina Panthers who are partnered with the Carolina Hurricanes. The NHL design is a black version of the Canes' previous white uniform while the retro is based on the Panthers' inaugural uniforms seen here. Next are the Chicago Bears who are naturally paired with the Blackhawks. Their NHL uniform is a color swap of the Blackhawks' classic red uniforms which ends up a little different than their old black alternates. The retro is based on this classic look from 1936.
  6. Up next we have the Baltimore Ravens who will be partnered with the New Jersey Devils. Their design is simple and classic utilizing their unique color scheme. The NHL jersey is a recoloring of the Devils' original dark uniforms while the retro is based on the Ravens' original uniforms from 1996 seen here. Next are the Buffalo Bills who are naturally paired with the Sabres. Their design is based simply on the striping from the Bills' real life football uniforms while the NHL jersey is based on the Sabres' original blue uniforms with the colors flip flopped. The retro uniform is based on the 1969 Bills seen here.
  7. I assure you they're not. Take a look at some jerseys online. They don't reverse on the back.
  8. Neat ideas here. The Highlanders home and away are pretty solid. Tacoma's sleeve numbers are backwards on the back though.
  9. I haven't made any concepts in ages, so I decided to create some ideas of how the NFL would look as a minor hockey league for the NHL. Each club has a home and road uniform, a uniform that pays homage to their major league club, and a retro design. I started with the Arizona Cardinals who are the minor league club for the Coyotes. They have a classic logo that translates well to hockey. For the NHL jersey, I used the Coyotes home uniform with all white replaced by sand. The retro is inspired by these Cardinals uniforms from 1930. Up next are the Atlanta Falcons who are the minor league club for the Winnipeg Jets. I tried to match all clubs with clubs in their respective cities, but with no NFL teams in Canada, you get what you get. The cool thing is that this is somewhat realistic in that Bettman hates Canada and loves to make things difficult as possible for the Canadian clubs. The design is inspired by their clean bold new look. The NHL uniform is based on the Jets' road uniform but with Aviator blue as the main color. The retro is based on the Falcons' 1980 uniforms seen here.
  10. Beyond excellent. I don't even like the Canucks and I'd buy that red sweater.
  11. That red RR jersey is amazing, however if you're going to use the v on the pants, it might look good with the v yokes from the 1980s post-flying-v unis as well
  12. The execution and presentation here is fantastic. There isn't much that I would change. I'm personally not a huge fan of the triangles on the sleeve stripes, but it fits in with the identity you created. Maybe I'm just a little too traditionalist when it comes to striping.
  13. Clearly. I do think that to avoid any future issues such as this, which was not meant to be a problem, it wouldn't hurt to have some sort of rule saying specifically that concept series can not have a fantasy league attached to them or something of that nature. I'm not going to comment on this any further as the league is dead, and is no longer a "problem". Cheers.
  14. I believe that in the case of my thread that was shut down, the competitive aspect of the project added a level of creative input (offering uniform design perks for GMs that did well) as well as making the league more interesting. If that isn't something that the mods want on this site, then it really should be spelled out rather than being "implied". I understand that there are established fantasy leagues on this site, but on a site that sells adspace for revenue, I would argue that a single thread receiving over 24 thousand views probably isn't the worst thing, but you do you, and I'll do me. From my point of view which is obviously different than that of a moderator, the only thing that adding a competitive aspect to a concept series takes away from this site is the exclusivity of the "officially sanctioned" fantasy leagues. In the grand scheme of things, this is not too important, since artists will continue to create great artwork here and this site will continue to be a great place for sports art enthusiasts to come and experience the feeling of camaraderie of interacting with other people with our hobby. I just feel like this is shutting down something that a lot of people put their time and effort into so that certain individuals can feel better than others because they're in the "official" group. Just my 2 cents, back to concepts....
  15. So I'm curious. There are thousands and thousands of pages and posts here. Can anybody direct me to something in writing saying that concept series can not contain a competitive element in the concept section?
  16. How do you change what a spoiler says? Can you make it say anything other than spoiler?
